A comprehensive study was provided to investigate the buckling behavior of the steel plates with and without through-thickness holes subjected to uniaxial compression using ABAQUS. The method was validated by the results reported in the literature. Using the critical stresses, the buckling coefficients ($K_c$) were calculated. The effects of inclusion of material nonlinearity, plate thickness (t), aspect ratio (AR), and initial imperfection on buckling resistance of the plate was studied. Besides, the effects of having the hole in the plate were also studied. The diameter of the hole was normalized by dividing by plate breadth and was given in the form of ${\alpha}$. Results showed that perforating one hole in the center of a plate increases the plate buckling resistance while the having two holes resulted in a decrease in the plate buckling resistance. The effects of hole eccentricity (Ecc) on the buckling resistance of the plate was studied. The position of the hole center was normalized by half of the plate breadth and length in X- and Y-directions, respectively. In this study, four cases of boundary conditions were considered, and the corresponding buckling behavior were studied combined with plate aspect ratio. It was observed that the boundary condition of the case I resulted in the highest buckling resistance. Finally, a comparison was made between the buckling behavior of the uniaxially and biaxially loaded plate. It was revealed that the buckling resistance of a biaxially loaded plate is lower half than half of that of the uniaxially loaded plate.
Purpose Through the provision of real time performance information about who is contributing and who is not in Electronic Brainstorming, prior studies evidenced a significant performance gain. However, it has been observed that the quantity-based performance feedback alone does not have enough restrictiveness to guide the performance behavior throughout the idea generation session. We included the notion of goal setting into the process performance feedback mechanism in an effort to regulate performance behavior and to better understand why individuals in Electronic Brainstorming are not obtaining enough stimulation benefits in the group interaction process. Design/methodology/approach We had developed real-time visual process performance feedback and modified to include goal setting. This mechanism visually displays individuals' performances two-dimensionally (quality for each idea vertically and quantity of ideas horizontally along with their goals). As individuals' contributions accumulate, the mechanism reveals performance histories by connecting the sequence of ideas in a time-series format, telling stories of individuals' performances. Then, we compared the performance outcome from this study with the outcomes from two prior studies (i.e., Jung et al., 2010 and Jung, 2014). Findings The results showed that the inclusion of goal setting into the process performance feedback solved the issue in the previous study. That was the lower than expected magnitude of performance enhancement of process performance feedback when compared to that of quantity-based feedback. It appears that goals as a motivational technique provide standards for systematic self-evaluation, serving as a cue to regulate performance behavior by strengthening the linkage between effort and performance. Thus, goals seem to set up a self-fulfilling prophecy, preconditioning better performance. However, the outcome still showed that its performance magnitude is unsatisfactory because the outcome of this study turned out to be close to the outcome of just quantity-based performance feedback in Jung et al.'s (2010) study.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the mental health promotion program based on Positive Psychology for adolescents with problem behavior. Methods: The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Eligible participants were first grade students in two high schools in K Province. The inclusion criteria for the study were those with scores in the upper 15% on the Korean Youth Self-Report. A total of 74 participants were assigned to an 8-session program (n=38) or to a control (n=36) group. The outcome variables were psychological well-being, depression, and self-esteem. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in demographic variables or outcome variables, except self-esteem, between the two groups at the baseline. The experimental group had higher mean scores on psychological well-being and self-esteem and a lower mean score on depression. There were significant differences in psychological well-being (t=3.45, p=.001), self-esteem (F=5.45, p=.022), and depression (t=-2.80, p=.007) between the two groups. Conclusion: The mental health promotion program based on Positive Psychology was effective in decreasing depression as well as improving psychological well-being and self-esteem for adolescents with problem behavior. This study contributes to suggesting a framework for promoting mental health for high school students with problem behavior.
Purpose: The theory of planned behavior (TPB) was used to investigate how the psychological constructs of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control (PBC) affect the individual intention of behaviors in adults. Social support is also important in enabling the stability of healthy eating. This study examined the relationship between three major constructs of TPB as well as social support and the intention of healthy dietary behaviors in adults residing in Beijing, China using the extended TPB. Methods: The study questionnaire was based on previously validated items and an online survey was conducted from October to November 2020. Using a total of 244 Chinese adults in Beijing, multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the relationships between three major constructs of TPB as well as the social support and intention of healthy eating. Results: Among the three major constructs of TPB, subjective norms (p = 0.044) and PBC (p = 0.000) were significantly related to the behavioral intention of healthy eating (p = 0.000), and the model explained 76.6% of the variance of the behavioral intention from the three constructs of TPB included in the multiple linear regression model. The additional inclusion of social support to the model did not increase the explanatory power of the model to describe the behavioral intention of healthy eating. The subjective norms (p = 0.040) and PBC (p = 0.000) were still significant where social support did not explain the variance of the behavioral intention adequately. Conclusion: The subjective norms and PBC may be potential determinants of the behavioral intention of healthy eating in adults residing in Beijing, China. These study results can be used to promote healthy eating in Chinese adults living in urban areas. Large-scale intervention studies will be needed to determine if social norms and PBC predict the actual behaviors of healthy eating in Chinese adults.
Previous research on loyalty program has verified the factors that influence redemption behavior and the understanding of the mechanism of redemption behavior with academic and practical implications. However, these research has not proven boundary conditions in which the phenomena can be strengthened or weakened- that is, the moderating effect remains unclear. The inclusion of moderating variables can provide a more extensive understanding of the mechanism of this behavior from academic and managerial perspectives alike. Therefore, this current research proposes regulatory focus as a moderating variable, which has received scarce attention in the study of loyalty program behavior, especially individual characteristic variables that, in turn, affect the consumers' purchasing behavior in various ways. Previous research on consumer decision making investigates the differential role of regulatory focus as a series of stages. Regulatory focus theory posits that people depend on the two types of regulatory focus when pursuing goals: promotion focus vs. prevention focus. The former induces tendencies to recognize a goal as a hope and ideal, as something that satisfies the need for accomplishment, and to be sensitive to the presence of a positive outcome of the match and to match the pursuit of goals. On the other hand, the latter tends to regard a goal as the responsibility or obligation to achieve the goal, has a tendency to avoid failure to meet a target, and is sensitive to the presence of the negative consequences that do not reach the target. The following propositions are suggested: 1) The effect of higher accumulation effort level on delaying point redemption speed will be relatively more pronounced for customers with prevention focus. 2) The effect of higher accumulation effort level on large redemption unit size will be relatively more pronounced for customers with prevention focus. 3) The effect of higher accumulation effort level on hedonic redemption ratio will be relatively more pronounced for customers with promotion focus. Therefore, this research provides a moderating variable that has the potential to be used as a reference for market segmentation and affects the relationship between point accumulation effort and three sides of point redemption behavior. On this basis, the direction for the future research on this issue is recommended. Future research could verify these propositions conducting a survey of customers' propensity of regulatory focus in conjunction with the history of the loyalty program of data. This would provide a more realistic effect on the usage behavior of loyalty program consumers by providing useful implications for both marketing practitioners and researchers.
Films of methylcellulose(MC), chitosan and their blends were prepared using water and acid solution as a solvent. The transition behavior and miscibility of polymers and their blends were characterized by dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The DMA analysis of PEG400/MC blends has shown that PEG400 was compatible with MC and was effective plasticizer since the curves of $tan{\delta}$ against temperature exhibited single peak, corresponding to single glass transition temperature, which were displaced to lower values with increasing PEG400 content. Results of DMA analysis and TGA analysis of MC/chitosan blends indicate that there are some miscibility between MC and chitosan in the blends, attributed to the similarities between two polysaccharides and interactions of two polymers in the blends. The inclusion of PEG400 in the blends increase the miscibility between two components in the blends.

This paper describes a reinforced concrete crack model, which utilizes a strain decomposition technique. The strain decomposition technique enables the explicit inclusion of physical behavior across the cracked concrete surface such as aggregate interlock and dowel action rather than intuitively defining the shear retention factor. The proposed concrete crack model is integrated into the commercial finite element software ABAQUS shell elements through a user-supplied material subroutine. The FE results have been compared to experimental results reported by other researchers. The proposed bridge FE model is capable of predicting the initial cracking load level, the ultimate load capacity, and the crack pattern with good accuracy.
Shielded metal arc welding, one-ploe and two-pole submerged arc welding were accomplished to investigate microstructure changes on phase transformation behavior in $60kg/mm^2$ quenched and tempered high strength steel. Microstructures were examined by optical micrograph and TEM. In shielded metal arc welding (oxygen 250ppm), the inclusions were small size (0.3-0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$)and small in number. In submerged arc welding (oxygen 430-529ppm), the inclusions were larger(0.7-2$\mu\textrm{m}$) than that of shielded metal arc welding and large in number. Microstructure mainly depends on number and distribution of inclusions in fusion zone of weld metal. It was noticed that a limited number of inclusions favors the formation of acicular ferrite.
We investigated the fatigue crack propagation of base metal, weld metal and heat attected zone in 316L stainless steel. And we analysed acoustic emission signals during the fatigue test by time-frequency analysis method. The specimens of weld metal and HAZ had longer fatigue life and slower rate of crack propagation better than base metal. And as a result of time-frequency was 200-300 kHz was obtained by fatigue crack propagation and 500 kHz was obtained by dimple and separate of inclusion.

This paper presents a comprehensive review of recent advances in ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). Fundamental characteristics of UHPC are elaborated with focus on its material constituents, mixing, and formulation procedures. Use of state-of-the-art materials such as carbon nanotubes or nano-silica is discussed as well, whose inclusion may enhance the performance of UHPC. The review evaluates supplementary treatment methods (e.g., pressuring curing) and identifies applicable standard test methods for determining the properties and behavior of UHPC. Site implementation is provided to link laboratory research with full-scale application. Research needs are suggested to further develop UHPC technologies from technical and socio-economical perspectives.
