Many of the bridge and building floor systems, including the girders and cross-beams, also behave a similar special orthotropic plates. Such plates are subject to the concentrate masses in the form of traffic loads, or the test equipments such as the accelerator in addition to their own masses. Analysis of such problems is usually very difficult. Most of the bridge slabs on girders have large aspect ratios. Finite difference method is used for this purpose, in this paper. The result is compared with that of the beam theory.

Movie has a light, colors, and texture in the space and a design. Movie is a ovation of the 3-dimensional reality with time and space. Just like a movie, a space can also express time, personality of characters and background stories. This paper considers the transient stability problem of power system. The power system model is given as interconnected system consisting of many machines which are described by swing equations. We design a transient stability controller using passivity and neural network. The structure of the neural network controller is derived using a filtered error/passivity approach. In general, a neural network cannot be guaranteed to be passive, but the weight tuning algorithm given here do guarantee desirable passivity properties of the neural network and hence of the closed-loop error system. Moreover proposed controller shows good robustness by simulation for uncertainties in parameters, which can not be shown in the speed gradient method proposed by Fradkov[3,7].

Fiber optic distributed temperature sensing and thermal line sensor are applied in an observation borehole and a loom deep borehole heat exchanger. For the case of permanently installed system fiber optic DTS is very useful. By comparing with TLS, fiber optic DTS shows good accuracy and reliability. Ground water flow can give influences at heat exchange rate of the heat pump system. According to the hydraulic characteristics and temperature-depth profile, we consider that temperature-depth profile do not seem to be dependent on ground water flow. A permanent installation of fiber optic cable is expected as a reliable temperature measurement technique in a borehole heat exchanger system.

Poly(2-cyano-5-methoxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene), PCMPV and a series of PPV copolymers containing 2-cyano-5-methoxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene (CMPV) units were prepared via the water-soluble precursor method. They were obtained in films form and were easily doped with $FeCl_3$. Doping of undrawn and drawn films of PCMPV homopolymer with $FeCl_3$ led to conductivity of $10^{-5}-10^{-4}\;Scm^{-1}$. Conductivity of $FeCl_3$-doped copolymer films ranged from $10^{-3}$ 4.0 Scm$^{-1}$ depending on composition. As the content of CMPV units in the copolymer increased further, the electrical conductivity steadly decreased. Electronic effect by the CN substituent and morphological changes brought by copolymerization appear to interplay intricately resulting in the observation of a maximum conducting composition.

Petrorhagia nanteuilii (Burnat) P. W. Ball & Heywood (Caryophyllaceae), native to western Europe and western North Africa and an introduced or alien plant in South America, Australia, and Japan, was newly found in Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. Petrorhagia is clearly distinguished from other genera by a bract at the base of calyx, which differs from Gypsophila L., and commissures at the sepals, which is different from Dianthus L. Petrorhagia nanteuilii grows on slopes and roadsides, suggesting that it is likely to have been introduced through the installation of green sites and road construction. A precise description, illustration, photographs, and a key to related genera and species is provided.

Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is a chronic idiopathic orofacial pain. BMS is currently classified as a neuropathic pain condition, but it is difficult to pinpoint the precise neuropathic mechanisms involved in each patient. It is challenging to complete the cure for BMS. Clinicians should treat BMS patients based on evidence. There is pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy in the treatment modalities of BMS. The provision of objective information and reassurance as part of cognitive behavioral therapy is critical in the treatment of BMS. This paper will review the evidence-based treatment of BMS and discuss what we need to do.

Eco-physiological research and the control of Cochlodinium polykrikoides was carried out to elucidate eco-physiological characteristics of red tide organism through culture experiment depending on the condition of photon irradiance. Oxygen consumption of C. polykrikoides was high with a value of 1.12 mg/L/hr in the dark compared with that of 0.13 mg/L/hr at $100{\mu}mEm^{-2}s^{-1}$. DO values in a circular chamber with the lapse of time in seawater containing C. polykrikoides were declined in the dark period. DO values of seawater containing C. polykrikoides in the dark were declined from 7.01 mg/L to 2.65 mg/L in 30 cm depth and from 7.01 mg/L to 6.63 mg/L in 5 cm depth depending on the depth of circular culture vessel. Olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus and file fish, Stephanolepis cirrhifer exposed to Cochlodinium showed the separation of the lamella epithelium from gill filament, which disrupted the respiratory process at the gill level.

In this paper, the result of application of vibration method to the orthotropic plates with free edges supported on elastic foundation and with a pair of opposite edges under axial forces is presented. Such plates represent the concrete highway slab and hybrid composite pavement of bridges. The reinforced concrete slab can be assumed as a special orthotropic plate, as a close approximation. The highway slab is supported on elastic foundation, with free boundaries. Sometimes, the pair of edges perpendicular to the traffic direction may be subject to the axial forces. The plate is subject to the concentrated load/loads, in the form of traffic loads, or the test equipments. Finite difference method is used to obtain the deflection influence surfaces needed for vibration analysis. The influence of the modulus of the foundation, the aspect ratio of the plate, and the magnitudes of the axial forces and the concentrated attached mass on the plate, under the natural frequency is thoroughly studied.
