Demand for the fabric wipes is growing continuously. Wipes in industry are used for cleaning purpose. Cleaning involves rubbing action, so it is very important to know how much frictional force is encountered during the cleaning action. In this study the effects of normal load, sliding speed on frictional characteristics of nonwoven and woven wipes, both dry and wetted with different liquids, against glass and floor tile surfaces have been reported. With the increase in the normal load the coefficient of friction goes on decreasing for both nonwoven and woven wipes and this trend is observed in both dry and wet wipes. The coefficient of friction of both nonwoven and woven wipes against glass surface is in general higher than the floor tile surface. The wipes wetted with water shows an increase in coefficient of friction as compared to dry sample, but there is reduction in the coefficient of friction when the wipe samples are wetted with vegetable oil. In case of dry wipes, the coefficient of friction in case of nonwoven wipe is higher than the woven wipe. In case of woven wipes, the ranges of coefficient of friction either due to change in liquid type, normal load or sliding speed are in general smaller than that in case of nonwoven fabrics.
This study was carried out to find the optimum chemical cleaning (CIP) conditions for ceramic microfiltration membrane process of Y drinking water treatment plant. B train consists of coagulation as pretreatment process with membrane was chemically cleaned 9 times more than that of A train with ozonation and coagulation. The frequent CIP of B train was due to improper CIP method suggested by membrane manufacture as well as different membrane fouling between A and B train resulting from the different pretreatment processes. That is, recovery rate of CIP was overestimated because the rate was calculated based on normalized trans membrane pressure (TMP) rather than normalized permeability. And also, iron oxide fouling was ineffectively removed by citric acid. By using a mixture of 1% citric acid and 0.1 N sulfuric acid as reagent for acid CIP step, the recovery rate of CIP was the highest while CIP efficiency by 0.1 N sulfuric acid was the lowest. When sulfuric acid concentration increased from 0.1 N to 0.3 N in mixture, total recovery rate of CIP was not increased due to the decreased CIP efficiency in alkali CIP step by 0.3% NaOCl although its rate in acid CIP step was increased. It was proved through the experiment result of CIP sequence changes that an acid followed by alkali CIP was more effective than that of the reverse method.
To enhance the cleaning and sterilization effect of cooled electrolyzed acid water on lettuce, several kinds of polysorbates were used at various concentrations in immersion washing process. In case of the treatment containing polysorbate 20, coliform count of lettuce was reduced to about 1/40 level of that in non-treated lettuce. The treatment containing polysorbate 60 did not show a significant sterilization effect. Otherwise, the total and coliform counts of lettuce during immersion in electrolyzed acid water containing 1 ppm of polysorbate 80 was reduced to about 1/300 and 1/1,700 level of those in non-treated one. And, the changes of ORP(oxidation-reduction potential), pH and color value of lettuce in electrolyzed acid water containing 1 ppm of polysorbate 80 were not quite different during 60 min. immersion, but HCIO content decreased from 10.28 ppm to 8.51 ppm after 20 min. immersion. Also, total and coliform count of lettuce immersed in electrolyzed acid water containing 1 ppm of polysorbate 80 was lower to about 1/1,800 after 20 min. and 1/5,550 after 30 min, compared with non-treated lettuce.

A traditional propeller can easily become entangled with floating objects while operating. In this paper, we present a newly developed Electromagnetic-valve-control-based Water-jet Propulsion System (ECWPS) for an unmanned surface cleaning vessel that can be flexibly controlled via a Micro Control Unit (MCU). The double-structure was adapted to the unmanned surface cleaning vessel for floating-collection missions. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for operating effect simulation was also used to reveal the working principle of the ECWPS under different conditions. Neglecting the assembly technique, the design level, controlling strategy, and maneuvering performance of the ECWPS reached unprecedented levels. The ECWPS mainly consists of an Electromagnetic-valve Array (EA), pipeline network, control system, and water-jet source. Both CFD analyses and experimental results show that the hydraulic characteristic of the ECWPS was predicted reasonably, which has enormous practical value and development prospects.

We have been studied on the high concentration ozonized water production technology which substitute for the SPM wet cleaning solution process as the PR strip process after the photolithography process in the semiconductor and flat panel display manufacturing. In this work, we have developed the surface discharge type ozone generator which has the characteristics of the 12 [wt%] ozone concentration at the oxygen gas flow of 0.5[ℓ/min] oxygen per cell and also developed the high efficiency ozone contactor for the mixing ozone gas with deionized water. As the production test results of the ozonized water, we obtained the ozonized water concentration above 80[ppm] at the 10[wt%] ozone gas concentration, and also had a good result of the PR strip rate of 147[nm/min]. at the 70[ppm] ozonized water.
$TiO_2-SiO_2-In_2O_3$ nanocomposite thin film was deposited on the glass substrates using a dip coating technique. The morphology, surface composition, surface hydroxyl groups, photocatalytic activity and hydrophilic properties of the thin film were investigated by AFM, XPS, methyl orange decoloring rate and water contact angle measurements. The hydroxyl content for $TiO_2$, $TiO_2-SiO_2$ and $TiO_2-SiO_2-In_2O_3$ nanocomposite films was calculated to be 11.6, 17.1 and 20.7%, respectively. $TiO_2-SiO_2-In_2O_3$ film turned superhydrophilic after 180-min irradiation with respect to pure $TiO_2$ and $TiO_2-SiO_2$ thin films. The photocatalytic decomposition of methyl orange for $TiO_2$, $TiO_2-SiO_2$ and $TiO_2-SiO_2-In_2O_3$ thin films was measured as 38.19, 58.71 and 68.02%, respectively. The results indicated that $SiO_2$ and $In_2O_3$ had a significant effect on the hydrophilic, photocatalytic and self-cleaning properties of $TiO_2$ thin film.
Purpose: In the present study, the actual management state of trial contact lenses and lens care products in local optical shops was surveyed and analyzed to reduce the risk of lens complication possibly induced by neglecting lens care. Methods: The feeling of contact lens wearers during the wear of trial contact lenses was surveyed. Futhermore, the actual management state of trial contact lenses such as cosmetic lens and RGP lens and lens care products was also investigated by surveying opticians who trade contact lenses in local optical shops. Results: It was found that consumers trusted the sanitary conditions of the lens since trial cosmetic contact lens and RGP lens were cleaned before and after trails by over 98% of opticians in local optical shops. For trial cosmetic lens, cleaning with normal saline, multipurpose solution for soft lens and combination of saline and multipurpose solution were 38.5%, 40.5% and 21%, respectively, before trials. After trials, cosmetic lenses were cleaned with normal saline, multipurpose solution for soft lens and a combination of saline and multipurpose solution were 13%, 75%, and 12%, respectively. On the other hand, cleaning with normal saline, multipurpose solution for RGP lens and combination of saline and multipurpose solution were 28.5%, 38.5% and 33%, respectively, before trying trial RGP lens. After trials, RGP lenses were cleaned with normal saline, multipurpose solution for RGP lens and a combination of saline and multipurpose solution were 2.5%, 70%, and 27.5%, respectively, indicating that relatively many opticians followed the lens cleaning regimen. In local optical shops, the cleaning trial cosmetic lens was mainly conducted at every 10 days or a month and the washing cycle of cosmetic lens case was in a month or 2~3 months. The cleaning interval of trial RGP lens was primarily in a month or 2~3 months. For those lens cases, more than 75% of opticians washed them with a surfactant and then rinsed with cold water. The storing periods of lens care products were primarily in a week for saline and in a month and 2~3 months indicating that storing period of lens care products was relatively well-kept in local optical shops. Conclusions: It is thought that the concern about any microbial infection is not that high since trial contact lenses and lens care products were generally well-managed by opticians in local optical shops from the results above. However, better public eye health and better public confidence in opticians may be possible if further strengthen in avoidance of lens cleaning with saline, keep of cleaning cycles within 2 weeks and rinsing of lens cases with hot water happens.

Coastal and fishing facilities are gradually deteriorating in function due to the continual accumulation of soil sediments, which has affected local economic activities. Currently, there are many methods to remove soil sediments, but these methods are either a temporary solution or require a repetitive removal of the soil sediments, which is a huge financial burden for the maintenance of the facilities. To solve these problems, this study proposed a non-power soil cleaning system and evaluated field applicability by carrying out field model tests. The conditions for the evaluation focused on the drainage-elapsed time and drainage-outflow velocity according to the water level change in the water tank. In the field test, silty clay and sand were separately installed, and sedimentation soil removal test was practiced. As a result, the system was verified to have a sufficient outflow velocity for the removal of soil sediments. In addition, a generalization equation that can be used in different regions of the tide was suggested in this study. These results will greatly contribute to removing soil sediments in ports and dike gate facilities on the southwest coast. Since the system is an eco-friendly technology that does not require additional energy, thus it is expected to contribute to maintenance of sustainable facility performance as well as economic effect in the future.

As the integrated devices become more and more sophistcated, the diameter of wafers increased up to 300 mm and strict level of cleaning is necessary to remove the particulates on the surface of wafer. Therefore we need a new type of wet-station which can reduce DI water and chemical in the cleaning process. Moreover, it is important to control the temperature and the concentration of chemical in the wet-station. In the conventional chemical supply system, it is difficult not only to fit the mixing rate of chemicals in cleaning process, but also to fit the quantity and temperature. Thus, we propose a new chemicals supply system, which overcomes above problems by the analysis of fluid and thermal transfer on chemical supply system.
