전동차의 점착특성 향상에 관한 연구 (A study of adhesion characteristics progress for electric car)

  • It is one of the most effective methods for improving the performance of electric railway vehicles to make better the wheel-rail adhesion characteristics. To study adhesion characteristic is to develop the equivalent reduction machine to experiment on the adhesion system. The experiment system makes it possible to change the wheel-rail adhesion force with various adhesion parameters, and therewith to test the adhesion control system with the reduction machine in a laboratory. In this paper, for improving adhesion performance shows actually control methods.

초탄성 및 점탄성 물성을 고려한 자동차용 휠 베어링 실의 드래그 토크 예측 (Drag Torque Prediction for Automotive Wheel Bearing Seals Considering Viscoelastic as Well as Hyperelastic Material Properties)

  • Wheel bearings are important automotive parts that bear the vehicle weight and translate rotation motion; in addition, their seals are components that prevent grease leakage and foreign material from entering from the outside of the bearings. Recently, as the need for electric vehicles and eco-friendly vehicles has been emerging, the reduction in fuel consumption and $CO_2$ emissions are becoming the most important issues for automobile manufacturers. In the case of wheel bearings, seals are a key part of drag torque. In this study, we investigate the prediction of the drag torque taking into consideration the hyperelastic and viscoelastic material properties of automotive wheel bearing seals. Numerical analysis based on the finite element method is conducted for the deformation analyses of the seals. To improve the reliability of the rubber seal analysis, three types of rubber material properties are considered, and analysis is conducted using the hyperelastic material properties. Viscoelastic material property tests are also conducted. Deformation analysis considering the hyperelastic and viscoelastic material properties is performed, and the effects of the viscoelastic material properties are compared with the results obtained by the consideration of the hyperelastic material properties. As a result of these analyses, the drag torque is 0.29 Nm when the hyperelastic characteristics are taken into account, and the drag torque is 0.27 Nm when both the hyperelastic and viscoelastic characteristics are taken into account. Therefore, it is determined that the analysis considering both hyperelastic and viscoelastic characteristics must be performed because of its reliability in predicting the drag torque of the rubber seals.

회생제동 전자제어 유압모듈을 이용한 하이브리드 차량의 에너지 회수 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Energy Regeneration Algorithm using Electro-Hydraulic Braking Module for Hybrid Electric Vehicles)

  • In this paper, an energy regeneration algorithm is proposed to make the maximum use of the regenerative braking energy for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) equipped with a continuous variable transmission(CVT). The regenerative algorithm is developed by considering the battery state of charge(SOC), vehicle velocity and motor capacity. The hydraulic module consists of a reducing valve and a power unit to supply the front wheel brake pressure according to the control algorithm. In order to evaluate the performance of the regenerative braking algorithm and the hydraulic module, a hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) is performed. In the HILS system, the brake system consists of four wheel brakes and the hydraulic module. Dynamic characteristics of the HEV are simulated using an HEV simulator. In the HEV simulator, each element of the HEV powertrain such as internal combustion engine, motor, battery and CVT is modelled using MATLAB/$Simulink^{(R)}$. In the HILS, a driver operates the brake pedal with his or her foot while the vehicle speed is displayed on the monitor in real time. It is found from the HILS that the regenerative braking algorithm and the hydraulic module suggested in this paper provide a satisfactory braking performance in tracking the driving schedule and maintaining the battery state of charge.

  • Wheel impact due to the joint discontinuity is a major source of uncomfortable vibration in the railway vehicles. Since the impact signal is measured using sensors attached to the bogie and its energy content is small compared to the other vibrations from the machineries such as motors and gear systems, the seperation of the impact signal is generally difficult. In this study a technique using an evolutionary spectrum is proposed in order to estimate the impact signal due to the rail joint discontinuity.

  • Most power steering systems obtain the power by a hydraulic mechanism. Therefore, it consumes more energy because the oil power should be sustained all the times. Recently, to solve this problem the electric power system has been developed and become widely equipped in passenger vehicles. In this research the simulation integration technique for an electric power steering system with MATLAB/SIMULINK and a full vehicle model with ADAMS has been developed. A full vehicle model interacted with electronic control unit algorithm is concurrently simulated with an impulsive steering wheel torque input. The dynamic responses of vehicle chassis and steering system are evaluated. This integrated method allows engineers to reduce the prototype testing cost and to shorten the developing period.

  • 본 연구에서는 인휠 전기구동 시스템의 장점을 바탕으로 첨단능동안전지원 기술의 일종인 적응순항제어(Adaptive Cruise Control, ACC) 알고리즘의 고도화 방안을 제시한다. 본 연구에서 대상 차량은 전륜은 엔진에 의해, 후륜은 인휠모터에 의해 구동되는 4륜 하이브리드 구동계를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는데, 이러한 구성은 기존 내연기관 차량을 개선하여 차량의 출력을 증가시키거나 4륜 하이브리드 형태로의 변화를 용이하게 하는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 차량의 구성을 바탕으로 기본 상태에서는 엔진만을 이용하여 차간거리 제어를 수행하되, 젖은 노면 등 주행 환경에서 제어오차가 커지게 되면 후륜의 인휠모터를 구동하여 제어성능을 확보할 수 있는 ACC 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 ACC 알고리즘은 상기와 같은 방법으로 ACC 제어성능을 최적화함과 동시에 기존 4륜 자동차가 갖는 장점을 그대로 유지하도록 한다. 또한 본 연구에서는 고정밀 동역학 SW를 기반으로 대상 인휠모터 및 인휠 하이브리드 구동계, 해당 구동계 기반의 ACC 제어시스템을 모델링하였으며, 이를 통해 시뮬레이션 환경을 기반으로 제안된 알고리즘의 검증 결과를 제시한다.

  • In recent times, fuel economy enhancement and environmental regulation compliance have become the main topics of interest in the automobile industry. Electric vehicles are desirable alternatives to the existing cars that employ internal combustion engines. Specifically, electric vehicles are equipped with inverters, motors, and a gearbox instead of engines and transmission mechanisms. The gearbox is a key component, used to transmit power from the electric motor to the wheel. Therefore, the design of the gearbox is critical. However, most engineers design gears based only on their experience because no standards pertaining to the design factor exist, other than those for the gear ratios. To overcome this problem, the structural stabilities must be examined considering the design factors of the gears. In this study, we considered the module and number of teeth as the main factors. The constraints corresponded to the final gear ratio and fixed distance between each axle of the shafts. Moreover, a structural analysis was conducted, and the variation trend of the maximum equivalent stress against changes in the gear module and number of teeth was examined. By performing such an analysis, the structural stability in the design of a gear system could be effectively investigated.

전기자동차용 기계적 에너지 회생장치 (Kinetic Energy Recovery System for Electric Vehicles)

  • This paper presents a new regenerative brake system of electric vehicles that employs a continuous variable transmission(CVT) and a flywheel. The developed device has advantages over existing regenerative brakes from a standpoint of reliability and versatility in actual driving conditions. The system consists of a CVT, two wheels, a flywheel, a coupling and auxiliary powertrain components. The CVT is designed as a combination of two cones and a roller, which causes the velocity difference between the wheel and the flywheel. The power flow of the flywheel system is controlled by the CVT roller and the coupling through step motors. A prototype has been developed and then its performance has been investigated for various operating conditions. Results show that the storage efficiency of the flywheel is much affected by the vehicle's velocity and it is reduced below 20% for high speed, as compared to the 25% efficiency for an ideal condition. The CVT is a primary factor for lowering the flywheel efficiencies due to large friction and slipping between the cone and the roller.

  • 전기철도차량의 성능특성을 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 방법중의 하나는 바퀴와 레일사이의 점착성능을 향상시키는 것이다. 점착특성을 연구하기 위해서 실제 차량을 등가 모델링한 점착시스템을 제작하였다. 이 시스템은 다양한 점착 파라미터를 변화시켜 바퀴와 레일사이의 점착력을 바꿀 수 있도록 제작되었다. 이 논문은 공전속도를 제어하는 기능을 추가하여 점착성능을 향상시키는 연구이다.
