  • This module to input Korean Level Data has 4 capacities of inputing, deleting, referencing and saving. Data file of level line consists of sorted list of node on the basis of “ABSTRACT”. For easy work, interactive method was employed. As the result of removing the boring routine by applying the characteristics of level data, working efficiency was increased. This program was written in C-language and runs on a minimum hardware configuration of IBM PC/XT with 640KB memory, In the future, these unit modules combine to form Generalized Level Information System.

File-System-Level SSD Caching for Improving Application Launch Time (응용프로그램의 기동시간 단축을 위한 파일 시스템 수준의 SSD 캐싱 기법)

  • Application launch time is an important performance metric to user experience in desktop and laptop environment, which mostly depends on the performance of secondary storage. Application launch times can be reduced by utilizing solid-state drive (SSD) instead of hard disk drive (HDD). However, considering a cost-performance trade-off, utilizing SSDs as caches for slow HDDs is a practicable alternative in reducing the application launch times. We propose a new SSD caching scheme which migrates data blocks from HDDs to SSDs. Our scheme operates entirely in the file system level and does not require an extra layer for mapping SSD-cached data that is essential in most other schemes. In particular, our scheme does not incur mapping overheads that cause significant burdens on the main memory, CPU, and SSD space for mapping table. Experimental results conducted with 8 popular applications demonstrate our scheme yields 56% of performance gain in application launch, when data blocks along with metadata are migrated.

Storage I/O Subsystem for Guaranteeing Atomic Write in Database Systems (데이터베이스 시스템의 원자성 쓰기 보장을 위한 스토리지 I/O 서브시스템)

  • The atomic write technique is a good solution to solve the problem of the double write buffer. The atomic write technique needs modified I/O subsystems (i.e., file system and I/O schedulers) and a special SSD that guarantees the atomicity of the write request. In this paper, we propose the writing unit aligned block allocation technique (for EXT4 file system) and the merge prevention of requests technique for the CFQ scheduler. We also propose an atomic write-supporting SSD which stores the atomicity information in the spare area of the flash memory page. We evaluate the performance of the proposed atomic write scheme in MariaDB using the tpcc-mysql and SysBench benchmarks. The experimental results show that the proposed atomic write technique shows a performance improvement of 1.4~1.5 times compared to the double write buffer technique.

Also, extension of correct memory or hard drive etc. causes a lot of expenses to server. While, may minimise human who happen by buying high-capacity server by dispersing file public ownership way unuse expensive server in client/serve. way who put up files in PC(client) to a sewer and manage files and make use of only client computers because public ownership of data and government official in P2P(peer to peer) environment, waste of material resources. Many people are interested to P2P by such reason, researches that use P2P to connection field to be Moba that have Gakgwangbatgo current are gone vigorously.

  • Recently, the operator modules to control external devices are concerned about automatic management system to process continuously changed signals. These signals are the stream data of which characteristics are several numbers. a short report interval and asynchronous report time. It is necessary that the system brings about high accuracy and real time process for stream data. The typical queries of these systems consist of the current query to search the latest signal value, the snapshot query at a past time, the sliding window query from a past time to current. In this paper, we propose the efficient method to manage the above signals by using a file structured database in small-size operating systems. We also propose a query model to accommodate various queries including the sliding window query. The file database in the QNX adopts a delta version and a shared memory buffering method for the resource limit of a small storage and a low computing power.

  • This paper describes the development of robust contingency analysis program for Korean Energy Management System. The important function of contingency analysis is to determine the bus/branch model for contingency, and to calculate the state of the power network based on the network model and topology output. In the proposed method, the bus/branch models for contingencies are determined exactly using a fast linked-list method based on the application common model database. To calculate the state of the power system included contingency, the full-decoupled powerflow approach, the partial powerflow method for contingencies and the proposed contingency screening algorithm are also used to contingency analysis. To verify the performance of the developed processor, we performed a file-based test using several structured input data and online test using the database which resides on memory. The results of these comprehensive tests showed that the developed processors can accurately calculate the power system contingency state from online data and can be applied to Korea Power Exchange system.

  • 본 논문은 임베디드 시스템에서 대용량 저장시스템에 적합한 NAND 플래시 메모리 기반의 파일 시스템을 제안한다. 플래시 메모리는 비휘발성이며 기존의 하드디스크와 같은 자기 매체에 비해서 크기가 작고 전력소모도 적으며 내구성이 높은 장점을 지니고 있다. 그러나 제자리 덮어쓰기 (update-in-place)가 불가능하고 메모리 셀에 대한 초기화 횟수가 제한되는 단점이 있다. 또한 NAND 플래시 메모리는 바이트 단위의 입출력이 불가능하다. 이러한 특성 때문에 NAND 플래시 메모리를 저장장치로 사용할 경우 기존의 저장 장치 관리 방법과는 다른 방법을 요구한다. 본 논문은 임베디드 시스템에서 대용량 저장장치를 위한 NAND 플래시 메모리 기반의 파일 시스템의 구조를 제시하고, 대용량 파일 지원을 위한 메타 데이터 구조와 데이터 수정 기법을 제안한다.

  • IPTV(Internet Protocol Television)는 차별화된 초고속 광대역 네트워크를 기반으로 기존 TV의 단점을 보완하여 차세대 DTV 시장을 주도할 것으로 예상된다. IPTV의 저장용량이 증가하는 추세에 따라 SSD(Solid State Disk)가 NAND 플래시 메모리를 대체 할 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문에서는 IPTV의 저장장치인 SSD의 수명을 증가시키고 플래시메모리의 특성인 마모도 제한을 고려하지 않은 지움 정책(Garbage-Collection)을 사용하는 YAFFS(Yet Another Flash FileSystem)의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 블록을 내용기반 리스트로 관리하고 블록스왑을 사용하는 내용기반 지움 정책을 제안한다. 기존 파일시스템 보다 수명을 향상 시키는 내용기반 파일시스템을 설계 및 구현하여 성능을 분석하였다.

  • Module is an object file that can be loaded into operating system dynamically and has complete privileged access to all resources in kernel. Therefore trivial misuses in a module may cause critical system halts or deadlock situations. In this paper, we propose Kernel Resource Protector(KRP) scheme to reduce the various problems caused by module. KRP provides protections of a variety of kernel resources such as memory, major number and work queue resource. We implement the scheme onto linux kernel 2.6.18, and experimental results show that our scheme can protect kernel resources effectively.

  • Since web applications are accessed by anonymous users via web, more security risks are imposed on those applications. In particular, because security vulnerabilities caused by insecure source codes cannot be properly handled by the system-level security system such as the intrusion detection system, it is necessary to eliminate such problems in advance. In this paper, to enhance the security of web applications, we develop a static analyzer for detecting the well-known security vulnerability of PHP file inclusion vulnerability. Using a semantic based static analysis, our vulnerability analyzer guarantees the soundness of the vulnerability detection and imposes no runtime overhead, differently from the other approaches such as the penetration test method and the application firewall method. For this end, our analyzer adopts abstract interpretation framework and uses an abstract analysis domain designed for the detection of the target vulnerability in PHP programs. Thus, our analyzer can efficiently analyze complicated data-flow relations in PHP programs caused by extensive usage of string data. The analysis results can be browsed using a JAVA GUI tool and the memory states and variable values at vulnerable program points can also be checked. To show the correctness and practicability of our analyzer, we analyzed the source codes of open PHP applications using the analyzer. Our experimental results show that our analyzer has practical performance in analysis capability and execution time.
