허약노인의 복합운동프로그램 참여가 체력, 일상생활수행능력 및 인지상태에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Complex Exercise Programs on Physical Fitness, Activities of Daily Living and Cognitive Status in Frail Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 허약 노인을 대상으로 복합운동프로그램 실시에 따른 체력, 일상생활수행능력과 인지상태의 변화를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 21명의 허약노인을 대상으로 하였으며, 복합운동프로그램 운동그룹 12명, 통제그룹 9명으로 구성하였다. 복합운동프로그램은 유산소 운동 중심의 노인건강체조와 인지상태향상과 체력 향상을 위한 4색 래더 운동으로 구성되어 있으며 주2회, 1회 60분 운동을 10주간 실시하였다. 운동 프로그램 적용 전·후에 근력(상지, 하지), 유연성(앉아서 윗몸 앞으로 굽히기), 민첩성(전신반응시간), 보행능력, 협응성(Timed Up and Go test), 일상생활수행능력, 인지상태를 측정하였다. 허약 노인에 복합운동프로그램의 실시 유무에 따른 집단 간의 차이를 연구한 결과 운동그룹은 상지근력(악력)에서 통제 그룹과 비교하여 유의한 향상이 있었고, 일상생활 수행능력(ADL) 역시 유의한 향상을 나타냈다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 허약 노인의 복합운동프로그램 참여는 근력(악력) 향상에 효과가 있으며, 다양한 신체 기능 및 인지상태 저하를 위한 예방 차원에서 효과가 있었다.

컴퓨터 상호작용 운동 프로그램이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향 (Effects of an Interactive Computer Exercise Programs on Balance Performance in People with Chronic Stroke)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the feasibility and efficiency of balance training program through an interactive video game regimen in people with chronic stroke. Methods : Thirty patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke were recruited. Participants were randomly assigned to either a control group (n=15) or an experimental group (n=15). The control group received the general physical therapy including of strengthening and balance exercise five times a week whereas the experimental group received a program of balance exercise with video game play based on virtual reality as well as the same typical physical therapy. The experimental group received 6 sessions for four weeks. Each session was given 5 minutes. An interactive computer game exercise regimen lasted 30 minutes without rest periods. Outcome measures for weight transfer to paretic side, non-paretic side and sit-squat-speed, sit-squat-length, sit-to-standspeed and sit-to-stand-area for the control group (n=15) and experimental group (n=15) before and after treatment were obtained by using the biorescure. Results: Outcomes demonstrated significant improvement in the experimental group compared with the control group in weight transfer to paretic side, non-paretic side and sit-squat-speed, sit-squat-length, sit-to-stand-speed. No significant training effect was showed in sit-to-stand-area between pretraining and post-training. Conclusion : An interactive computer game exercise based on task oriented approach for balance in chronic stroke were feasible. In other words, This regimen resulted in a greater improvement in dynamic balance for people with chronic stroke.

Improvement in oral function after an oral exercise program including whole-body exercises

  • Objectives: To evaluate the impact of an oral exercise program including whole-body exercises on oral function in older people. Methods: The participants (aged ≥65 years) were divided into three groups: intervention group I (only oral exercise), intervention group II (oral exercise with whole-body exercises), and control group (no intervention). The oral health status, saliva flow rate, and oral muscle strength were evaluated. Analyses were performed to compare the three groups and identify the changes in the aforementioned parameters before and after the program. Results: The saliva flow rate significantly increased in intervention groups I and II after the program. Oral muscle strength evaluation using the Iow a oral performance instrument showed that the anterior tongue strength increased significantly in intervention group I; the posterior tongue strength and cheek strength also increased but not significantly. The anterior tongue, posterior tongue, and cheek strengths significantly increased in intervention group II. Conclusions: The oral exercise program including whole-body exercises showed positive effects on the saliva flow rate and oral strength. No significant differences were observed in the quality of life related to oral health.

초등학교 과학탐구력 측정을 위한 수행평가 도구 개발 (Development of Performance Assessment of Scientific Inquiring Ability in Elementary School)

  • The present educational and social circumstances require the improvement of science education and the promotion of scientific technology simultaneously Under this situation, it is necessary to develop the performance assessment evaluating the ability of scientific inquiry. The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable instrument of the performance assessment that is can evaluate the scientific inquiring ability. The characteristics of the instrument developed through this study, are as follows, 1. The performance assessment can be impartially achieved for all the elements of scientific inquiry, which are required in the units of elementary science from 3rd to 6th grade of elementary school. 2. To maintain the objectivity of performance assessment, the detailed standpoints and standards are established. 3. The instruments are devised to evaluate the thinking skills with the experimental reports of student, the operation skills by the check list of evaluation that the teacher's observation for the student are recorded. 4. Considering the level of elementary school student, the items required the complex thinking and the investigative skills are exclude as much as possible. 5. The items are arranged according to the learning steps of elementary school, so that the evaluation may be achieved in parallel with the process of the real teaching -learning in class. 6. According to circumstances, make use of these materials for the evaluation as the practical teaching-learning materials instead of the normal teaching-learning materials The first field trial with the instrument was carried out, using a sample of 20 students from the 3rd to 6th at K and Y elementary school located in Kwangju city. The results of mean achievement quotient for each grade are as follows, the first term of 3rd grade (experiment and exercise skills ; 85%, inquiry thinking skills ; 74%), the second term of 3rd grade (experiment and exercise skills : 81%, inquiry thinking skills ; 76%), the first term of 4th grade (experiment and exercise skills ; 70%, inquiry thinking skills ; 59%), the second term of 4th grade (experiment and exercise skills ; 61%, inquiry thinking skills ; 71%), the first term of 5th grade (experiment and exercise skills ; 84%, inquiry thinking skills ; 67%), the second term of 5th grade (experiment and exercise skills; 73%, inquiry thinking skills ; 70%), the first term of 6th grade (experiment and exercise skills : 83%, inquiry thinking skills ; 84%), the second term of 6th grade (experiment and exercise skills ; 87%, inquiry thinking skills ; 81%).

  • The purposes of this research were to understand the realities of health management and to analyze the subjective, functional, psychological, and social health effects of the application of an exercise and education program to manage health on an elderly population residing in an agricultural community. The specific purposes of this research were: 1. to determine the subjective, functional, psychological health conditions, and performance level of instrumental activities of daily living of both the experimental and control groups before introducing a health management program, and then 2. to compare these with both the experimental and control groups' subjective, functional, psychological health condition and performance level of instrumental activities of daily living after applying the health management program. The health management program was introduced to the experimental group (50 people) but not to the control group (50 people). The health management program was composed of a health exercise program and a health education program. A comparative study of subjective health conditions was done to examine the effect of the health management program and the characteristics of health related variables before and after the program application. 요부안정화 운동프로그램이 요양보호사의 만성요통에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Lumbar Stabilization Exercise For Caregivers With Chronic Low Back Pain)

  • The objective of this research was to examine the effects of lumber stabilization exercise and a general physiotherapy program for caregivers with chronic low back pain. Sixteen people participated in this study and were randomly assigned to two groups for either lumbar stabilization exercise or for general physiotherapy, respectively. The experiment was performed for eight weeks. To examine the general as well as the medical characteristics of the participants, the following measurements were used: Visual Analogue Scale (VAS); Oswestry Disability Index (ODI); Back Performance Scale (BPS); Roland - Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ); and Beck Depression Index (BDI). To compare the general and medical characteristics of the participants in the two groups, an independent t test were used. During the experiment, a paired t test was conducted to determine whether there was a significant difference in the values of VAS, ODI, BPS, RMDQ, and BDI before and after the experiment. To examine the difference in the VAS, ODI, BPS, RMDQ, and BDI values in the two groups, ANCOVA was used with pre test values as a covariate. According to the test results, in the lumbar stabilization exercise group, the VAS, ODI, BPS, RMDQ, and BDI values showed a statistically significant difference before and after the test (p<.05). In comparison, in the general physiotherapy program group, only the ODI and BPS values showed a statistically significant level of improvement. Regarding the degree of improvement, participants in the lumbar stabilization exercise group showed statistically significant progress compared to those in the general physiotherapy group. In summary, lumbar stabilization exercise is regarded as more effective than general physiotherapy for treating caregivers with chronic low back pain. In future studies, it will be useful to expand the research and to examine the long term effects of lumbar stabilization exercise on workers.

IPA 분석을 통한 중·고등학교의 아침운동 개선방안 (Improvement Direction of Middle & High School Exercise in the Morning by IPA)

  • 이 연구는 IPA분석을 통해 중·고등학교 아침운동의 중요도와 만족도에 대한 인식의 차이를 알아보고 아침운동의 개선 및 시사점을 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 편의표본방법을 이용하여 430명의 설문조사 자료를 분석하였고, 대응표본 t-test, IPA매트릭스를 도식화를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 아침운동 참여 IPA 분석은 I사분면 : '스트레스 해소', '학교생활의 즐거움', '운동 기능향상', '친구들과의 관계개선', '체육수업에 도움', '건강 및 체력증진', '운동시설 및 용구의 양과 질', '규율이나 규칙', '지도교사의 리더십', '열정적인 지도', '공정한 지도', '운동 능력향상', '체육수업 이해에 도움', II사분면 : '소질 및 특기개발', '시작시간', '시설 및 용구의 안전관리', '새로운 스포츠로 구성', '요구와 흥미를 고려', '수준고려', '성별고려', III사분면 : '성격의 변화', '다양한 종목의 실기능력', '사고력증진', IV사분면 : '참여시간의 양', '학생들과의 의사소통', '수업내용을 쉽게 설명'의 속성이 포함되어 있었다. 둘째, 개선방안은 1) 안전교육 연계 프로그램, 2) 지적, 정서적 기여 프로그램, 3) 성별, 수준별 프로그램이 제시 되어야 할 것이며 4) 앞서 전술한 프로그램의 질적향상을 위한 전문인력 확충이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

PNF 매트 운동이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형수행력 향상에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Mat Activities in PNF on Improvement of Balance Performance in Stroke Patients)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mat activities in PNF on improvement of balance performance in stroke patients. Methods : Included 12 persons with stroke who were living in the community. They participated in exercise class for 60minutes duration three times a week for 6 weeks. Mat activities in PNF program was modified PNF patterns and techniques on various posture. Balance indexes were measured at pre-treatment, post-treatment and follow-up by K.A.T.3000. Results : Balance index scores had larger improvements after 6 weekends of treatment(p<.05) than pre-treatment, also follow-up test(p<.05). Conclusion : The result of this study showed that PNF mat activities intervention can improve balance performance in disabled persons after stroke.

체간 근육 안정화 운동이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향 (Effect of The Trunk Muscle Stabilization Training on Balance for Chronic Stroke Patients)

  • 본 연구는 만성 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 하여 체간 안정화운동과 체간 저항운동이 균형능력 향상에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 한다. 이 연구의 대상자는 만성 뇌졸중 환자 30명(남: 15, 여: 15)를 무작위로 배분하여 주3회 12주 동안 실시하였다. 균형증진 운동은 선행 연구를 참조하여 수정 보완한 것으로 6가지의 운동으로 구성하였다. 대상자들의 균형능력의 측정은 기능적 기립 균형 검사, 기능적 전방 팔 뻗기 검사, 실행능력 지향형 운동성 평가, 버그균형척도를 이용하였다. 기능적 기립 균형검사와 실행능력 지향형 운동성 평가에서는 체간 저항 운동군과 체간 안정화운동군 두 군에서 향상되었다. 기능적 전방 팔 뻗기 검사에서는 체간 안정화 운동군에서 조금 더 유의하게 향상되었다. 따라서, 체간 저항 운동도 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 균형능력 향상을 시키지만 체간 안정화운동이 균형 능력 향상에 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

불안정 지지면과 안정 지지면에서의 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 능력 비교 (Comparison of Balance Ability between Stable and Unstable Surfaces for Chronic Stroke Patients)

  • 본 연구는 만성 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 하여 불안정한 지지면과 안정 지지면에서의 균형 훈련이 균형능력향상에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 한다. 이 연구의 대상자는 만성 뇌졸중 환자 30명(남: 16, 여: 14)으로 안정지지면 군과 불안정 지지면 군으로 무작위로 배분하여 주 5회 6주 동안 실시하였다. 균형증진 운동은 선행 연구를 참조하여 수정 보완한 것으로 6가지의 운동으로 구성하였다. 대상자들의 균형능력의 측정은 기능적 기립 균형 검사, 기능적 전방 팔 뻗기 검사, 실행능력 지향형 운동성 평가를 이용하였다. 기능적 기립 균형검사와 실행능력 지향형 운동성 평가에서는 안정지지면 운동군과 불안정 지지면 운동군 두 군에서 향상되었다. 기능적 전방 팔 뻗기 검사에서는 불안정 지지면 군에서만 향상되었다. 따라서, 안정 지지면에서의 운동도 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 균형능력 향상을 시키지만 불안정 지지면 운동군에서의 균형운동이 균형 능력 향상에 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
