The purposes of this study were (a) to examine perceptions of the Legal Delay Before Divorce Program (LDBDP) in Korea among individuals, (b)to predict the need for the LDBDP, and (c) to predict the needs for psychological counseling with predicting variables. Two hundred questionnaires were completed by the clients of a legal aid center in Seoul. The majority of participants knew about and expressed their need for the LDBDP. Participants agreed to the LDBDP because it could prevent impulsive divorce, provide time to prepare for post-divorce life, provide support with counseling, and protect the children in families of divorce. Participants disagreed to the LDBDP because it only delayed the time to divorce, prolonged emotional suffering, and intruded on personal privacy. In the model test, the need for the LDBDP was significantly predicted by marital instability scale, age, education, occupation, the period of living apart, and the status of voluntary divorce. The need for psychological counseling was significantly predicted by age, having at least one child, having at least one minor child, marital period, and need for family life counseling in the suggested model.
Reinforced concrete (RC) columns are crucial in building structures and they are of higher vulnerability to terrorist threat than any other structural elements. Thus it is of great interest and necessity to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the possible responses of RC columns when exposed to high intensive blast loads. The primary objective of this study is to derive analytical formulas to assess vulnerability of RC columns using an advanced numerical modelling approach. This investigation is necessary as the effect of blast loads would be minimal to the RC structure if the explosive charge is located at the safe standoff distance from the main columns in the building and therefore minimizes the chance of disastrous collapse of the RC columns. In the current research, finite element model is developed for RC columns using LS-DYNA program that includes a comprehensive discussion of the material models, element formulation, boundary condition and loading methods. Numerical model is validated to aid in the study of RC column testing against the explosion field test results. Residual capacity of RC column is selected as damage criteria. Intensive investigations using Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) methodology are then implemented to evaluate the influence of scaled distance, column dimension, concrete and steel reinforcement properties and axial load index on the vulnerability of RC columns. The generated empirical formulae can be used by the designers to predict a damage degree of new column design when consider explosive loads. With an extensive knowledge on the vulnerability assessment of RC structures under blast explosion, advancement to the convention design of structural elements can be achieved to improve the column survivability, while reducing the lethality of explosive attack and in turn providing a safer environment for the public.

A model-based method is proposed to diagnose the gear crack in the gearbox under variable loading condition with the objective to apply it to the wind turbine CMS(Condition Monitoring System). A simple test bed is installed to illustrate the approach, which consists of motors and a pair of spur gears. A crack is imbedded at the tooth root of a gear. Tachometer-based order analysis, being independent on the shaft speed, is employed as a signal processing technique to identify the crack through the impulsive change and the kurtosis. Lumped parameter dynamic model is used to simulate the operation of the test bed. In the model, the parameter related with the crack is inversely estimated by minimizing the difference between the simulated and measured features. In order to illustrate the validation of the method, a simulated signal with a specified parameter is virtually generated from the model, assuming it as the measured signal. Then the parameter is inversely estimated based on the proposed method. The result agrees with the previously specified parameter value, which verifies that the algorithm works successfully. Application to the real crack in the test bed will be addressed in the next study.
Transmission tower-line systems are commonly slender and generally possess a small stiffness and low structural damping. They are prone to impulsive excitations induced by cable rupture and may experience strong vibration. Excessive deformation and vibration of a transmission tower-line system subjected to cable rupture may induce a local destruction and even failure event. A little work has yet been carried out to evaluate the performance of transmission tower-line systems in mountain areas subjected to cable rupture. In addition, the control for cable rupture induced vibration of a transmission tower-line system has not been systematically conducted. In this regard, the dynamic response analysis of a transmission tower-line system in mountain areas subjected to cable rupture is conducted. Furthermore, the feasibility of using viscous fluid dampers to suppress the cable rupture-induced vibration is also investigated. The three dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model of a transmission tower-line system is first established and the mathematical model of a mountain is developed to describe the equivalent scale and configuration of a mountain. The model of a tower-line-mountain system is developed by taking a real transmission tower-line system constructed in China as an example. The mechanical model for the dynamic interaction between the ground and transmission lines is proposed and the mechanical model of a viscous fluid damper is also presented. The equations of motion of the transmission tower-line system subjected to cable rupture without/with viscous fluid dampers are established. The field measurement is carried out to verify the analytical FE model and determine the damping ratios of the example transmission tower-line system. The dynamic analysis of the tower-line system is carried out to investigate structural performance under cable rupture and the validity of the proposed control approach based on viscous fluid dampers is examined. The made observations demonstrate that cable rupture may induce strong structural vibration and the implementation of viscous fluid dampers with optimal parameters can effectively suppress structural responses.

In this paper, the analysis model of a composite electromagnetic interference environment is proposed, and the composite interference consists of three types, i.e., impulse, sinusoidal, and rectangular type. Also, we have derived the p.d.f of the amplitude of the composite interference. And using a derived p.d.f, we have evaluated the performance of 16QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) system in a composite electromagnetic interference environment. From the results, it is known that when impulse type interference is weaker than the others, the shape of p.d.f is dominantly governed by the power component ratio of sinusoidal and rectangular type interference. On the other hand, when impulse type interference is stronger, the effect of the other two interference becomes insignificant. Also, It is shown that the smaller both impulsive index (A) and the mean power component ratio ($\Gamma$') in impulse type interference are, the worse the performance of 16QAM system is.
Recurring jets, which are jets ejected from the same site, are a peculiar type among various solar jet phenomena. We report such recurring jets ejecting from the same site above an active region on January 22, 2012 with high-resolution multi-wavelength observations from Solar Dynamics Observatory(SDO). We found that the recurring jets had velocities, lengths and lifetimes, but had similar directions. The visible brightening appeared at the jet base before each jet erupted. All the plasma produced by the recurring jets could not overcome the large coronal loops. It seemed that the plasma ejecting from the jet base was confined and guided by preexisting coronal loops, but their directions were not along the paths of the loops. Two of the jets formed crossing structures with the same preexisting filament. We also examined the photospheric magnetic field at the jet base, and observed a visible flux emergence, convergence and cancellation. The four recurring jets all were associated with the impulsive cancellation between two opposite polarities occurring at the jet base during each eruption. In addition, we suggest that the fluxes, flowing out of the active region, might supply the energy for the recurring jets by examining the SDO/Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) successive images. The observational results support the magnetic reconnection model of jets.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of verbal violence that adolescents face in the post-human age, when the non-face-to-face media is increasing. Methods: A survey was conducted on 305 adolescents, aged 14 to 16 years of middle school and high school students. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 25.0. Results: As a result of conducting multiple regression analysis to identify the type of conversation that affects verbal abuse of adolescents, a model with a conversation with family, conversation with other people, messenger conversation such as KakaoTalk, and video chat conversation was selected. The amount of explanation was 11.4%. (R2 = .114) Of these, non-face-to-face conversations have been shown to increase verbal violence, and face-to-face conversations with family have, in turn, lowered the risk. As a result of t-testing to examine the effect of verbal abuse experience on the verbal violence index, the damage experience was significant in depression (p = .042) and impulsive aggression (p = .021). (P = .000). Conclusion: This study reiterates the importance of family dialogue along with the fact that the development of various non-face-to-face media in the Fourth Industrial Revolution can have a negative impact on adolescent mental health.
Cargo, such as a Tension Leg Platform (TLP), Semi-submersible platform (Semi), Spar or a circular Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), are frequently dry-transported on a Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) from the point of construction to the point of installation. The voyage can span months and the overhanging portions of the hull can be subject to frequent wave slamming events in rough weather. Tie-downs or sea-fastening are usually provided to ensure the safety of the cargo during the voyage and to keep the extreme responses of the cargo, primarily for the installed equipment and facilities, within the design limits. The proper design of the tie-down is dependent on the accurate prediction of the wave slamming loads the cargo will experience during the voyage. This is a difficult task and model testing is a widely accepted and adopted method to obtain reliable sea-fastening loads and extreme accelerations. However, it is crucial to realize the difference in the inherent stiffness of the instrument that is used to measure the tri-axial sea fastening loads and the prototype design of the tie-downs. It is practically not possible to scale the tri-axial load measuring instrument stiffness to reflect the real tie-down stiffness during tests. A correlation method is required to systematically and consistently account for the stiffness differences and correct the measured results. Direct application of the measured load tends to be conservative and lead to over-design that can reflect on the overall cost and schedule of the project. The objective here is to employ the established correlation method to provide proper high-frequency responses to topsides and hull design teams. In addition, guidance for optimizing tie-down design to avoid damage to the installed equipment, facilities and structural members can be provided.

Using the MHD coronal seismology technique, we estimated the magnetic field for three spicules observed in 2008 June. For this study, we used the high resolution Ca II H line ($3968.5\;{\AA}$) images observed by the Hinode SOT and considered a vertical thin flux tube as a spicule model. To our knowledge, this is the first attempt to estimate the spicule magnetic field using the Hinode observation. From the observed oscillation properties, we determined the periods, amplitudes, minimum wavelengths, and wave speeds. We interpreted the observed oscillations as MHD kink waves propagating through a vertical thin flux tube embedded in a uniform field environment. Then we estimated spicule magnetic field assuming spicule densities. Major results from this study are as follows : (1) we observed three oscillating spicules having durations of 5-7 minutes, oscillating periods of 2-3 minutes, and transverse displacements of 700-1000 km. (2) The estimated magnetic field in spicules is about 10-18 G for lower density limit and about 43-76 G for upper density limit. (3) In this analysis, we can estimate the minimum wavelength of the oscillations, such as 60000 km, 56000 km, and 45000 km. This may be due to the much longer wavelength comparing with the height of spicules. (4) In the first event occurred on 2008 June 03, the oscillation existed during limited time (about 250 s). This means that the oscillation may be triggered by an impulsive mechanism (like low atmospheric reconnection), not continuous. Being compared with the ground-based observations of spicule oscillations, our observation indicates quite different one, i.e., more than one order longer in wavelength, a factor of 3-4 larger in wave speed, and 2-3 times longer in period.
Photodissociation dynamics of allyl alcohol ($H_2C$=CH-$CH_2OH$) has been investigated at 205 - 213 nm along the UV absorption band by measuring rotationally-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectra of OH radicals. Observed energy partitioning of the available energy among products at all photon energies investigated was similar and the barrier energy for OH production is about 574.7 kJ/mol from the OH yield measurements. The potential energy surfaces for the $S_0$, $T_1$, and $S_1$ excited states along the dissociation coordinate were obtained by ab initio quantum chemical calculations. The observed energy partitioning was successfully modeled by the "barrier-impulsive model" with the reverse barrier and the geometry obtained by the calculated potential energy surfaces. The dissociation takes place on the $T_1$ excited state potential energy surface with an energy barrier in the exit channel and a large portion of the photon energy is distributed in the internal degrees of freedom of the polyatomic products.
