The block assembly process takes more than half of the total shipbuilding processes. Therefore, it is very important to have a practically useful block assembly process planning system which can build plans of maximum efficiency with minimum man-hours required. However, the process plans are often not readily executable in the assembly shops due to severe imbalance of workloads. This problem arises because the process planning is done on block by block basis in current practice without paying any attention to the load distribution among the assembly shops. this paper presents the development of an automated hull block assembly process planning system which results in the most effective use of production resources and also produces plans that enable efficient time management. If the load balance of assembly shops is to be considered at the time of process planning, the task becomes complicated because of the increased computational complexity. To solve this problem, a new approach is adopted in this research in which the load balancing function and process planning function are iterated alternately providing to each other contexts for subsequent improvement. The result of case study with the data supplied from the shipyard shows that the system developed in this research is very effective and useful.

The goal of this study is to examine municipality comprehensive plans by recognizing the problem that adverse impacts of urban regeneration impede the sustainability of specific renewal project. 10 major cities in Korea that are experiencing urban decline were chosen for the study area and plan evaluation indexes were adopted based on the sustainable urban regeneration principles in terms of environmental, social, and economic aspects. Plan evaluation was conducted by employing the content analysis method and developed assessment indexes for three sectors (factual basis, goal/objective, and policy/action) of plan. The findings show that policies, such as 'expansion of parks in urban area,' 'pedestrian-oriented street improvement project,' and 'countermeasures for local industry revitalization,' should be fundamentally included in adopting sustainable urban regeneration plans. Plan scores regarding sustainable urban regeneration had an insignificant relationship with the status of administrative district and plan adopted year. This is because metropolitan municipalities, including Ulsan, Daejeon, and Daegu, received relatively low plan score compared to local governments like Goyang and Suwon. Also, Daegu and Suwon, which established their comprehensive plan in 2018 obtained lower score than Seoul and Incheon, where its plans were created before 2015. Evaluation protocol and indexes that were suggested in this study can be used while reorganizing each locality's comprehensive plan, and thus, play as one of major bases in preparing future sustainable urban regeneration projects.

The present study is a preliminary attempt to effectively incorporate the environmental issue of coastal erosion into the environmental assessment process of Korea. We assess the status of the environmental assessment on coastal erosion for the previous development plans and provide potential directions for the improvement. The considerable project plans should be screened for the impact of coastal erosion, which occupies about 20% of the total project plans reviewed, and the ratio increased with project scale. In addition to screening process, most process including scoping, baseline study, impact assessment, and follow-up need to be improved. The potential directions of improvement are provided in terms of appropriate guideline development, employment of cumulative impact assessment, follow-up improvement and rearrangement of the preparation regulation of environmental assessment. Emphasis is given for follow-up process to review post-monitoring period, to employ science compensation, and to consider the establishment of relevant institution. Final suggestion is made for the establishments of comprehensive national plan to manage coastal erosion and streamlined environmental process from strategic to project levels based on the national plan.

International book fairs are business enterprise to promote and facilitate international trade of copyright. National reading improvement policies, on the other hand, are supposed to be made to maximize the role of national and regional libraries, not just to boost publication industry. However, Korean government authorities of the reading improvement policies and the Organizing Committee of the Seoul International Book Fair have mapped out and, in effect, carried out their plans as if reading improvement policies are closely related to hosting international book fairs. It is important to realize that hosting book fair has pecuniary motives while making policies for reading improvement must be feared toward the betterment of the general public by reading. In this respect, this study has attempted to point out the problems of the Seoul International Book Fair that are regarded as to relate to reading improvement.

The purpose of this research is to identify and develop technology protection plans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by analyzing past technology leakage patterns which were experienced by SMEs. We identified factors which affect the technology leakage, and analyzed patterns of the influences using a data mining algorithms. A decision tree analysis showed several significant factors which lead to technology leakage, so we conclude that preemptive actions must be put in place for prevention. We expect that this research will contribute to determining the priority of activities necessary to prevent technology leakage accidents in Korean SMEs. We expect that this research will help SMEs to determine the priority of preemptive actions necessary to prevent technology leakage accidents within their respective companies.

Current Korea furniture market is holding and leading with Hanssem, Livart, and other 10 main furnitures companies. The Hanssem furniture company is the first sales in Korea. And whole sales revenue was over 1 trillion KRW. Recently in Korea furniture market is changing rapidly by announcement of IKEA of expansion to Korea. IKEA is the number one furniture company in north european countries. Also, this company spreads at world widely, 44 countries and 358 shops, with their own marketing plans between lowest prices and developing north european furniture styles. Korean furniture companies are get in dangerous condition, and especially serious problems near Korean furniture company using same market place with IKEA. This research is expecting IKEA's brand power will hitting Korea furniture industries. Therefore, Korea furniture companies and industries need analysis of IKEA furniture, marketing strategy of IKEA, production strategy and other plans must be prepare for expansion of IKEA in Korea.

Expectation for improvement of creativity and problem-solving capability has increased the creative robotics classes in the form of after-school activity in more than half of total elementary schools. While Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has promoted 'Green IT Guidelines' as a part of 'Eco-friendly Green School Development Project', the Green issues have not been considered enough in those creative robotics classes. In this paper, we would like to address the Green issues, especially in the r-Learning services based on UCR (User Created Robots). First, trend of green IT education, r-Learning services and UCR are reviewed. And the current status of eco-related operations and teachers' perception in the robotics classes of elementary schools is investigated. Examples of Green UCR are also searched and green programs based on the three kinds of UCR, UC-TR, UC-AR, UC-CR, are explored. Finally, we propose action plans to promote the UCR-based r-Learning service reflecting green issues.

This study aims to propose design directions for the eco-friendly, sustainable underground campus in terms of integrated design. For this purpose, theoretical investigation, design methodology and quality investigation, analytical case studies on the domestic and foreign underground campus, and user survey for POE(Post Occupancy Evaluation) and analysis on the recently built domestic underground campus plans were conducted. As a conclusion, design direction and improvement areas for the synthesized sustainable underground campus plan were proposed. Underground campus plan will be a great alternative for a 21st century sustainable campus if well-developed plans with organized design guidelines are established.

The need for structuring an organized and systematic industrial standardization system in which to administers all standards being managed by various executive branches of the government is more than ever becoming important. Also, as the global market continues to become unified, strengthening ties to other international standardization organizations and intensify cooperative activities must not be overlooked. What our nation need to focus at the present time, in regard to industrial standardization activities, is to construct a detailed plans for making inroad for our experts into international standardization organizations at the same time to train and cultivate experts under an effective long and short term, and systematic plans for the purpose of getting involved in international standard making activities.

In the last two decades, several tele-operated and machine-vision-assisted systems have been developed in the construction and maintenance area, such as pavement crack sealing, sewer pipe rehabilitation, and excavation. In developing such tele-operated and machine-vision-assisted systems, trajectory plans are very important tasks for the optimal motions of robots whether their environments are structured or unstructured. This paper presents an optimal trajectory planning algorithm used for a machine-vision-assisted automatic pavement crack sealing system. In this paper, the performance of the proposed optimal trajectory planning algorithm is compared with the greedy trajectory plans, which are used in the previously developed pavement crack sealing systems. The comparison is based on the computational cost vs. the overall gains in crack sealing efficiency. Finally, it is concluded that the proposed algorithm plays an important role in the productivity improvement of the developed automatic pavement crack sealing system.
