  • It seems reasonable to assume that the individualized learning means more than simple teaching-learning method, so the instructional method has attracted a fair amount of attention not only in classroom, but also in the field of a adult education, cooperate education, and so on. In order to have an effect on individualized learning, we need to analyze and measure the learner's characteristic. However it is difficult to represent in quantified form because the conception and category of learner's characteristic is various and extensive. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a quantification method of learner's characteristic, which is limited to learner's cognitive structure and style, and is represented in the light of connectionism, verify the validity. The learner's cognitive structure in this paper was represented, which simplified the learner's cognitive structure. Additionally, the cognitive style in this paper was limited to inertia of knowledge for learner's cognition.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in reported discharge learning needs between nurses and liver transplantation (LT) patients. Methods: The participants of this study were 40 patients discharged after LT at P University Hospital in Y City and 42 nurses in intensive care units and the ward. The data were collected for two months from December 1, 2012, to January 31, 2013, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Student's t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: Patients earning a low income (p=.041), having no experience of hospitalization after LT (p=.023), and receiving information about LT from nurses (p=.003) indicated higher discharge learning needs. Among the items evaluated regarding discharge learning needs, "rejection symptoms or signs" were regarded to be more important by nurses than LT patients (p=.038). However, "management of other diseases after LT" (p=.003), "risk of recurrence" (p=.001), "food choices" (p<.001), "obesity prevention" (p=.020), "amount of exercise" (p=.007), and "ways to receive financial help"(p=.033), were thought to be more important by LT patients than nurses. Conclusion: There exist differences between LT patients and nurses with respect to their perceptions of LT discharge learning needs. Therefore, an individualized education program reflecting patients' conditions and learning needs rather than providing information uniformly needs to be developed.

  • In this research, researcher will examined the theoretical background of open education. Based on the result of the development of the suggested guidelines for a home economics teaching/learning program, researcher concludes that in order for the teaching/learning programs based on open education to be efficiently acieved in the classroom environment-organization at the middle school the following reform measures must accompany these programs. First, in order for the special characteristics of open education, i.e., individualized and small group study, to be effectively achieved, it is necessary to improve the physical classroom environment-organization. Second, the two class hours per week currently allotted for home economics are not sufficient to convey the information in the textbook. In order to reach objectives of teaching home economics according to open education a guarantee of a few more class hours is demanded. Third, in order to successfully achieve teaching/learning programs following open education, it is necessary for home economics teachers to make efforts to develop educational materials, and to engage in ongoing research and inservice training. For this to occur, measures must be taken to reduce the workload of teachers.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the model of constructivist multimedia-assisted instruction(CMAI) and to analyze the effect of it in the secondary school geography. The main results are as follows : (1) The conceptual model of CMAI can be defined as an instruction aiming at making a person who has self-directed learning ability through constructivism and multimedia. The procedural model of CMAI based on PIDA instructional strategy is divided into four stages : prediction & explanation, inquiry activity, discussion & fixation, application & synthesis stage. (2) CMAI is typed by offline CMAI and online CMAI. that is, O/WCMAI(online CMAI by web-based courseware). Offline CMAI is subdivided into P/TCMAI(offline CMAI by presentation-based courseware) and C/RCMAI(offline CMAI by cd-rom based courseware) according to authoring tool and function. (3) Offline constructivist multimedia course-ware(offline courseware) was developed for 2 periods as the material to analyze the effect of CMAI. Offline courseware is received development level of it. (4) After offline courseware being applied to the class, the effect of it according the types of the CMAI instruction(lecture instruction, whole teaching, individualized learning, cooperative learning) was analyzed. • With the advent of the AI, the need to use AI in the field of education is widely recognized. The purpose of this study is to shed light on how prospective mathematics teachers perceive the need for AI and the role of teachers in future mathematics education. As a result, with regard to teaching, prospective teachers recognized that the use of AI in school mathematics is a demand of a new era, that various types of lesson can be implemented, and that accurate knowledge and information can be delivered. On the other hand, they recognized that AI has limitations in having cognitive and emotional interactions with students. As for mathematics learning, the prospective teachers recognized that AI can provide individualized learning, be used for supplementary learning outside of school, and stimulate students' interest in learning. However, they also said that learning through AI could undermine students' ability to think on their own. With regard to assessment, the prospective teachers recognized that AI is objective, fair and can reduce teachers' workload, but they also said that AI has limitations in evaluating students' abilities in constructed-response items and in process-focused assessment. The roles of teachers that the prospective teachers think were to conduct a lesson, emotional interaction, unstructured assessment, and counseling, and those of AI were individualized learning, rote learning, structured assessment, and administrative works.

  • The study aims to examine the effectiveness of flipped learning teaching methods by using learning analytics to enable effective programming learning for non-major students. After designing a flipped learning programming class model applied with the ADDIE model, learning-related data of the lecture support system operated by the school was processed with crawling. By providing data processed with crawling through a dashboard so that the instructor can understand it easily, the instructor can design classes more efficiently and provide individually tailored learning based on this. As a result of analysis based on the learning-related data collected through one semester class, it was found that the department, academic year, attendance, assignment submission, and preliminary/review attendance had an effect on academic achievement. As a result of survey analysis, they responded that the individualized feedback of instructors through learning analysis was very helpful in self-directed learning. It is expected that it will serve as an opportunity for instructors to provide a foundation for enhancing teaching activities. In the future, the contents of social network services related to learners' learning will be processed with crawling to analyze learners' learning situations.
