SFD를 이용한 안전관리에 대한 연구 (A Study of Safety Management Using SFD)

  • The modern industrial society is developing while growing more diverse and gigantic. Accordingly, occupational injuries or accidents can be caused in various situations, not just in the limited range of workplaces but also in the surroundings, and interest has increased in the prevention of occupational accidents with respect to occupational health and safety, and environment. In this paper, we are able to grasp the real meaning of the present appearance of safety management, we propose the safety function depolyment adding laws and regulation.

LP가스의 폭발 현상 및 화염전파에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Explosion Phenomenon and Flame Propagation of LP Gas)

  • LP 가스의 폭발현상 및 위험성을 평가하기 위하여, 산소농도변화와 LP 가스의 농도에 따른 혼합가스 조성을 변화시켜 실험을 행하였다. 산소농도 21%에서 LP 가스의 농도가 증가할수록 폭발하한계는 낮아졌으며, 최소산소농도(MOC, Minimum Oxygen Concentration)는 1.0 bar, 1.5 bar, 2.0 bar에서 각각 14.5%, 12.0%, 11.5%로 낮아졌다. 최대폭발압력은 압력이 증가할 경우 $6.46kg/cm^2,\;9.41kg/cm^2,\;13.49kg/cm^2$로 증가하였으며, LP 가스의 초기압력이 클수록 화염의 전파속도가 증가하였다.

원자력 발전소 온배수 이용 농산물에 대한 소비자 인식조사 (A Study on the Consumers' Perception of Agricultural Products Using Nuclear Power Plants Waste Heat)

  • This study examines consumers' perception of agricultural products using nuclear power plants waste heat. This study surveyed 348 consumers and found that presenting information about safety of waste heat utilization increased appropriacy of waste heat; after providing the information, the percentage of respondents in favor of using waste heat increased 27.5% point from 38.3% to 65.8%. The most important reason against using waste heat was because it threatened the safety of agricultural products, and the most important reason for its support was to reduce farm production costs. The purchase intention for agricultural products using waste heat had risen by at least 10% point after providing the information about safety of waste heat. Those means that it important provision of accurate and reliable information on the safety of waste heat to encourage the utilization of waste heat from nuclear power plants. Purchase intention for flowers using waste heat was most, followed by vegetables, fruits (including fruits and vegetables).

  • Two kinds of sepiolite, a $500^{\circ}C$ heat-treated sepiolite, and a $700^{\circ}C$ heat-treated sepiolite were analyzed for their physicochemical properties. After these sepiolites were instilled into rat lungs, the effects of the substances on lung pathological changes were evaluated. The lungs instilled with sepiolite increased their weight compared with the unexposed control. The pathological examination further showed increased legions of granuloma with early fibrosis. The heat treated sepiolites, however, did not show any toxicological differences from the untreated sepiolites. Thus chronic experiments are needed to evaluate the durability of mineral fibers, which is an essential experiment for evaluating biopersistence of fibers in lungs.

  • Dietary life of Korean population was greatly improved by the increased food production, enlarged food processing and betterment of food distribution system during the last three decades. On the other hand, food pollution issues have arisen from the increased use of chemicals and advancements in analytical techniques and toxicological information. The health risk of hazardous substances in Korean diet was estimated to be in the decreasing order of heavy metals>pesticide residues>food additives>mycotoxins>radionuclides>PCBs whereas consumers do not recognize it in the same order. It is needed to evaluate the food safety more accurately based on scientific evidences and to adopt reasonable regulatory measures in Korea for the benefits of people's health and national interest.

As a result, the interest of the related local government and agencies has increased on utilizing disused railway yards. In this study, we investigated the status of the disused railway yards and conducted legal review on the use of disused railway yards. In addition, we analyzed the disused railway yards use practices through case analysis and also suggested plans to diversify the ways of their usage.

Development of Performance Testing Tool for Railway Signaling System Software

  • The computer application on embedded system is recently more increased in accordance of the development of computer technology. In this trend, the depending of SW in embedded system, especially railway signaling system, is being increased further. So the testing for the safety of railway signaling system software became more important. Hence, the safety assurance of the vital software on the railway signaling system is very important but yet, not many works have been done. In this paper, we represented the implementation results of development of performance testing tool in railway signaling system. The implemented testing item had referred to the international standards in relation to the software for railway system, such as IEC 61508 and IEC 62279.

Ti-42.5at.%Ni-10at.%Cu합금의 형상기억특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shape Memory Characteristic Behaviors of Ti-42.5at%Ni-10at.% Cu Alloys)

  • Shape memory recoverable stress and strain of Ti-42.5at%Ni-10at%Cu alloys were measured by means of constant temperature tensile tests. The alloys' transformation behavior is B2 - B19 by DSC result. The strain by tensile stress were perfectly recovered by heating at any testing conditions but shape memory recoverable stress increased to 66MPa and then slightly decreased. Transformation temperatures from thermal cycling under constant uniaxial applied tensile loads linearly increased by increasing tensile load and their thermal hysteresis are about 110K and their maximum recoverable strain is 6.5% at 100MPa condition.

가스계 청정소화약제의 소화특성과 첨가제에 따른 영향 (Flame Extinguishing Characteristics of Clean Gaseous Agents and Effects of Additives)

  • Halon was known as a cause of the ozone layer destruction. In 1987, it was designated as one of the ozone-layer-destroying materials in the Montreal Protocol. Therefore substitutes of Halon agent has been developed including inert gas extinguish system, which is one of the most widely used fire extinguishing system. This study intended to increase the efficiency of inert gas extinguishing agent by using inert gas additives. As IG-541 shows high extinguishing power, the experiment was performed to measure the effects of gaseous additives to it. Cup-burner fire extinguishing apparatus was used with n-Heptane fuel. Among many of pure inert gaseous agents, Helium showed the most excellent extinguishing power. When Helium was added to IG-541, fire extinguishing power was increased and the concentration of oxygen in chimney also risen. By adding Helium to IG-541, the effectiveness of inert gas fire extinguishing system is able to be increased.
