Currently, LPWA(Low Power Wide Area) communication technology is widely used due to the development of IoT(Internet of Things) technology. Among the LPWA technologies, LoRaWAN(Long Range Wide Area Network) is widely used in many fields due to its wide coverage, stable communication speed, and low-cost modem module prices. In particular, LoRa(Long Range) can easily construct LoRaWAN with a dedicated gateway. So many organizations are building their own LoRaWAN-based networks. The LoRaWAN Gateway receives the LoRa packet transmitted from an End-device installed in the adjacent location, converts it into the Internet protocol, and sends the packet to the final destination server. Current LoRa Gateway uses a single-hop method, and each gateway must include a communication network capable of the Internet. If it is the mobile communication(i.e., WCDMA, LTE, etc.) network, it is required to pay the internet usage fee which is installed in each gateway. If the LoRa communication is frequent, the user has to spend a lot of money. We propose an idea on how to design a multi-hop protocol which enables packet routing between gateways by analyzing the LoRaWAN communication method implemented in its existing single-hop way in this paper. For this purpose, this paper provides an analysis of the standard specification of LoRaWAN and explains what was considered when such protocol was designed. In this paper, two gateways have been placed based on the functional role so as to make the multi-hop protocol realized: (i) hopping gateway which receives packets from the end-device and forwards them to another gateway; and (ii) main gateway which finally transmits packets forwarded from the hopping gateway to the server via internet. Moreover, taking into account that LoRaWAN is wireless mobile communication, a level-based routing method is also included. If the protocol proposed by this paper is applied to the LoRaWAN network, the monthly internet fee incurred for the gateway will be reduced and the reliability of data transmission will be increased.

In this study, The goal is to analyze the feasibility of introducing a Piggyback system that can reduce the time and cost incurred by transshipment work and improve the transportation speed when transporting complex cargo by rail. To this end, the feasibility analysis methodology is reviewed through domestic and international literature review. In order to quantitatively derive the feasibility analysis values, a transportation database was applied to develop a freight transport simulation model and a freight demand prediction model for major freight transport O-D routes with a transportation distance of 200 km or more. As a result of analyzing economic feasibility by setting the analysis period to 15 years on the premise that the Piggyback System will be introduced on major cargo transport O-D routes in 2025, the NPV value was positive and the B/C value was 1.18, indicating that the Piggyback system was economical. The proposed research method can be meaningful data for establishing transportation policies that can improve the competitiveness of railroad transportation.
The textile industry in Korea, the dyeing sector is an energy-intensive sector and has low per-unit productivity due to its labor-intensive nature. If the defective rate of dyed fabrics is high, additional costs are incurred due to an increase in production cost due to re-dyeing. Therefore, the goal of the dyeing factory was to minimize the defect rate rather than to save energy. It was difficult to check the dyeing state of the fabric in real time due to the risk of accidents due to burns or pressure when dyeing in a high-temperature and high-pressure environment. In this paper, a complex sensor that can measure the exhaustion rate of dye solution in the dyeing machine using turbidity, pH, and conductivity sensors was proposed, and the experimental method and experimental results were analyzed.
Identifying defects in textiles is a key procedure for quality control. This study attempted to create a model that detects defects by analyzing the images of the fabrics. The models used in the study were deep learning-based VGGNet and ResNet, and the defect detection performance of the two models was compared and evaluated. The accuracy of the VGGNet and the ResNet model was 0.859 and 0.893, respectively, which showed the higher accuracy of the ResNet. In addition, the region of attention of the model was derived by using the Grad-CAM algorithm, an eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) technique, to find out the location of the region that the deep learning model recognized as a defect in the fabric image. As a result, it was confirmed that the region recognized by the deep learning model as a defect in the fabric was actually defective even with the naked eyes. The results of this study are expected to reduce the time and cost incurred in the fabric production process by utilizing deep learning-based artificial intelligence in the defect detection of the textile industry.

Failure and malfunction of the unmanned surveillance facility cost can lead to delays occurring until the person in charge arrives at the unmanned surveillance facility, and theft, damage, and information leakage damage caused by intruders. In addition, due to equipment failure and malfunction, additional costs are incurred due to constant inspection by the manager. In this paper, in order to compensate for the malfunction of unmanned facility costs, we propose a system that diagnoses the monitoring facility in real time, displays the contents of the problem, automatically restores the facility power, and informs the person in charge of the situation by text message. The proposed system is a surveillance facility consisting of main facilities such as video equipment (CCTV), sound equipment, floodlights, etc. And SMS server that can send text messages in real time. Through experiments, the effectiveness of the proposed system was verified.
Purpose:From a societal perspective, we evaluated the cost-effectiveness of a novel sustained-release injection of recombinant human growth hormone (GH) administered on a weekly basis compared with that of the present daily GH injection for the treatment of children with GH deficiency. Methods:Health-related utility for GH therapy was measured based on the visual analogue scale. During July 2008, caregivers of 149 children receiving GH therapy form 2 study sites participated in a web-based questionnaire survey. The survey required the caregivers to rate their current subjective utility with daily GH injections or expected utility of weekly GH injections. Because there was no difference in the costs of the daily and weekly therapies, for the purposes of this study, only drug acquisition costs were considered. Results:Switching from daily to weekly injection of GH increased the utility from 0.584 to 0.784 and incurred an extra cost of 4,060,811 Korean won (KW) per year. The incremental cost-utility ratio (ICUR) for a base case was 20,305,055 KW per quality-adjusted life year (QALY) gained. Scenario analyses showed that the ICUR ranged from 15,751,198 to 25,489,929 KW per QALY. Conclusion:The ICUR for a base case and worst case scenario analyses ranged from 0.85 to 1.37-times per capita gross domestic product of Korea, which is considered to be within the generally accepted willingness-to-pay threshold. Thus, it is concluded that switching from daily to weekly injection of GH would be cost-effective.
This study examined the feasibility on the construction of a wood industrialization service center for a wood industry cluster establishment in Jeollanam-do. Construction of the wood industrialization service center is based on a discount rate of 3.5%, an investment period of 4 years, a business operations period of 16 years and an investment cost of 24600 million won; the total amount of the net present value, the cost-benefit ratio and the internal rate of return were assumed to be 2.579 million won, 2.51%, and 10.1%, respectively. In addition, the production inducement coefficient, the induced production effect, the income-induced coefficient, the income inducement effect, the employment inducement coefficient, and the employment inducement effect were estimated 1.4345, 35287 million won, 0.1655, 4000.7 million won, and 0.4665, 1,145 people, in the effects of the wood related industries using the multi-regional input-output model, respectively. Financial independence of operating income to cover its own costs incurred in accordance with the operating project might be practicable.
This study starts with the idea that the process of creating a Gantt Chart for schedule planning is similar to Tetris game with only a straight line. In Tetris games, the X axis is M machines and the Y axis is time. It is assumed that all types of orders can be worked without separation in all machines, but if the types of orders are different, setup cost will be incurred without delay. In this study, the game described above was named Gantris and the game environment was implemented. The AI-scheduling table through in-depth reinforcement learning compares the real-time scheduling table with the human-made game schedule. In the comparative study, the learning environment was studied in single order list learning environment and random order list learning environment. The two systems to be compared in this study are four machines (Machine)-two types of system (4M2T) and ten machines-six types of system (10M6T). As a performance indicator of the generated schedule, a weighted sum of setup cost, makespan and idle time in processing 100 orders were scheduled. As a result of the comparative study, in 4M2T system, regardless of the learning environment, the learned system generated schedule plan with better performance index than the experimenter. In the case of 10M6T system, the AI system generated a schedule of better performance indicators than the experimenter in a single learning environment, but showed a bad performance index than the experimenter in random learning environment. However, in comparing the number of job changes, the learning system showed better results than those of the 4M2T and 10M6T, showing excellent scheduling performance.
This paper undertakes a conceptual review of transaction cost to broaden the understanding of the transaction cost analysis (TCA) approach. More than 40 years have passed since Coase's fundamental insight that transaction, coordination, and contracting costs must be considered explicitly in explaining the extent of vertical integration. Coase (1937) forced economists to identify previously neglected constraints on the trading process to foster efficient intrafirm, rather than interfirm, transactions. The transaction cost approach to economic organization study regards transactions as the basic units of analysis and holds that understanding transaction cost economy is central to organizational study. The approach applies to determining efficient boundaries, as between firms and markets, and to internal transaction organization, including employment relations design. TCA, developed principally by Oliver Williamson (1975,1979,1981a) blends institutional economics, organizational theory, and contract law. Further progress in transaction costs research awaits the identification of critical dimensions in which transaction costs differ and an examination of the economizing properties of alternative institutional modes for organizing transactions. The crucial investment distinction is: To what degree are transaction-specific (non-marketable) expenses incurred? Unspecialized items pose few hazards, since buyers can turn toalternative sources, and suppliers can sell output intended for one order to other buyers. Non-marketability problems arise when specific parties' identities have important cost-bearing consequences. Transactions of this kind are labeled idiosyncratic. The summarized results of the review are as follows. First, firms' distribution decisions often prompt examination of the make-or-buy question: Should a marketing activity be performed within the organization by company employees or contracted to an external agent? Second, manufacturers introducing an industrial product to a foreign market face a difficult decision. Should the product be marketed primarily by captive agents (the company sales force and distribution division) or independent intermediaries (outside sales agents and distribution)? Third, the authors develop a theoretical extension to the basic transaction cost model by combining insights from various theories with the TCA approach. Fourth, other such extensions are likely required for the general model to be applied to different channel situations. It is naive to assume the basic model appliesacross markedly different channel contexts without modifications and extensions. Although this study contributes to scholastic research, it is limited by several factors. First, the theoretical perspective of TCA has attracted considerable recent interest in the area of marketing channels. The analysis aims to match the properties of efficient governance structures with the attributes of the transaction. Second, empirical evidence about TCA's basic propositions is sketchy. Apart from Anderson's (1985) study of the vertical integration of the selling function and John's (1984) study of opportunism by franchised dealers, virtually no marketing studies involving the constructs implicated in the analysis have been reported. We hope, therefore, that further research will clarify distinctions between the different aspects of specific assets. Another important line of future research is the integration of efficiency-oriented TCA with organizational approaches that emphasize specific assets' conceptual definition and industry structure. Finally, research of transaction costs, uncertainty, opportunism, and switching costs is critical to future study.

Recently, it is expected that small hydropower (SHP) could potentially provide sufficient amounts of alternative energy in Korea where there is an abundance of potential sites and where social efforts are being made to reduce the emissions of green house gases. In the past, the resources survey for SHP development has been carried out using onsite surveys and paper maps, which incurred a great deal of time and cost. Furthermore, the tools for decision making such as determining development priorities or evaluating feasibility have been considered only economic aspect and focused on the performance characteristics of power generation. However, as the concept of sustainable development has been being advanced in recent years, especially focused on human-social, environmental and ecological in addition to economical sector; the consideration of these multiple criteria has become essential for sustainable SHP development. This study aims to propose the spatial multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methodology for determining priorities among a number of locations on the planning stage of SHP development using AHP and GIS. The proposed methodology is applied for determining development priorities among the SHP locations in Cho River basin and this study presents the detailed spatial information data and the results of development priorities. As a fundamental work, this study will be beneficial to the future activation of SHP development and will help the decision making in evaluating the feasibility of SHP development.
