  • The cultivation area of rice as staple grains is decreasing in the domestic situation in Korea. Import volume of a duty in foreign rice is 409,000 tons for a year regardless increasing of production per unit area and decreasing of rice consumption. The total stock of rice is increasing cumulatively despite the effort for production mediation of rice. Therefore, maintenance of cultivation area and reduction of production are necessary for national foodstuffs security problems. Development of environment-friendly and low-carbon technology as alternative of global warming and aging of farm labor power is very important responsibility for descendants with creation of sustainable agriculture environment. As alternative for demand and supply stabilization of rice from all angles, first stage: extension of environment-friendly cultivation area as 17% Jeollanam-do level with maintenance of cultivation area under the present circumstances, second stage: extension of environment-friendly cultivation area as 25%, third stage: extension of environment-friendly cultivation area as 35%. From above mentioned scenario, reduction of rice production (60,000 tons), increases of production cost (59,200,000,000 Won), and reduction of income (201,500,000,000 Won) are estimated in first stage. Reduction of rice production (90,000 tons), increases of production cost (122,100,000,000 Won), and reduction of income (313,700,000,000 Won) are estimated in second stage. Reduction of rice production (380,000 tons), increases of production cost (222,000,000,000 Won), and reduction of income (464,500,000,000 Won) are estimated in third stage. From analysis results for partial tillage in transplanting cultivation complex (10ha), rice production is decreased 1.3~1.5 ton by complex. Production cost of rice is decreased and increases of income cultivation type. Gradual extension of environment-friendly agriculture and low-carbon partial tillage could be expected for environment maintenance of the territorial integrity, confidence of consumer, and high-efficiency of low-cost.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify through empirical analysis about factors affecting the period of job maintenance of workers with cerebral palsy. Based on this, workers with cerebral palsy are looking for ways to maintain their job continuously. For this purpose, this study identifies the general characteristics and verify the affect of demographic factors, disability-related factors, employment-related factors, and social environment factors on the job maintenance period of workers with cerebral palsy. For the analysis, frequency analysis, descriptivel analysis, T-test and One-way Anova was conducted for 233 persons with cerebral palsy. The results of the study, of 17 variables of the four factors affecting the job maintenance period, 15 variables obtained statistically significant results. First, the demographic variables were age, household income, marital status, and education level. Second, the disability-related variables were disability grade, disability cause, and communication ability. Third, the employment-related variables were wage, employment type, disability-related organizations and companies, job type, job training, and qualification. Fourth, the social environment variables were assistive technology devices, and labor support personnel services.

  • This study aims to categorize the daily time use of older adults into different types, examine the factors influencing them and the differences between them by type, and verify the effect of each type on life satisfaction. From the 6th wave of the Korea Retirement and Income Study (KeRIS), analysis was conducted on 3,963 older adults aged 65 (n=3,963). Using Latent Profile Analysis (LPA), three types of daily time use for older adults were identified: basic life maintenance type (16%), free-leisure oriented type (26%), and social activity type (58%). From the results of multinomial logistic regression analysis to identify the factors influencing each type of daily time use, it was found that the main factors influencing free-leisure oriented type, when compared with basic life maintenance type, were the presence of spouse (p<.01) and psychological health status (p<.001). The main factors influencing social activity type, when compared with basic life maintenance type, were age (p<.05), economic activity (p<.001), and chronic disease (p<.001). The life satisfaction seen during free-leisure oriented time and social activity time was higher than that during basic life maintenance time. From these findings, practical and policy proposals were suggested to improve life satisfaction of older adults during basic life maintenance time by pursuing changes in the use of that time.

  • Using water in each apartment is influnced by several facters including the income level of inhabitants, the manner of life, the area apartments and climate. The automization of santory machines or facilites in recently bulit apartements has caused largely increases in amount of water use. Therefore the design for water supply is very important for the maintenance of the optimum level or pressure of water supply. This study is based on the offer of basic data for improving the quality of water supply and imploying the sanitory machine or sanitory facilites by analysis of amount increased of water use rapidly. The quantity of hot and cold water use by year is examined as a factor of construction in apartment.

Research methodology adopted is a questionnaire method. There were interviewed 281 adult residents selected from 34 villages in Yeongdong-gun(mountainous), Miryang-si(middle), and Gochang-gun(plain). Results of the study are as follows: 1) Increase of income and land prices in mountainous and middle regions by the rural road project is higher than in plain; 2) Most inconvenient road expressed by the interviewee is the one linking farm and residence and 3) The problems of rural roads derived are narrowness, unpavement and partial pavement, unreliable maintenance, and long construction time. In order to meet the community needs on rural roads, it may be necessary that community people participate in the process of the project. And it is desirable to put priority on expanding and paving existing roads rather than constructing new one.

  • In Korea, the rental apartments for low-income bracket have greatly been built and are being built now. But their management system is quite unstable and the residents' participation in the management is excluded throughly from the beginning. As a result, there are increasing complaints about their low quality of management as well as a self-righteous managerial behavior by the housing company. Therefore, it is required to be managed by residents in the rental apartmenr and especially the organization of management, such as decision making-executing-audition body, should be operated by the residents. To achieve this purpose, the management law should be consolidated into one and the method o imposing the expenses of repairing and maintenance should be improved by The Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
