Changes are expected in the future, and the future society will expect changes in education. Science curriculum needs to reflect such demands for changes in the future of education. Hence, this study explored ways to reflect the changes demanded by the future society in science education. In this study, we investigated the major issues and directions for improvements based on the findings from questionnaires given to 447 primary and secondary school science teachers as well as in-depth interviews with 12 experts. We explored the problems of the 2009 revised national science curriculum including organization of science elective courses, fusion 'science' as an elective course, intensive course-taking of science, career-focused science curriculum, variation of completion units in science elective courses, and fairness of science elective course selection in college entrance. In addition, we proposed ways to organize science curriculum around core competencies and STEAM education suggested by science teachers. According to the results, we need to add such key competencies as basic learning abilities, self-identity, and moral competencies to science curriculum in addition to existing key competencies including problem solving and communication. Regarding the fusion science, experts contended that convergence of science courses should come before that of science and other subjects, and that STEAM with science as the axis was the desired form of convergence. We also need to establish a curriculum development center that exclusively focuses on science curriculum research and development.
The term rules of origin(RoO) actually speaks for itself, referring to the rules which determine the origin of goods in international trade. The importance of RoO has grown significantly as preferential agreements expand and countries have treated similar imported goods differently according to where the product was made. The purpose of this paper is to study the main case study and its implication of RoO in FTAs. According to survey, the degree of using FTAs in Korea export firms is sharply low. Major reasons are that rules of origin differ from country to country in the FTAs, and that Korean firms have yet to work out what the RoO are. Chapter II of this paper views criteria of the determination country of origin of goods. Chapter III introduces the main case study of FTA rules of origin. Chapter VI presents implication through the case studies and finally concluded this study. In conclusion, Korea needs to build up its own position for rules of origin and provides rules of origin experts into the market. In-depth study and evaluation about Korea's existing FTAs RoO should be carried out to prepare for future FTAs.

The post-evaluation system after construction projects can evaluate estimates of use demand, project cost, and project schedule estimated in the planning phase of construction projects in public sector. Thus, it was introduced in 2000 for the purpose of reduction in future errors during similar constructions by project orderer by referring the post-evaluation results. However, many barriers to the post-evaluation system after construction projects have been reported due to evaluation systems that lack objectivity and reliability and lack of main bodies that utilize the system. Thus, this study derived implications for improvements of the post-evaluation system in Korea by benchmarking building project evaluation system and management as well as utilization systems of developed nations. Then this study conducted a survey with experts who have experienced activities in the post-evaluation committee and members of post-evaluation for public project owners. Therefore it identified the need of installation of specialized post-evaluation institutions as well as functions and work tasks to be taken by specialized institutions. Based on the analysis results, this paper provided revision drafts of related legislations and guidelines to be effective in post-evaluation. Through the study results, many trial and errors can be reduced in similar projects in the future by performing in-depth analysis on large-scale construction projects and repeatedly applied building project practices can be improved to raise technical competitiveness if the specialized institution is installed.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a Nurse's Character Scale for Care in Clinical settings (NCS_C). Methods: The NCS_C was developed and validated as follows: Item generation, preliminary test of questionnaire, and tests of validity and reliability. One hundred and thirty six preliminary items were developed through a literature review and in-depth interviews by 10 nurse-experts and five patients. The content validity of the items was verified through an evaluation by five nurses and seven professors in the fields of Korean literature, pedagogy and nursing. Finally, 53 items were confirmed through item analysis, factor analysis and validity tests including convergent, discriminant and concurrent validities. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Cronbach's alpha. Results: Thirteen factors evolved from the factor analysis, which explained 63.1% of the total variance. The factors referred to the union of two dimensions: the professional dimension and the interpersonal dimension. The internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha, was .95, and reliability of the subscales ranged from .58 to .87. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the NCS_C is a reliable and valid primary scale to measure nurses' or students' character level for better care in clinical settings.
Many schools of the secondary level have been recently carrying out 'differentiated class'based on ability grouping between classed(DC). They are usually consisted of three levels; high level available to enriched course, middle level, and low level available to supplemental course. Phrhaps, almost all of the schools might nave executed DC before 2000 year. To do this, a lots of teachers have to develop differentiated teaching and learning materials for themselves. But, these mateirals are usually consisted of differentiated mathematics not on 'content'but on 'items'. So, for the successful 7th differentiated curriculum, the issues such as teaching and learning methods, materials, and evaluation system should be considered in depth focused on DC. .Decide issues related to DC(for example, mathematical contents, methods, activities, class speed,extra)based not on teachers or experts but on students. .Differentiate teaching and learning mateirals according to DC and develop the materials(including guidelines, supplementary books, multimedia, extra) based not on mathematical items but on mathematical contents. .Introduce new mathematical concepts or laws using not only not only definition and explanation but also concrete examples or problems. .Suggest differentiated diverse projects related to mathematical subjects suitable to enhance students` thinking ability to each class. .Have students to develop projects successfully by collecting, representing, analyzing, and interpreting data through communications in a cooperative learning environment.
The purpose of this study is to diagnose the problems of mathematics education in Korea by conducting an in-depth analysis of international comparative studies, a Delphi method, and a survey. Further analysis of TIMSS and PISA results also reveals several negative aspects of mathematics education practice in Korea. The mathematics education experts' opinions collected by Delphi method were classified into 12 categories: private education and test-driven education, curriculum and textbooks, lessons, evaluation, teacher, learner, teaching aid and facilities. affective aspects of mathematics, discrepancy between a theory and a practice, preservice/inservice teacher education and teacher employment test, education policy, and overall. Another survey was conducted to focus more on the development of curriculum which is a pending issue. Considering the fact that mathematics education should contribute to improve practical aspect as well as elaborate theoretical aspect, this study lays a foundation of improvement of mathematics education in Korea.
The purpose of this study was to develop the evaluation scales that can access hierarchically the lifelong education field training program based on relevant stakeholders. To fulfill this purpose, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were applied. First of all, four groups of stakeholders were selected such as trainees, professors, field instructors, and program inspectors. The in-depth interviews with 13 experts in the field were conducted, and as a result, the scale with hierarchy of evaluation area, evaluation section, and evaluation item for each stakeholder was developed. In order to verify the content validity of the evaluation scales, delphi surveys for each stakeholder were conducted, using 35 expert panels. After delphi survey, the scale was applied to 90 trainees, 22 professors, and 31 field instructors. SPSS program was used to analyze the descriptive statistics, validity, and reliability. Finally, the evaluation scale of the trainer was identified as 8 evaluation areas, 14 evaluation sections and 51 evaluation items. And the professor's scale consisted of 6 areas, 10 sections and 40 items. The field instructor's scale was determined as 3 areas, 7 sections and 31 items, and the program inspector's evaluation scale was confirmed as 7 areas, 15 sections, and 32 items.
Aviation industry is known as the knowledge-based one and as an advanced nations' exclusive property having a large capacity for creating job and added value. Considering the current status of the aviation industry as aforesaid, it is natural for all countries to turn their attention to such promising aviation industry. At the time of rapid growth in aviation market, the importance of securing managerial experts and technicians is being under the spotlight as the aviation profession is increasingly in demand. To meet such dire needs that have already become an ever-greater part of the industry, collaboration among governmental, educational and industrial parties has formed in preparation for putting us into so-called an era of globalization. Having recognized the significance of the program, carried forward by The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, fostering human resources in civil aviation, the objective of this study lies on deloping indicators for the programofficially designed to produce men of expertise in international air transport, the market of which forms nowadays a large part of national economy, and the technology of which develops so quickly. In this paper, an effort is made to develop the appraisal indicators and to set up standards thereof in order for the program to be systematically and expertly assessed on the basis of Quinn and Rohrbaugh's the competing values model. Firstly, this paper designs appraisal indicators, taking into account the peculiarity and environment of air transport industry, for developing human resources in civil aviation by utilizing advanced research on educational assessment in general due to the absence of applicable preceding studies regarding the development of human resources in civil aviation. Secondly, investigations into the necessity and validity of the appraisal are committed by analyzing answers from 100 respondents to questionaires and oral surveys in order to verify appraisal indicators designed in accordance with the competing values model. Lastly, the paper analyzes in a demographical way discrepancy in the recognitions among institutions for which the respondents work, on the basis of the outcome of the survey. As a result, the discrepancy is found not significant, which indicate that the aviation experts favour the indicators as appraisal standards. Prospective studies on the same issue may need an in-depth analysis, empowered by sufficient sampling in balance, of correlation between independent variables, then hopefully serve as a momentum for advancement of study in civil aviation.

The purpose of this study is to design, implement and evaluate a personalized search system using gathered information on users to provide more accurate search results. For this purpose, a hybrid-based user profile is constructed by using subject classification. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed system, experts directly measured and evaluated MRR, MAP and usability by using the Korean journal articles of science and technology DB. Its performance was better than the general search system in the area of "Computer Science" and "Library and Information Science". Especially better results were shown when tested on ambiguous keywords. Evaluation through in-depth interviews proved that the proposed personalized search system was more efficient in looking up and obtaining information. In addition, the proposed personalized search system provided a variety of recommendation systems which proved helpful in navigating for new information. High user satisfaction ratings on the proposed personalized search system were another proof of its usefulness. In this study, we were able to prove through expert evaluation that the proposed personalized search system was more efficient in information retrieval.
This study seeks to identify usage behaviors and improvement factors to increase the academic and practical application of value the of color image scales. For this purpose, the authors discuss the positive and negative perspectives on the evaluation of previous studies on color image scales. Furthermore, a survey was conducted with 25 color experts who have been working in the field for over five years, and in-depth interviews were conducted with five of them. The contents of the survey are usage behaviors, evaluation, and the improvement of Kobayashi and IRI color image scales. In this process, emotional adjectives that need improvement were derived, and the opinions of experts related to improvements were collected. The analysis results are as follows. 1) As a result of the usage behaviors, 92% were aware of both color image scales. Moreover, 44% used both, and 56% used only one. 2) Regarding familiarity and trust, IRI was higher than Kobayashi. 3) A total of 88% of respondents stated that color image scales were necessary. A total of 43.6% of respondents, the largest group of respondents, indicated that color image scales are necessary in the field of practice. 4) Regarding the need for improvement, 88% responded that IRI color image scales need improvement. 5) The highest response to the factors requiring improvement was the reflection of the times, which was 31.9% for Kobayashi and 30.9% for IRI. 6) When improving color image scales, the adjectives that need to be treated as the most important were shown to be modern (15.8%) → natural, romantic, wild (8.8%) → dynamic (7.0%) → classic, casual, chic (5.3%). In conclusion, limitations were identified in the use of color image scales in practice and in the research areas, and there was a demand for correction and supplementation. The results of this study will serve as a foundational study related to color image scales, and it is expected that subsequent research related to color image scales will follow.
