This experimental study is about the flow characteristics according to existence and nonexistence of the control rod and location in the flow field where it has the Inclined rear walls in the open cavity. By using the visualization of flow and particle image velocimetry (PIV), we performed about a change and speed of the Reynolds number. Our objective was what part of the control rod gives less effects to the characteristics of flow and how the shear mixing layer moves at what critical point of the Reynolds number. As a result, we differed the location of control rod. So finally, L/H=0.2 was discovered to give less effects to the cavity. The flow of backside of vortex faces the upper side. And we found that this phenomenon shows up more clear when the number of Reynolds increases. This is because of the flow of vortex causes by the condition of y/H=1.0. This phenomenon gets more clear with increasing of number of Reynolds, and critical point of the Reynolds number was $Re=1.0{\times}10^4$ around. If control rod is L/H=0.1, depending on the number of Reynolds ($Re=6.0{\times}10^3$, $Re=8.0{\times}10^3$, $Re=1.0{\times}10^4$, $Re=1.2{\times}10^4$), doubled vortex shows up. As the shear mixing layer of the upper side of cavity increases, the speed of the lower side was very stable.

Statement of the problem: In cases of low bone level in maxilla followed by extraction due to severe periodontitis or enlarged maxillary sinus, crown-root ratio of implant prosthesis will increase. The prognosis of these cases is not good as expected. Purpose : The purpose is to compare stress distribution due to crown-root ratio and effect of splinting between two implants in maxillary molar area under different loads Material and methods: Using ITI($4.1{\times}10$ mm) implant. two finite element models were made(model S: two parallel implants, model A: one of two is 20 degree inclined). Each model was designed in different crown-root ratio(0.7:1, 1:1, 1.25:1) and set cement type gold crown to make it splinted or non-splinted clinical situations. After that, 300 N force was loaded to each model in four ways.(load 1 : middle of occlusal table, load 2 : middle of buccal cusp, load 3 : middle of lingual cusp, load 4 : horizontal load to middle of buccal cusp), and stress distribution was analyzed. Results: On all occasions, stress was concentrated on neck of implant near cortical bone. In the case of inclined implant, stress was increased compared with parallel implants. Under load 1, 2, 3, stress was not increased even when crown-root ratio increases, but under load 4, when crown-root ratio increases, stress also increased. And more stress was concentrated under load 1 than load 2, 3. When crown-root ratio was same, stress under load 1, 2, 3 decreased when splinting, but under load 4, stress did not really decrease. Conclusion: Under vertical load, stress distribution related to crown-root ratio did not change. But under horizontal load, stress increased as crown-root ratio increases. Under vertical load, splinting decreased stress but under horizontal load, effect of splinting was decreased as condition of implant changes for the worse such as increase of crown-root ratio, inclined implant.

A self-supported temporary excavation method called IER is normally applicable to excavation depth ranging from 6.0 m to 7.0 m though the method depends on ground condition and overburden load. Combining IER with another method is required in deeper excavation depth in order to maintain the structural stability of the IER. In this study, we performed model tests and 3D FE analysis to check the stability of the IER adopting soil nailing method, and to propose its effective installation method. The lateral displacement of the IER using soil nailing decreased by 92% of that of IER without soil nailing. Optimum design is possible for both economic feasibility and stability when interval spacing and length of soil nails is $1.5m(S_h){\times}0.75m(S_v)$ and 86% of excavation depth, respectively. Excavation depth using IER increases 1.71 times by adopting soil nailing in increment of lateral displacement of IER right before the last excavation stage.

In this study, we proposed modified settling basins transformed by substituting the downstream sill for low head weirs such as generic labyrinth weir and inclined crest labyrinth weir worked as internal baffles. Laboratory experiments were carried out to understand hydraulic characteristics inside of the settling basin to improve the efficiency of sedimentation rate. For a quantitative analysis, we suggested the headwater ratio($H_t/P$), the magnification ratio(L/W) and the inflow rate per total crest length($q_L$) as primary analysis indexes for sedimentation efficiency. Six different types of settling basin were used for labscaled pilot tests by distinguishing with internal structures. Based on results, the variation of headwater ratio with the change of magnification ratio would highly affect the deposition efficiency(%) and it was improved under specific condition that repeating arrange number(N) of labyrinth weir was between 2 and 4. Also, the regression analysis showed that initial condition and shape for improving sedimentation efficiency were plotted on the graph for both $q_L{\geq}3.5cm^2/s$ and $L/W{\leq}3.5$. It would be expected that the geometrically optimized labyrinth settling basin could be designed with proper deposition efficiency for inflow rates of influent and required area of settling basin utilizing the proposed analysis index in this study.

An experimental analysis using three-dimensional Laser Doppler Velocimetry(LDV) measurement and computational analysis using the Reynolds stress model in FLUENT are conducted to give a clear understanding of the effect of blade loading on the structure of tip leakage flow in a forward-swept axial-flow fan operating at the maximum efficiency condition ($\Phi$=0.25) and two off-design conditions ($\Phi$=0.21 and 0.30). As the blade loading increases, the onset position of the rolling-up of tip leakage flow moves upstream and the trajectory of tip leakage vortex center is more inclined toward the circumferential direction. Because the casing boundary layer becomes thicker and the mixing between the through-flow and the leakage jet with the different flow direction is enforced, the streamwise vorticity decays more fast with the blade loading increasing. A distinct tip leakage vortex is observed downstream of the blade trailing edge at $\Phi$=0.30, but it is not observed at $\Phi$=0.21 and 0.25.

Generally, load conditions of machine or structure in fatigue destruction is occurred not under single load conditions but under mixed load conditions. However, the experiment under mixing mode is insufficient because of no having test standard to the behavior of crack under mixing mode and variety of test methods, and many tests are required. In this paper measured crack direction path by created figure capture system when a experiment. Also, we studied by comparison the behavior of crack giving the change of stress ratio and inserting beach mark. Through the test under mixing mode, advancing path of crack is indicated that advancing inclined angle ${\Theta}$ (direction of specimen length) has increased depending on the increase of mixed mode impaction. It is indicated that according to the increase of mixed mode loading condition impaction under mixing mode, advancing speed of crack gets slow. Also, we found that inner crack(cross section of specimen) is progressed more rapidly than outer crack based on data through beach mark.

In this paper, a compact antenna assembly for an amplitude comparison direction-finding(DF) method for a small flight vehicle is presented. Designed antenna assembly consists of four antennas and it is mounted on a radius of 1.45 λc where λc corresponds to the wavelength of the center frequency. To achieve compactness and robustness of the assembly, the elements are fed by end-launch feeding method and have modified aperture shapes of E- or H-sectoral horns. The feeding part consists of SMA connector, stepped impedance matching structure, and square waveguide of 0.6 λc × 0.6 λc. To achieve different main beam directions for every antenna which is required condition for amplitude comparison DF method, all apertures of the antennas are inclined and it makes the main beam direction of each antenna to top, bottom, left, and right with respect to the axis of the platform. To verify the validation of DF performance of the presented antenna assembly, amplitude comparison curves using measurement results are presented. The bandwidth of the antennas are above 3.2 % in Ku-band(VSWR ≤ 2:1).
A method of the region extraction and recognition of a speed sign in the real road environment is proposed. The region of speed sign is extracted by using color information and then numbers are segmented in the region. We improve the recognition rate by performing an incline compensation of the speed sign for directions clockwise and counterclockwise. In image sequences of the real road environment, a robust recognition results are achieved with speed signs at normal condition as well as inclined.

Surface heat transfer of a fully developed turbulent air flow in a $45^{\circ}$ inclined ribbed square duct with two and four heating walls was experimentally investigated, at which the experimental works were performed for Reynolds numbers ranging from 7,600 to 24,900. The pitch-to-rib height ratio, p/e was kept at 8 and rib-height-to-channel hydraulic diameter ratio, $e/D_h$ was kept at 0.0667. The channel length-to-hydraulic diameter ratio, $L/D_h$ was 60. The heat transfer coefficient values were decreased with the increase in the number of heating walls. Results of this investigation could be used in various applications of internal channel turbulent flow involving roughened walls.
The Purpose of this study was to analyze the stresses and displacements of various post and core. The Finite element models of central incisors were divided into seven types according to the various amount of remaining tooth structures. $10kgf/mm^2$ force was applied respectively as follows : 1) Horizontal on the labial surface 2) $26^{\circ}$ diagonal direction on the lingual surface. Material property, geometry, and load condition of each model were inputted to the two dimensional ANSYS 4.4A finite element program : stresses and displacements were analyzed. Results were follows : 1. In the case of $130^{\circ}$ shoulder post and core, Maximum tensile and shear stresses were observed in the crown margin. 2. Maximum shear stress was about 29% reduced by contrabevel. 3. In the case of 1mm axial tooth structure, Maximum tensile stress observed in the dentin. 4. In the case of but joint of cervix, Maximum stress concentration was observed in the dentin by the inclined and horizontal force. 5. Horizontal force produced the extraordinary high stresses in dentin and supporting structures. 6. The amount of remaining tooth structure affected the level of stress significantly and it determined the location of stress concentration.
