Risk exists in all construction projects and resides among the collection of subcontractors and their array of individual activities. Wherever risk resides, the interrelation of participants to one another becomes paramount for the way in which risk is measured. Inherent risk becomes recognizable and quantifiable within network schedules in the form of consuming float - the flexibility to absorb delays. Allocating, owning, valuing, and expending such float in network schedules has been debated since the inception of the critical path method itself. This research investigates the foundational element of a three-part approach that examines how float can be traded as a commodity, a concept whose promise remains unfulfilled for lack of a holistic approach. The Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) of financial portfolio theory, which describes the relationship between risk and expected return of individual stocks, is explored as an analogy to quantify the inherent risk of the participants in construction projects. The inherent relationship between them and their impact on overall schedule performance, defined as schedule risk -the likelihood of failing to meet schedule plans and the effect of such failure, is matched with the use of CAPM's beta component - the risk correlation measure of an individual stock to that of the entire market - to determine parallels with respect to the inner workings and risks represented by each entity or activity within a schedule. This correlation is the initial theoretical extension that is required to identify where risk resides within construction projects, allocate and commoditize it, and achieve actual tradability.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of H$_2$ pressure on partial discharge (PD) activity and aging rate in turbine generator winding insulations. A series of field tests and laboratory tests were peformed to investigate the effect of $H_2$ pressure on PD activity. Field tests were conducted at two unit turbine generators in two conditions, in $H_2$ pressure and in air atmosphere. Obtained results are as follows ; 1) ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$ and maximum partial discharge are reduced with increase of $H_2$ pressure and partial discharge inception voltage. 2) The reduction ratio of ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$ due to $H_2$ pressure is higher than one of PD magnitude. 3) Partial discharge pulses suffer from attenuation and distortion when transmitted along windings, because of the complex L-C network between windings. From the result, partial discharge pulses are subjected to resonance phenomena in a generator winding.
Genomics & Informatics (NLM title abbreviation: Genomics Inform) is the official journal of the Korea Genome Organization. Herein, we conduct a statistical analysis of the publications of Genomics & Informatics over the 16 years since its inception, with a particular focus on issues relating to article categories, word clouds, and the most-studied genes, drawing on recent reviews of the use of word frequencies in journal articles. Trends in the studies published in Genomics & Informatics are discussed both individually and collectively.
Proteolysis in eukaryotic cells is mainly mediated by the ubiquitin (Ub)-proteasome system (UPS) and the autophagy-lysosome system (hereafter autophagy). The UPS is a selective proteolytic system in which substrates are recognized and tagged with ubiquitin for processive degradation by the proteasome. Autophagy is a bulk degradative system that uses lysosomal hydrolases to degrade proteins as well as various other cellular constituents. Since the inception of their discoveries, the UPS and autophagy were thought to be independent of each other in components, action mechanisms, and substrate selectivity. Recent studies suggest that cells operate a single proteolytic network comprising of the UPS and autophagy that share notable similarity in many aspects and functionally cooperate with each other to maintain proteostasis. In this review, we discuss the mechanisms underlying the crosstalk and interplay between the UPS and autophagy, with an emphasis on substrate selectivity and compensatory regulation under cellular stresses.
This paper describes the design and fabrication of a partial discharge(PD) analyzer to evaluate insulation performance for low-voltage electrical and electronic devices. The analyzer consists of an adjustable AC power supply, a coupling network, an amplifier, a shielding encloser, a sample-hold (S/H) circuit and a data acquisition (DAQ) board. The analyzer holds the height of PD pulse for $10{\mu}s$ by the S/H circuit, and this makes possible to measure PD pulses having fast rise and short duration by a low speed analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. The data are transmitted to the personal computer through the DAQ board, and the designed analysis program calculate apparent charges, discharge inception and extinction voltages.
Oral cancer is a type of cancer that has a high possibility to be cured if it is threatened earlier. The convolutional neural network is very popular for being a good algorithm for image recognition. In this research, we try to compare 4 different architectures of the CNN algorithm: Convnet, VGG16, Inception V3, and Resnet. As we compared those 4 architectures we found that VGG16 and Resnet model has better performance with an 85.35% accuracy rate compared to the other 3 architectures. In the future, we are sure that image recognition can be more developed to identify oral cancer earlier.
After its inception in 1994, the Journal of the Microelectronics and Packaging Society has continued to make significant strides in the number and quality of publications within its field. The interest in the microelectronics and packaging research has become more critical as consumer electronic products continue its increasing trend towards thinner and lighter devices that tests the boundaries of electronic devices. This study utilizes social network analysis of all published literature in the Journal for the past 22 years. Using the keywords and abstracts available within each individual article, the publications within the Journal has focused on major topics covering (1) flip chip, (2) reliability, (3) Cu, (4) IMC (intermetallic compounds), and (5) thin film. Using the social network relationship between keywords within articles, flip chip was closely associated with reliability, BGA (ball grid array), contact resistance, electromigration in many of the published research works within the Journal. From the centrality analysis, it was found that flip chip, reliability, Cu, thin film, IMC, and RF (radio frequency) to have a high degree of centrality suggesting these key areas of research have relatively high connectivity with other research topics within the Journal and is central to many of the research fields within the micro-electronics and packaging area. The cohesiveness analysis showed research clustering of five major cohesive sub-groups and was mapped to better understand the major area of research within this field. Research within the field of micro-electronics and packaging converges many disciplines of science and engineering. The continued evolution within this field requires an understanding of the rapidly changing industry environment and the consumer needs.

Single image super-resolution (SISR) is an image processing technique, and its main target is to reconstruct the high-quality or high-resolution (HR) image from the low-quality or low-resolution (LR) image. Currently, deep learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) image super-resolution approaches achieved remarkable improvement over the previous approaches. Furthermore, earlier approaches used hand designed filter to upscale the LR image into HR image. The design architecture of such approaches is easy, but it introduces the extra unwanted pixels in the reconstructed image. To resolve these issues, we propose novel deep learning-based approach known as Lightweight deep CNN-based approach for Single Image Super-Resolution (LDCSIR). In this paper, we propose a new architecture which is inspired by ResNet with Inception blocks, which significantly drop the computational cost of the model and increase the processing time for reconstructing the HR image. Compared with the other state of the art methods, LDCSIR achieves better performance in terms of quantitively (PSNR/SSIM) and qualitatively.
