심포(心包), 삼조(三焦), 명문(命門)에 대한 연구 (Study On Shimpo, Samcho and Myoungmoon In Oriental Medicine)

  • Opinions about Simpo[心包:Xinbao], Samcho[三焦:Sanjiao] and Myoungmoon[命門:Mingmen] are controversial from begin of Oriental medicine [醫東學]. In this study I first will focus on each opinion about 3 things above that many doctors had mentioned before and find out the meanings that those doctors had tired to explain. Secondly I will try to consider the meanings of Shimpo Samcho and Myoungmoon themselves. Thirdly I will explain that the relations between Shimpo, Samcho and Myoungmoon by theories of Organs[臟腑]and Meridians[經絡] Korean Oriental Medicine and the substantial meanings through those works that I mentioned above. Finally I could have conclusions about Shimpo, Samcho and Myoungmoon. Shimpo is a intermediation between Shim[心:Xin] and Shin[腎:Shen] at the point of Shimshinsanggyo[心腎相交:Xinshenxiangjiao] and Myoungmoon is a intermediation also as same as Shimp although shimpo is based on Shim and Myoungmoon is based on Shin. sanghwa[相火:Xianghuo] is related to Shimpo and Myoungmoon at the view of the naming structure of Meridians. Each Shimpo and Myoungmoon has the meaning of Sanghwa. Samcho is suppose to be tube structure and have a pair with Sanghwa because of position in the naming structure of Meridians so it contains Sanghwa as a pathway of Sanghwa.

  • 퍼팅 그린의 한지형 잔디에 많은 문제가 되고 있는 동전마름병은 Sclerotinia homeocarpa에 의해 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 미생물 제제를 이용한 생물학적 방제법을 통하여 동전마름병을 방제하고자 전국의 골프장과 산, 밭 토양에서 길항 미생물을 분리하였다. 길항 미생물은 동전마름병의 병원균인 S. homeocarpa에 대한 항균활성 및 균사 생장 억제력, 배양성 등을 고려하여 선발하였고, 폿트와 퍼팅 그린의 예비 묘포지에서의 생물 검정 실험을 통하여 효력을 검정하였다. 선발된 미생물은 Bacillus subtilis EW42-1과 Trichoderma harzianum GBF-0208이었고, 생물 검정 실험 결과 화학 농약 대조구인 터부코나졸 유제와 대비하여 높은 방제 효과를 보였다.

Comparison of viral population of pathologically and geographically different areas of Southern provinces and Jeju, Korea

  • The objective of this work was to analyze the population of sequence variants of citrus tristeza virus (CTV) isolates in Korea and to make the phylogeny trees of CTV in Korea. We also tried to analyze and find the mild strain of CTV to apply for the cross protection. The CTV isolates from yuzu (C. Junos) collected from different geographic areas of Southern provinces such as Namhae-Do, Kerche-Do, Bosung, Wan-Do and Koheung and Jeju-Bo, Korea were used for SSCP analysis. The SSCP profiles of the cDNAS obtained by RT-PCR with primers specifically designed for the p20 of the CTV population. The SSCP profiles obtained from 150 PCR products in yuzu contained two or three DNA bands, whereas, in some case, others contained four or more bands of similar intensity. The pathologically mild isolates of CTV usually yielded two DNA bands by SSCP profiles, whereas the SSCP profiles of the most virulent isolates contained more than two DNA bands. Plants shown severe stem pitting were corresponded to those plants with typical SSCP profiles of severe strains, and vice versa. This results indicate that the primers designed for SSCP analysis can be used for distinguishing the mild strains from severe strains of CTV.

위계적 고착현상 치료 프로그램의 적용: 사례 연구 (Hierarchical Treatment of Aphasic Perserveration Program: A Case Study)

  • This study explored the effectiveness of a hierarchical treatment of aphasic perseveration (TAP) program in a Korean client with transcortical sensory aphasia. The subject with 52% perserveration score (Korean version of Boston Naming Test : K-BNT) was 44 year-old female with MCA (Middle cerebral artery) infarction. The experimental design used was an alternating treatment design with the hierarchical TAP and conventional audio-visual stimulation. The frequency of occurrence of perseverative behaviors and correct response in naming performance were analyzed and compared. It was claimed that the hierarchical TAP was more effective in naming performance than conventional audio-visual stimulation in terms of correct naming response. The frequency of occurrence of perseverative behaviors was lower in hierarchical TAP but the difference was relatively small. Unlike in English, sentence completion task was no longer stimulable while unison speech was very stimulable among the specific strategies of TAP program in Korean. Therefore, it could be said that TAP is language-dependent.

Critical Success Factors of the Web-based Tax Invoice System in Korea

  • Recently tax authorities in the world have been adopting advanced information technology over the Internet into their processes. Websites that enable filing tax returns and paying tax electronically have been implemented in many countries. However, the tax authorities have difficulties in forcing the mandatory system because taxpayers do not feel comfortable with readily capturing their incomes by the system. This study aims to provide a guideline for successful implementation of the mandatory e-tax invoice system. First, the study foucsed on investigating whether the Korean e-tax invoice system was implemented successfully. Secondly, the study assessed actions that might contribute to its successful implementation. The analyses identify that establishing a free website for small-sized taxpayers and providing various issuing systems for diverse taxpayers are critical for its success. The results also enable the tax administrations aspiring to introduce a mandatory system to emphasize some specific actions, which have significant effects on its desired purposes. Finally, this study presents the various policy implications that previous studies have not provided.

Femoral Metastasis in Bone Mineral Densitometry

  • A 50-year-old female patient referred by the department of breast and thyroid surgery was recommended for orthopedic surgery because lesion like herniation pit was found in the left proximal femur in bone mineral densitometry (BMD). She was later diagnosed with bone metastasis on biopsy in orthopedic surgery. Pelvic X-ray and Lt thigh MRI were performed . Intra-medually nail was operated later. The BMD is a diagnostic method that determines the results by numerical values, so it is inevitable to neglect to observe the bone shape, but as shown in the above case, the examiner's observation of changes in bone shape can return to beneficial treatment for patients.

  • Tordylium maximum L. (Apiaceae), native to south, south-central Europe and southwest Asia and a rare alien plant in northern Europe, was newly found in Jeollabuk-do in Korea. Tordylium is clearly distinguished from other genera by having radiating petals, filiform bracts, linear bractlets, stalked mericarps with minutely vesicular dorsal face or strigose hairs, and an annual habit. Tordylium maximum is different from other species of the genus by its mericarps with smooth margins and 10-16 rays not contracted in fruit. T. maximum grows on dry and sunny grasslands. Here, we report the first occurrence of the genus Tordylium represented by T. maximum in Korea and provide a precise description, illustration, photographs of the species, and a taxonomic key to allied taxa in Korea.

  • A 55-year-old female patient, referred by the endocrine metabolism department, was recommended for orthopedic surgery because a lesion was found in the proximal femur in the bone mineral densitometry (BMD). Pelvis AP and frog-leg images performed by the orthopedic department found an intraosseous mass (more likely a benign tumor) in the greater trochanter of the left femur. However, she did not need special treatment and decided to keep observing. The role of a radiologic technologist is important in BMD and it provides significant assistance in the treatment of patients.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEPENDENCE OF STAR FORMATION AND GALAXY TRANSFORMATION IN MERGING GALAXY CLUSTER ABELL 2255: AKARI'S POINT OF VIEW

  • We investigate the role of galaxy environment in the evolution of individual galaxies through the AKARI observations of the merging galaxy cluster A2255. MIR diagnostics using N3-S11 colors are adopted to select star-forming galaxies and galaxies in transition between star-forming galaxies and quiescent galaxies. We do not find particular enhancement of star formation rates as a function of galaxy environment, reflected in cluster-centric distance and local surface density of galaxies. Instead, the locations of intermediate MIR-excess galaxies (-1.2 < N3 - S11 < 0.2) show that star-forming galaxies are transformed into passive galaxies in the substructures of A2255, where the local surface density of galaxies is relatively high.
