4륜 조향시스템이 차량의 주행역학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of four-wheel steering system on vehicle handling characterisitcs)

  • Equipments of passenger cars with modern technologies are gaining their importance. Related with such developments, the four-wheel steering system (4WS) was introduced recently to a few passenger cars in the market. The most important research goal on this new steering system is improvement of active safety, in other words, improvement of handling characteristics of vehicle stability and maneuverability. This paper presents a computer-based study about the effects of 4WS system on the vehicle handling characteristics. A simple bicycle model of 2 d.o.f. is used for the development of four wheel control algorithms of 4WS system, and the rear wheel control strategies are applied to a complex vehicle model of 16 d.o.f. for simulation of selected ISO-driving tests. The 4WS systems, which reduce the sideslip angle at the mass center of vehicle to almost zero, show much improved handling characteristics compared to that of the conventional 2WS system. These 4WS systems, however, result in vehicles with eigen-steer characteristics of extreme understeer behaviour.

  • The problem related to the rotational vibration at steering wheel end of passenger cars during high speed driving is investigated. to analyze vibration of steering wheel, a steering system of passenger car is modelled in twelve degrees of freedom including backlash effect of rack and pinion gear system. The one degree of freedom system with backlash in investigated by the analytical method. Consequently the skeleton curve and the frequency response curves are computed. The steering system is analyzed by the numerical simulation using the 4th order Runge-Kutta method, the obtained results are compared with the experimental data. Also the effects of the change of rack gear tooth stiffness and backlash on the acceleration level of steering wheel are investigated. As a result, it can be found that the acceleration level of steering wheel becames lower as the rack gear tooth stiffness becames higher, and that acceleration level becames high as the magnitude of backlash between rack and pinion gear increase.

  • A driver-vehicle model means the integrated dynamic model that is able to estimate the steering wheel angle from the driver's desired path based on the dynamic characteristics of the driver and vehicle. Autonomous driving robot for factory automation has individual four-wheels which are driven by electronic motors. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of several four-wheel steering systems with the simultaneously steerable front and rear wheels are investigated and compared by means of the driver-vehicle model. A diver-vehicle model is proposed by using the PID control to velocity and trajectory of control autonomous driving robot. To determine the optimum speed of a autonomous driving robot, steady-state circle simulation is carried out with the ADAMS program and MATLAB control model.

  • In this paper, we propose effective diagnosis algorithm for hub bearing fault in driving vehicle using acceleration signal and wheel speed signal measured in hub bearing unit or knuckle. This algorithm consists of differential, envelope and power spectrum method. We developed diagnosis system for realizing proposed algorithm. This system consists of input device including acceleration sensor and wheel speed sensor, calculation device using Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and display device using Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). Using this diagnosis system, a driver can see hub bearing fault(flaking) from the vibration in driving vehicle. With early repairing, he can keep good ride feeling and prevent accident of vehicle resulting from hub bearing fault.

  • This paper presents simulation-based analysis of energy flow of a wheel loader. The objective of this study is to analyze the energy flow of a wheel loader during driving and working. Because the wheel loader powertrain consists of a mechanical and hydraulic powertrain, the generated power from the engine is divided into 2 powertrains. Further, a virtual prediction of energy flow in the powertrains is a key factor in terms of optimal design. Accordingly, the simulation model that is able to predict the virtual energy flow is developed and analyzed in this study. The proposed wheel loader simulation model has been constructed in the Matlab/Simulink environment. It is expected that the developed simulation model will analyze the energy flow and efficiency in the design stage.

  • Outer rotor type in-wheel switched reluctance motor for Welfare neighborhood electric vehicle is researched. In-wheel system is to drive the electric vehicle without mechanical transmission, shaft, differential gears or other mechanical system. To calculate drive power for each wheels, the elder's and disable's safety driving conditions are considered. The designed outer rotor SRM has a 6-stator and 8-rotor pole. The determined dimensions as well as the stator and rotor pole arc are simulated and tested with CAD and finite element analysis to verify the performance of the proposed motor.

  • In this paper Vehicle driving simulator have been used in the development and modification of models. A real-time simulation system and washout algorithm for an excavator have been developed for a driving simulator with six degrees of freedom. An interesting question, "how the 6 DOF Driving Simulator can be controlled optimally for the various tasks?" is not easy to be answered. This paper presents the hardware and software developed for a driving simulator of construction vehicle. A simulator can reduce cost and time a variety of driving simulations in the laboratory. Using its 6 DOF Simulator can move in various modes, and perform dexterous tasks. Driving simulators have begun to proliferate in the automotive industry and the associated research community. This effort involves the real-time dynamic of wheel-type excavator the design and manufacturing of the Stewart platform an integrated control system of the platform and three-dimensional graphic modeling of the driving environments.

  • This paper proposes the algorithm of torque distribution in the electric wheel-chair using 2D joystick for drive safety. For the accurate driving performance, the specific and precise torque distribution is required in both wheels depending on signals of X-Y axis that is generated from 2D joystick. The signals of X-Y axis from joystick are transformed into the propulsion force and the torque reference. And the torque reference can be generated through the dynamic model of wheel-chair. The optimal dynamic characteristics of the electric powered wheelchair can be obtained, by adjusting the sensitivity coefficients of propulsion force and torque reference, In addition, the system takes smooth and stable control characteristics due to continuous torque output at all directions of joystick. The several simulations verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm about torque distribution.

  • 본 논문에서는 최대 견인력 제어를 위해서 부하토크외란관측기와 속도센서리스 백터제어를 이용하여 점착력 계수를 추정하고 추정한 점착력 계수의 미분치를 PI 토크 제어하는 Anti-slip제어를 제안한다. 점착력 계수를 추정하기 위해서는 전압, 전류값 뿐만 아니라 자속이나 속도정보가 필요하다. 따라서 전동기의 회전속도를 정확하게 검출 할 수 있는 속도센서가 필요하게 된다. 그러나 속도검출을 위해 속도센서를 부착하는 것은 여러 가지 면에서 단점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 속도센서 없는 센서리스 구동방식에 의한 부하토크외란관측기를 설계하여, 점착력 계수를 추정한다. 이와같은 제어 알고리즘을 구현하기 위하여 1C1M 철도모의장치를 이용하여 제안된 알고리즘을 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.
