  • The globalized modern society has facilitated the borderless travel which always starts and ends at the airport. The airport now serves the gateway in spreading and delivering the culture, beyond the role of simply providing assistance to the transport means. Nowaday, the nations throughout the world expand the existing facilities or build the new airport competitively as the medium to link the travel and modern community as well as the symbolism of economic and technical improvement and it has been developed as a huge industry creating a high added value, beyond the simple transport services. Incheon International Airport has already been recognized as the world-class airport but still has a long way to go. It's necessary to develop the comprehensive cultural and art concept for sustainable value creation, instead of remaining as the airport with sophisticated facilities alone.

  • An Airport is important space and even stands for the country because diverse people from other countries use a variety of facilities in the gateway to the country. Therefore, It is urgent for those people to increase efficiency and convenience of its usage and also. It's worth accumulating those know-how and technologies. In this situation, Incheon International Airport aiming to be a hub of north-east Asia need to focus more on restructuring general process of passenger's travel based on PI perspectives then simply improving a process of passenger's travel and have been trying to realize the process based on Innovation perspectives with following precess innovation consisting 5 steps And to conclude, this study will help Incheon International Airport to be innovative in a system of passenger's travel service related to a utility of airport and then achieve a hub Airport of North-East Asia.

  • According to the aviational definition, the fog is an obscuration phenomenon when prevailing visibility becomes less than 1,000m. Fog defined above causes so many aviation traffic problems like detour, flight delay and cancel. Therefore this study investigated quantitatively the fog effects on flight operation using flight delay and cancel statistic data during last four years from 1st Jul. 2001 to 30th Jun. 2005 at the Incheon Int'l Airport. The results of this study show that the hazardous meteorological condition is a important cause of flight delay and cancel, especially fog phenomenon. And it is expected that the results of this study give us the necessary and importance of fog prediction at the Incheon Int'l Airport.

  • The roof grid of single-layer space frame structure, for Energy Core of Incheon Airport Second Terminal, is very simple and aesthetic, but it is apt to buckle under external force because of mild curvature and complex shape. The object of this study is to estimate the stability of single-layer space frame structures for Energy Core of Incheon Airport Second Terminal with the analytical conditions of structural design. The results show that the buckling load of model(pin-pin, uniform load, rigid joint), that is, the most similar model to the analytical conditions of structural design. was $10.7kN/m^2$.

  • 면세점 판매 채널이 다양화되고 스마트 여객 증대 등 쇼핑 성향의 변화로 인해 인천공항 면세점 객단가는 하락하고 있다. 면세점 매출액 감소에 따라 사업 다각화 및 고도화 등 대응 노력이 필요하다. 따라서 인천공항 면세점 이용객의 쇼핑 행태 및 면세점 트렌드 변화에 적기 대응을 위한 기초자료 및 마케팅 강화 방안을 제시하는 데 궁극적인 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 인천공항 면세점 내·외국인 구매자/비구매자, 환승객을 대상으로 쇼핑실태를 심층 조사하여 행동 특성을 분석하였으며, 그 결과 내국인과 외국인, 환승객별로 인구통계학 특성, 여행 특성, 쇼핑 특성에서 차이가 나타났다. 인천공항 면세점 이용객별 중요하게 인지하는 요소와 만족하는 요소를 파악하고 개선할 부분을 파악하였다. 이로써 인천공항 면세점 운영정책 수립 및 기본방향 설정을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있고, 인천공항 면세점 마케팅 강화 및 활성화를 위한 전략 방안을 제시하는 데 의의가 있다.

  • Aircraft parking stand is a place separated by a pavement marking so that aircraft can park in the apron. If there is not an aircraft parking stand available for aircraft just arrived, the aircraft has to wait for a stand becomes empty on taxi lane taxiway, which annoys passengers, and deteriorates the congestion in the airport. Therefore, it is important to provide adequate parking stands in planning process. In this study, we studied the maximum number of aircraft parking stands required in the past, and estimated the future requirements, for Incheon International airport.

  • 본 논문에서는 인천공항 Airside와 Landside에 위치한 자산의 효율적인 관리를 위한 사물인터넷(IoT) 기반 스마트 자산관리 시스템의 구성과 실증을 제시한다. IoT기반 스마트 자산관리시스템은 위치정보를 생성하는 IoT 태그와 게이트웨이, 수집된 위치정보를 수신하고 표출하는 서버로 구성되어 있으며, IoT 태그를 자산에 부착하여 자산의 실내외 위치정보를 자산관리 시스템에서 실시간으로 확인할 수 있다. 실내 위치정보는 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)를 통해 취득하며, 실외 위치정보는 GPS와 LoRa(Long Range)를 통해 취득 가능하다. 개발한 시스템의 성능 검증을 위해 인천공항 제1여객터미널 내 기설치된 AP를 활용하였으며, 공항 전역을 커버할 수 있는 LoRa Gateway를 설치하였다. 개발한 자산관리 시스템은 공항이 보유한 자산의 도난 방지 등 효율적인 관리 와 공항운영에 기여할 것으로 예상된다.

An Weather Analysis for Selection of the Aircraft Category F's Alternative Airport (F급 항공기 교체공항 선정을 위한 기상분석)

  • This paper is part of the research about the selection and justification of Jeju international airport as an aircraft category 'F' alternative airport, which is the results of an weather analysis based on meteorological statistics. As the results of the study, it has been only 1 day per year (58minutes) that weather conditions of Incheon and Jeju international airports, from January 2006 to June 2011, are below landing weather minimums of each airport at the same times. This means that these airports are not within the same meteorological region, which is against the current orthodoxy. In addition, it is very rare that weather conditions of Jeju international airports are below landing weather minimums when Incheon international airport is below landing weather minima. It shows that the meteorological characteristics of these regions differ widely and the designation of Jeju international airport as an alternative airport is scientifically reasonable.

  • Demand for air transportation in Korea keeps increasing, and the number of airport operations also grows as a result. The major two airports in Korea, Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport, share the metropolitan airspace, which is crowd with air traffic. As air traffic increases in the metropolitan airspace, the demand for the airport operations would outnumber the capacities of these airports. However, there is a room to efficiently manage the shortage of the airport capacity due to the different distributions of operations in these airports. This study presents a dynamic slot allocation that allows exchanging slots according to the traffic demand. The dynamic allocation mitigates the airports' capacity problem but the airspace capacity itself should be increased in order to tackle the problem fundamentally.
