This paper examines the effects of information telecommunication (IT) capital and R&D stock variation on the growth of Korean industry, using a time series approach. Most specifically, we apply the Granger causality and impulse response analysis to our examination of Koreas industrial growth, IT capital, and R&D stocks. The Johansen co-integration test is performed in order to analyze long-term relations among these variables. This research explores the way in which IT capital and R&D stocks variation from economic shocks affects the growth of Koreas industrial sector. The effects are ambiguous, however, across industrial sectors. An impulse response function analysis shows that the effects of IT capital and R&D stock fluctuations in each industrial sector are presented for different time periods.

The accuracy of impulse voltage measurement has been discussed and revised the IEC Publication 60-2 "High-voltage test techniques Part 2: Measuring Systems". Along with those activity, reference measuring systems have been experimentally investigated on their characteristics by step response method for lightning impulse voltage in our country. In this paper, using EMTP, we enable to clarify dominant factors affecting the unit step response, and to evaluate the construction of measuring system.
Ground rods as the discharge path are commonly installed to ensure the safety of human beings and facilities from the surge. Accordingly, proper grounding resistance are specified by the grounding types, and the specified resistance are also required to install the lightning protective facilities. it is needed to analyze the difference between these two resistance through the field test. Therefore, in this paper, the impulse response behavior of the ground rods is analyzed by constructing the test facilities and by testing the ground rods in multi-ground power distribution systems. The impulse responses were analyzed, in transient state, by testing the concrete poles as well since the grounding wires are installed in the concrete poles.

Dynamic analysis using impulse responses is formulated to estimate effect of slider rail shape on dynamic responses. Impulse responses are obtained on numerical nonlinear model including rigid motion of slider and fluid motion of air bearing under the slider. Dynamic characteristics of slider motion are evaluated by utilizing the decay ratio of impulse responses and modal frequencies from frequency response functions. The dynamic characteristics of the developed NFR(Near Field Recording) slider are checked by comparing those of HDD sider(Nutcracker). Also, sensitivities of slider position conditions and rotation speed on the dynamic characteristics are investigated. The researches show that the utilized method is a good indicator of designing the better slider.

This paper applies dynamic versions of shift share models to a simple regional employment model. It tests for the existence of a long run interregional employment equilibrium and then estimates the impulse response functions for each employment series to determine which shocks are temporary and which are permanent.
A method of measuring impulse response of acoustic system, two kinds of cross-correlation methods (the direct correlation method and the M-sequence modulation correlation method) were applied. According to the direct correlation method, by using stationary random noise source and by calculating the cross-correlation function between the sourece and the output signal, equivalent impulse response can be obtained not being influenced by the back ground noises. By applying this method, the measurement of echo-time patterns in rooms and oblique incident sound absorption characteristics of sound absorbing materials was carried out. In the case of the M-sequence modulation correlation method which was contrived by Aoshima, an intermittent random nosie modulated by M-sequence signal is used as the source signal, and the cross-correlation function between the M-sequence signal and the squared output signal is calculated. According to this method, equivalent energy impulse response (squared impulse response) of te propagation system can be obtained without being influenced by the back ground noises and the air fluctuation caused by wind. As the applcaition of this measuring method to the architectural acoustics, the meaurements of echo-time patterns, reverberation decays and sound pressure lev디 distributions in rooms and sound insulation efficiencies in buildings were carried out. From these experimental studies, it has been found that this M-sequence modulation correlation method is markedly useful especially for the field masurement of sound insulation under high back ground noise condition.

We Propose the methods to design the finite impulse response (FIR) and the infinite impulse response (IIR) lattice filters using Schur algorithm through the spectral factorization of the covariance matrix by circulant matrix factorization (CMF). Circulant matrix factorization is also very powerful tool used for spectral factorization of the covariance polynomial in matrix domain to obtain the minimum phase polynomial without the polynomial root finding problem. Schur algorithm is the method for a fast Cholesky factorization of Toeplitz matrix, which easily determines the lattice filter parameters. Examples for the case of the FIR filter and for the case of the In filter are included, and performance of our method check by comparing of our method and another methods (polynomial root finding and cepstral deconvolution).

The use of digital filters in the signal process field is increasing rapidly with development of the modern industrial society. Especially, detail processors, Y/C separators, ghost removing filters, standard converters (NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC) and noise reducers, all of which use digital filters, tend to be used in digital video and audio processing, CATV and various communication fields. Generally, there are two different digital filters, the Rf (infinite impulse response) filter and the FIR (finite impulse response) filter in digital filter. In this paper, we have designed FIR filter which has the phase linearity and the easiness of creation. In the design of the FIR digital filter, the window function is used to alleviate the ripples caused by Gibbs Phenomenon around the cut off frequency of the band pass. But there're some problems to choose proper window function for the design destination due to its fixed values. Therefore, in this paper, we designed a modified Hanning window with new parameter which is adaptively chosen corresponding to design objectives. The digital filter was simulated to prove the validity of the model and it was compared with the Hamming, the Manning, the Blacknan and the Kaiser window function. And we have used peak side-lobe and transient characteristics as standard of judgement.

As modern society needs to process of acquisition, storage and transmission of much information, the importance of signal processing is increasing and various digital filters are used in the two-dimensional signal such as image. And kinds of these digital filters are IIR(infinite impulse response) filter and FIR(finite impulse response) filter. And FIR filter which has the phase linearity, the easiness of creation and stability is applied to many fields. In design of this FIR filter, flatness property is a important factor in pass-band and stop-band. In this paper, we designed a 2-D Circular FIR filter using the Bernstein polynomial, it is presented flatness property in pass-band and stop-band. And we simulated the designed filter with noisy test image and compared the results with existing methods.

Recently, concrete tracks are introduced into high-speed railroads as an alternative to ballast tracks. Concrete tracks are superior to ballast tracks in the aspect of durability, maintenance and safety. However, deteriorated stiffness of railroad bed and settlement of soft ground induced by trapped or seepage water lead to problems in safety of train operation. In this research, flexural rigidity of concrete tracks was employed as an index of track displacement and a new seismic technique called FRACTAL (Flexural-Rigidity Assessment of Concrete Tracks by Antisymmetric Lamb Waves) method was proposed to delineate flexural rigidity of concrete tracks in a 2-D image. In this paper, to establish theoretical background, parametric research was performed using numerical simulations of stress-wave tests at concrete tracks. Feasibility of the FRACTAL technique was proved at a real concrete track for Korean high-speed trains. Validity of the FRACTAL technique was also verified by comparing the results of impulse-response tests performed at the same measurement array and the results of DC resistivity survey performed at a shoulder nearby the track.
