A Study on the Classification of Income on University's Industrial Consultations (대학 산업자문료 소득 구분에 관한 연구)

  • Industrial consultation is a kind of personal service for companies. The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation sets up a consultation contract in which a professor performs the consultation as the person in charge. Recently, there is an issue regarding taxation of the consulting fee paid to the professor; in short, there is no standardized practice for the imposition of income tax. In this study, we examine the characteristics of industrial consultation and present an acceptable taxation rule based on related laws. First, it is not appropriate to regard consulting fees as wage income, considering that there is no employment relationship between the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation and the professor. Considering that the base consulting fee amount is the same as the invention compensation, according to accounting practices, and that an employee invention is apt to be derived in the consultation, it is reasonable that the consulting fee should be regarded as wage income similar to employee invention compensation. As treating the consulting fee as wage income could end up reducing industrial consultations, the government should amend the income tax law to include industrial consultation as a type of other income.

The Importance of Consultation for Employee Welfare : Qualitative Textual Analysis

  • Purpose: The primary objectives of this research are: (1) To examine the current situation of employee welfare in diverse workplace settings. (2) To explore and identify the different challenges that affect employees' overall well-being. (3) To examine and establish the importance of consultation as a strategic tool in addressing these challenges and enhancing employee welfare. Research design, data and methodology: The first step of the research design is the identification of databases, search terms, and filters. A thorough search will be conducted across respectable academic databases, journals, and pertinent sources using keywords and controlled vocabulary about consultation, employee welfare, and related concepts. The next step is full-text assessment, which verifies compliance with the research question and assesses the caliber of the methodology. Results: According to the previous evidence, the significant benefits of effective consultation for employee welfare have been highlighted: 1. positive impact on productivity in the workplace, 2. Effective consultation Improves employee's engagement, 3. Effective consultation Increases employee retention, and 4. Effective consultation facilitates trust in a corporate communication. Conclusions: The study has identified four main advantages: enhanced productivity, enhanced engagement, increased retention, and enhanced trustbuilding. These findings provide insightful information for practitioners looking to foster positive workplace cultures and improve organizational success.

A Study on the Reset of Examination Criteria for Energy Use Plan through Consultation Case Analysis (협의 사례 분석을 통한 에너지사용계획 검토기준 재설정 연구)

  • The Consultation about Energy Use Plan is prescribed by the Energy Use Rationalization Act. In order to reset Examination Criteria for Energy Use Plan, consultation case analysis from 2001 to 2010 were carried out and National Energy Master Plan was reviewed. This study proposes that Examination Criteria for Energy Use Plan be should divided into Urban & Tourism complex development project and Industrial complex development project for the prevention of civil complain. Also predicts that effect of energy savings calculated by Reset Examination Criteria on $1^{ST}$ energy demand BAU at 2030 is 2.2%, effect of new & renewable energy utilization at 2030 is 3% and the rate of $CO_2$ reduction to greenhouse gas emission BAU at 2020 is 1.1%.

The Effects of Consultation Program upon the Mental Health of Female Victims of Domestic Violence and Psychological·Social Factors (상담프로그램이 가정폭력 피해 여성의 정신건강과 심리·사회적 요인에 미치는 효과분석)

  • This research was executed to develop a consultation program for female victims of domestic violence in the past and appraise its effectiveness. For the research, we selected 30 persons for an experimental group and a control group respectively, and practiced frequency analysis, reliability analysis, homogeneity check and T-test of independent sample by using SPSS 20.0 for Windows. The result of analysis is as follows. First, it was probed that the consultation program had the effect to improve the self-esteem of female victims of domestic violence, and reduce depression levels and anxiety. Second, it appeared that consultation program improved the psychological and social adaptation of female victims of domestic violence positively and cast an affirmative effect on the satisfaction of communication of subdivision and conflict-coping method. Therefore, it app[eared that this program had a close relation with the attitude etc. to solve the issues of interpersonal relations and communication of female victims of domestic violence. That is, it was verified that the program had the effect in that they escaped from the sequela of abuse and adapted themselves to mental society.

  • The design consultancy, with the development of economic integration, globalization of industrial design, technology revolution in the world and social economy, has come into being and grown gradually, which has injected new energy for the innovation of products and the expansion of new markets. Meanwhile, designers' function and their means to create value have started to diversify, instead of the single one, designing products only. As far as the thesis is concerned, it introduces relevant literature first so that basic concept, classification and etc. of the present design consultation are given. Second, with the help of certain research in advance, it shows the growth and the trend of design consultancy in UK, Japan and South Korea, as well as designers' progress and the diversion of their function with economy development. Finally, the conclusion is given on the basis of the ambiguity of designers' function in industrial design consultation in present corporations. Besides, it points out what roles are likely to be played by designers, as the planner of the whole project, the maker of the strategy, the provider of the whole program, the guide of clients and the supplier of related database, while providing industrial design consultation.

The Relationship Between Employee Consultation and Workplace Stress: Evidence from the Current Literature

  • Purpose: The relationship between employee consultations and job/workplace stress remains one of the most consequential owing to its impact on the well-being of the employees and their final output. The current study aims to look closely at the connection employee consultation and job stress, investigating the prior and present literature dataset to explore employee consultations' approaches, effects, and impacts in reducing job stress. Research design, data and methodology: The current research has conducted literature content analysis, and all collected prior studies were selected and screened thoroughly by the topic and keywords of the research. Results: The result of this study shows that meaningful consultations for workers are pertinent and essential in addressing the causes of workers' job stress, thus critical in reducing them as follows: Mitigation of Workers' Stressful Concerns, Booting Interpersonal Relationships at Work, Employees Personal Improvement, and Proper Communication Tendencies and Culture. Conclusions: All in all, this study concludes that employee consultation equally deals with positive aspects such as areas of strengths and achievements of employees. It entails discussing ways to maintain or consistently improve a worker's abilities and performance. Through the above dimensions, employee consultation reduces job stress and improves performance and outcomes.

Factors Determining the Quality of Labor-Management Relations in Korea (우리나라 노사관계(勞使關係) 질적(質的) 수준(水準)의 결정요인(決定要因)과 과제(課題))

  • An analysis of factors determining the quality of labor-management realtions shows that they include the external environment factors, the agent factors representing spirits and strategies of unions and employers, and the process factors of interaction channels in bargaining, consultation, and participation. It is found from recent research results that the spirits and strategies of unions and employers is the most important factor and that communication, consultation and sincere bargainings between them are the next most important, while environment factors are rarely important. It is suggested that mutual trust and respects, information sharing, sufficient communication and consultation, joint workplace innovation, and industry-level labor-management consultation are effective tools for good industrial relations.

A Study on the Simple Criteria to distinguish being or not facilities of Consultation about Energy Use Plan (에너지사용계획 협의대상 시설여부를 판별하기 위한 간편한 기준에 관한 연구)

  • In order to set the simple criteria to distinguish being or not facilities of Consultation about Energy Use Plan, data analysis and case analysis were carried out. This paper proposes that building, one of the facilities, is being object of the Consultation about Energy Use Plan when in the public project, its gross area is more than 75,000 $m^2$ or main transformer capacity is more than 9,000 kVA and when in the private project, its gross area is more than 100,000 $m^2$ or main transformer capacity is more than 11,500 kVA. Also shows that factory, another of the facilities, is being object when in the private project, its main transformer capacity is more than 6,000 kVA or boiler capacity is more than 24 ton/h and when in the public project, its main transformer capacity is more than 3,000 kVA or boiler capacity is more than 12 ton/h.

The Comparative Analysis of the Joint Labor-Management Consultation (노사협의제 성격의 국제비교)

  • The recent keen global competition makes cooperative Labor-Management relations as one of the minimum requirements for the business firms in order to survive. Accordingly, this study focused upon the comparative analysis of the traits of some major countries' Labor-Management Joint Consultations for the purpose of explaining the core characteristics of them. The way how to develop and enhance the Labor-Management Joint Consultation in Korea was also suggested. As a result, this study shows that the social background of, the authority of, and the relationship with collective bargaining of the the Labor-Management Joint Consultation differed in great extent among the countries, and that these differences caused the various consultation patterns in each country. For example, the Labor-Management Joint Consultation was introduced and used voluntarily in the U.S.A. and Japan, while it was enforced by law in Korea, Germany, and France. Also, co-determination has been popular in Germany, France, and The U.S.A., but only the advising and consulting have been dominant in Korea and Japan. However, the rapid change of business environment and the increase in employees' need will make the co-determination as a desirable pattern even in Korea.

A Case Study on The Strategy and Way to Promote IT Collaboration between SMEs and Large Firms in The Heavy Industries (중공업 부문의 대중소 IT 협업 전략과 추진에 관한 사례연구)

  • The challenges facing manufacturing companies today span across the industry, independent of company size or product. Especially, big manufacturers must overcome these challenges, and information technology (IT) collaboration with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will play a major role in this effort. In this research, the strategy and way to promote IT collaboration between SMEs and large firms in heavy industries are proposed. A pre-consultation was performed to derive the strategy and way for the collaboration, and an IT collaboration system was developed reflection the results of pre-consultation. The IT collaboration system consists of two parts. One is ERP based on BPM for SMEs to standardize and visualize the entire business process from order placement to release. This system also provides their parent company with visibility into the status of orders and user can easily access the system on the web at a low price through cloud computing service. The other is interface part for data changes between large firms and SMEs. Thus far, this paper demonstrates the importance of strategy for the collaboration, and the applicability of IT collaboration system to elevate the speed and efficiency of business.
