  • We introduce some properties for fuzzy binomial distributions with fuzzy valued probability. First we define fuzzy type I error and type II error for fuzzy relative frequency and agreement index. And we show that an fuzzy power function and fuzzy binomial frequency function for binomial proportion test.

  • In this note, we extends some of the results of Liu [Fuzzy Sets and systems 157 (2006) 869-878]. This extension consists of a simple proof involving weighted functions and their preference index. We also give an elementary simple proof of the maximum entropy weighting function problem with a given preference index value without using any advanced theory like variational principles or without using Lagrangian multiplier methods.

  • Recently, Liu (2005) proposed a special type of weighting function under a given preference index level with the minimal variability similar to the minimal variability OWA operator weights problem proposed by Fuller and Majlender (2003). He solved this problem using a result of classical optimal control theory. In this note, we give a direct elementary proof of this problem without using any known results.

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm the relevance of dental health capacity and pulmonary function status. The subjects of this study were adults aged 40 years and older, who participated in pulmonary function and oral examinations. The data used for this study were raw data from the sixth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2013~2015). Statistical analysis was performed by analysis of complex sample survey data. The results were as follows: First, restrictive and obstructive patterns were more prevalent among males than females. They were even worse in older subjects. Approximately 67% of smokers had obstructive pattern. Second, there was a relevance between dental health capacity and pulmonary function status. The functioning teeth index, number of present teeth, and number of sound teeth (ST), which are indicators of dental health, declined with decreased pulmonary function. The number of missing teeth (MT) increased as the pulmonary function deteriorated (p<0.05). Third, the relevance between dental health capacity and pulmonary function status after stratifying the life-long smoking experience was statistically significant in the tissue health (T-health) index and ST among non-smokers. The relevance between dental health capacity and pulmonary function status after stratifying the life-long smoking experience was statistically significant (p<0.05) for the T-health index, ST, and MT among smokers. However, there was no relevance between dental health capacity and pulmonary function status after stratifying the life-long smoking experience and adjusting confounding variables. In conclusion, there was a relevance between dental health capacity and pulmonary function status after confounding variables were adjusted. However, there was no relevance between dental health capacity and pulmonary function status after stratifying the life-long smoking experience and adjusting confounding variables.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analysis of effectiveness between cognitive function assessment scores and gaming cognitive rehabilitation system in children with intellectual impairment. Methods: Five children (male=5, $age=10.00{\pm}0.80$) with intellectual impairment participated in this study and were randomly assigned to the experiment that played (received) gaming cognitive rehabilitation system (Neuroworld). The children were applied 2 times a week for 30 minutes during 3 months. The children were assessed K-WSIC-VI (Korean-Wechsler intelligence scale for children-fourth edition) and recorded that gained score in gaming cognitive rehabilitation system before and after intervention. K-WSIC-VI contained five primary index scores: verbal comprehension index, visual spatial index, fluid reasoning index, working memory index, and processing speed index. Gaming cognitive rehabilitation system scoring was composed visual recall, target recall, sequence recall, selective attention, continuous attention, and exploration. Results: In the intelligence quotient (IQ) of K-WSIC-VI, there were significant increased in all children. The visual recall item was highest effective in all children. However, sequential recall showed the lowest improvement in all children. The performance speed of selective attention item was decreased, this means that children's skills have improved. Also, their ability to explore has improved significantly. Conclusion: In conclusion, gaming cognitive rehabilitation system was significant effectiveness in cognitive function in some categories for children with intellectual impairment. However, the visual recall and performance speed don't represent of all cognitive function. Therefore, further studies will need to verify by applying more subject and longer duration.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the sexual function of male patients receiving rectal cancer and to analyze the factors related to sexual function. Methods: This study included 71 male patients undergoing outpatient treatment after surgery at C University Hospital, Chonnam, Korea from April 1 to September 1, 2014. The sexual function of males with colorectal cancer was calculated using the Korean Translation of International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF). Data analysis was performed using t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis. The study was IRB approved. Results: The sexual function index scores of the subjects were 33.28±19.47 points. Regression analysis showed that sexual function increased as the duration after operation increased(p=.001), higher location of cancer(p=.007), age decreased(p=.013). The explanatory power (adj. R2) of the analysis model was 0.186. Conclusion: Sexual function of males with rectal cancer differed according to duration after operation, and location of cancer, age. Therefore, medical staff think that it can be used as basic data for appropriate education and counseling by age, time, and type of treatment to improve sexual function of men with rectal cancer.

  • In this paper, a sound quality index for the evaluation of the vehicle intake noise was developed through a correlation analysis of the objective measurement and the subjective evaluation. First, intake orifice noise was measured at the wide-open throttle sweep condition. And then, the acoustic transfer function between intake orifice noise and interior noise was measured. Simultaneously, subjective evaluation was carried out with a 10-scale score by 8 special engineers. The correlation analysis between the psychoacoustic parameters derived from the measurement and the subjective evaluation was performed. The most critical factor was determined and the corresponding sound quality index for intake noise was obtained from the multiple factor regression analysis method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed index was validated.

  • The process capability indices have been widely used to measure process capability and performance. In this paper, we proposed a new process capability index which is based on an actual dollar loss by defects. The new index is similar to the Taguchi's loss function and fully incorporates the distribution of quality attribute in a process. The strength of the index is to apply itself to non-normal or asymmetric distributions. Numerical examples were presented to show superiority of the new index against $C_p$, $C_{pk}$, and $C_{pm}$ which are the most widely used process capability indices.

  • This paper describes an Axiomatic Design Process enhanced by the Combinative Index that represents combinative strength between function requirements and design parameters. This method combines the advantages of these two methods : 1) Combinative Index that represents combinative strength between function requirements and design parameters so that we clearly understand these information. 2) engineering specifications are categorized into strategies, constraints and Functional Requirements. In this paper, relationship of FR's and DP's is regarded as one in which uncertainty of information are fundamentally involved. In the reduction of problem with uncertainty, we propose an enhanced Axiomatic Design Process using Combinative Index.

  • Social Welfare is useful concept for evaluating the effectiveness of an economic policy in micro economics. This paper focuses on Social Welfare(SW) of electricity market incorporating demand response(DR). Competition between DR and generation company is modeled as a simple bid function. DR function can be considered as an negative generation(called Negawatt) and as an element of modified demand function. These two approaches result in the same demand reduction, generation power, and the market price. However, SW in the modified demand function approach is not identical to SW in the Negawatt approach. It makes the numerical index of DR effectiveness less persuasive. This paper proposes modified definition of SW in the demand function approach. The proposed definition of SW leads the DR effectiveness index to be identical to that in the Negawatt approach.
