경사지게 식립된 임플랜트 모형에서 지대주를 인상용 코핑으로 이용한 새로운 인상법의 정확성 비교 연구 (Comparative accuracy of new implant impression technique using abutments as impression copings with an angulated implant model)

  • 연구목적: 시멘트 유지형 지대주를 인상용 코핑으로 이용하고 레진이나 금속 구조물에 접착하여 스플린팅하는 새로운 인상법을 시도하였다. 연구의 목적은 첫 번째, 3개의 임플랜트가 $15^{\circ}$ 경사지게 식립된 모형에서 closed tray 인상법과 레진 스플린팅한 open tray 인상법의 정확성을 비교하는 것이고 두 번째, 새로운 인상법의 정확성을 앞의 두 가지 인상법과 비교하는 것이다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 3개의 임플랜트 아날로그가 선상으로 배열되고 가운데 아날로그는 모형에 수직이고 양쪽 끝 아날로그는 이것에 앞뒤로 $15^{\circ}$ 경사지게 배열된 주모형과 주모형에 잘 적합되는 기준구조물을 제작하였다. closed tray 인상법, 레진 스플린팅한 open tray 인상법, 지대주-레진구조물 접착 인상법, 지대주-금속구조물 접착 인상법, 각 10개씩 40번의 인상을 채득하여 복제모형을 제작하였다. 이미지 처리할 수 있는 광학 현미경을 이용하여 기준구조물과 복제모형내의 아날로그와의 수직간격을 측정하여 인상의 정확성을 평가하였다. 통계처리는 one-way ANOVA와 사후 검정으로 Tukey test를 5% 유의수준으로 시행하였다. 결과: closed tray 인상법;74.3 (${\pm}33.4$)${\mu}m$의 간격은 레진 스플린팅한 open tray 인상법과 다른 두 가지 새로운 인상법보다 간격의 크기가 통계적 유의성 있게 컸다(P<.05). 지대주-금속구조물 접착 인상법;42.5 (${\pm}11.9$)${\mu}m$은 다른 인상법들 보다 간격의 크기가 통계적 유의성 있게 작았다(P<.05). 지대주-레진구조물 접착 인상법;51.0 (${\pm}14.1$)${\mu}m$은 레진 스플린팅한 open tray 인상법50.3 (${\pm}16.9$)${\mu}m$과 통계적 유의성 있는 차이를 보이지 않았다(P>.05). 결론: 이 연구의 한계 내에서, 레진 스플린팅한 open tray 인상법은 closed tray 인상법보다 우수한 정확성을 나타내었고, 지대주를 금속구조물에 접착하는 새로운 인상법의 정확성은 레진 스플린팅한 open tray 인상법보다 우수하였다.

  • The present work reviews the methods to evaluate elastic-plastic material characteristics by indentation tests. Especially the representative stress and strain values used in some papers are critically analyzed. The values should not only represent the load-depth curve, but also represent the whole of deformed material around the impression. We briefly introduce other indentation techniques to evaluate residual stresses, creep properties, and fracture toughness. We also review some technical problems that are related to the accuracy issues in indentation tests.

급성 과두 걸림의 치료에서 퍼티 고무 인상재로 제작한 임시 전방위치장치의 적용 (Effect of Temporary Anterior Positioning Splint Using Putty Impression Material on Acute Closed Lock)

  • 폐구성 과두 걸림이라고도 하는 비정복성 관절원판변위는 관절원판이 과두로부터 전위되어 과두 운동 시에 정상위치로 되돌아가지 않는 임상상태를 말한다. 비정복성 관절원판변위가 급성으로 나타난 경우에는 초기 치료에서 수조작에 의한 관절원판의 정복을 시도하여야 한다. 일반적으로 과두 걸림 발생 후 1주일 이내에 수조작술을 시행하는 경우에는 대개 성공적으로 관절원판이 정복되는 경우가 많지만 그 이상 경과된 경우에는 성공률이 떨어지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 수조작술을 통해 관절원판의 정복이 일어난 이후에는 전방위치 교합장치를 즉시 장착시켜서 폐구성 과두 걸림이 다시 발생하지 않도록 하는 것이 좋다. 하지만 전방위치장치를 제작하는데 시간이 많이 소요되므로 임상에서 즉시 제작하여 장착하기는 현실적으로 어려운 경우가 많다. 또한 전방위치장치를 제작하기 전까지 자가 중합 아크릴릭 레진을 이용한 임시 전방위치 장치를 제작하여 사용하는 방법도 레진의 냄새로 인한 불편감 및 시간 소요 등으로 널리 이용되고 있지는 않다. 또한 레진 알러지가 있거나 교정 치료 중이어서 레진을 사용하기 어려운 경우, 또는 행동조절이 불가능한 일부 환자들에게는 이 장치를 적용하기 어렵다. 따라서, 수조작술을 통해 관절원판이 정복된 경우 레진 대신 퍼티 고무 인상재를 이용하여 임시 전방장치를 제작한 후 단기간 적용하여 폐구성 과두 걸림을 치료한 증례를 통해 그 효용성을 확인해 보고자 하였다.

새로운 선재(船材)로서의 Mesh Reinforced Cement (Mesh Reinforced Cement as New Shipbuilding Material)

  • When one speaks of a concrete ship, most people have an impression of heavy solid rough edged masses of concrete very unlike anything floatable. In the form represented by what is called "MRC", concrete does, however, become light, homogeneous, elastic, resilient, and above all strong still retaining the basic benefit of inexpensive well known concrete properties. The fundamental principal behind this material as a new shipbuilding material is based on the development of "ferro-cement" in the early 1940s by an Italian Engineer Pierre Luigi-Nervi. The "MRC" or Mesh Reinforced Cement has been studied by Korea institute of Science and Technology in connection with a research project "The Small Ship Construction Utilizing Domestic Materials And Its Economic Analysis," of which reports have been issued previously. In this exporsition, some of the basic qualities of "MRC" are discussed in general terms.

Fabrication of a custom polyetherketoneketone post-and-core with digital technology

  • An ideal post material should have physical properties similar to those of dentin. Post materials with high elastic moduli may cause root fractures. This clinical report describes the treatment of a severely damaged tooth using a recently introduced material. Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) is a semicrystalline high-performance thermoplastic polymer. PEKK is a promising material for custom post-and-core fabrication because of its elasticity close to that of dentin, good shock absorbance, machinability, and low cost. A laboratory scanner was used to digitize the conventional impression of a severely damaged maxillary right first molar. A custom PEKK post-and-core was designed and milled using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing technology. Using the proposed technique, a custom PEKK post-and-core was fabricated accurately and human error was reduced. Restoration was luted with resin cement. Custom PEKK post-and-core restorations are a viable alternative for treating severely damaged teeth.

전악인상채득시 인상용 트레이가 경석고 모형의 정확도에 미치는 영향 (THE INFLUENCE OF IMPRESSION TRAYS ON THE ACCURACY OF THE STONE CASTS POURED FROM COMPLETE-ARCH IMPRESSIONS)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of reproduction of stone casts made from complete-arch impressions using different trays. The trays used were : 1) nonperforated custom tray, 2) perforated custom tray, 3) nonperforated Rim-Lock tray, 4) perforated stock tray. Impressions were made from an dentulous acrylic resin model with metal inserts in first premolars and second molars. Transverse distance, sagittal distance and diagonal distance were measured using 4 landmarks. Measurements were made by using 3 dimensional measuring machine. The impression material used was an addition silicone. Impressions were poured at once with a Type IV dental stone. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and student t-test with a sample size of five. The results were as follows : 1. There were statistical differences in amount of dimensional change in according to the tray types. In amount of mean dimensional change, perforated custom tray was the first smallest, nonperforated custom tray was the second, nonperforated Rim-Lock tray and perforated stock tray were the largest. 2. There were statistical differences in amount of dimensional change between nonperforated custom tray and nonperforated Rim-Lock tray, and between perforated custom tray perforated stock tray. 3. There were satistical differences in amount of dimensional change between nonperforated custom tray and perforated custom tray, but there was not a statistical difference between nonperforated Rim-Lock tray and perforated stock tray. 4. There was not a statistical difference in amount of dimensional change between upper and lower arch in all tray types.

알긴산소오다 함량이 실험적 알지네이트 인상재의 압축변형율, 탄성회복율 및 압축강도에 미치는 영향 (INFLUENCE OF SODIUM ALGINATE CONTENTS ON THE STRAIN IN COMPRESSION, ELASTIC RECOVERY, AND COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF EXPERIMENTAL ALGINATE IMPRESSION MATERIALS)

  • The purpose of this study was to search the influences of the increase of the contents of sodium alginate in the experimental alginates on the some mechanical properties. 3 commercial alginates were selected for the purpose of comparison of the results of experiments. 7 experimental alginates were manufactured with the rise of contents of sodium alginate from 8.8% to 18.3% with the decrease of contents of diatomaceous earth and with the constant contents of calcium sulfate 12.5%. sodium phosphate 2.2%, zinc fluoride 2.0%. Splitable metal mold with 12.5mm diameter and 20.0mm height was filled with mixed alginate to prepare the cylinder shaped specimens. Strain in compression, elastic recovery, compressive strength were tested using the ISO specification number 1563, alginate impression material. Experimental groups were 7, and 10 specimens were used for each test items and each groups. Following results were obtained ; 1. Strain in compression was decreased with the increase of sodium alginate contents (p=0.0077, r2 = 0.6302). 2. Elastic recovery was decreased with the increase of sodium alginate contents but was not significant(p=0.0639, r2=0.7449). 3. Compressive strength was increased with the increase of sodium alginate contents (p<0.0001, r2 = 0.9617). These results mean that the increase of sodium alginate contents make alginate harder but may result the increased permanent deformation.

인테리어 내장재의 고급감에 관한 시각 및 촉각변수의 수량화 모형 개발 (Development of Quantification Models on Visual and Tactile Design Characteristics for the Luxuriousness of Interior Covering Materials)

  • Affective aspects of design attributes such as color, Pattern, and texture are important to the overall impression and the success of interior products. Among all the interior materials, wallpapers and flooring materials take up largest construction area and they are main components in creating affective impression for customers. This study aims to investigate the relationship between luxuriousness and related affective variables and design elements of wallpapers and flooring materials. The approach consists of 3 steps: (1) selecting related affective features and product design attributes through a literature survey, opinion of expert panel, and focus group interview, (2) conducting evaluation experiments, and (3) developing Kansei models using multivariate statistical analysis and analyzing critical attributes. Evaluation experiment was conducted using a questionnaire made up of 7-point scale and 100-point scale and 30 housewives and 20 interior designers participated in the evaluation experiment. The result of evaluation was analyzed through principal component regression and quantification I analysis. As a result of analyzing the survey data, the relationship between luxuriousness and related affective features and product design attributes was identified, moreover a optimal combination of the design component was identified. Consequently, it is expected that the results of the study would be a basis of the concept of emotion-based design by giving insights about how customers perceive the luxuriousness and suggesting the optimal combination, and providing specific quantitative design guidelines.

DENTIN BONDING AGENTS들의 상아세관 밀봉 효과에 관한 연구 (STUDY ON DENTINAL TUBULES SEALING EFFECTS OF DENTIN BONDING AGENTS)

  • Dentin hypersensitivity medicaments such as Gluma, Scotchbond 2, All-Bond 2, which are resin adhesives, were used to compare the sealing effects of dentinal tubule under mechanical stress. Topical application of above medicaments on the dentin surfaces of extracted teeth followed by artificial tooth brushing for 6 weeks was performed for the comparison. The following conclusions on the degree of dentinal tubule exposure versus time by were reached by using polyvinyl siloxane impression material for taking the impression, epoxy resin for the duplication and SEM for observing the surface. 1. SEM was used to compare the accuracy of the duplicated surface, but no differences were found when teeth samples and the duplicated surfaces were observed. 2. After comparing the degree of dentinal tubules exposure with varnish applied contrast group, resin adhesive materials showed much less exposure as time went by. 3. The results indicated that AU-Bond 2 adhesive, under mechanical stress, showed lesser exposure of dentinal tubules comparing with Gluma and Scotchbond 2 adhesives After the results were put together, it was demonstrated that resin replica method is an useful way to evaluate the treatment effects of the dentinal tubule hypersensitivity medicaments. Also, it was noticed that under mechanical stress, All-Bond 2, classified as fourth generation, illustrated the best dentinal tubules sealing effects.

Accuracy of casts produced from conventional and digital workflows: A qualitative and quantitative analyses

  • PURPOSE. Comparing the accuracy of casts produced from digital workflow to that of casts produced from conventional techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Whole arch alginate (ALG) and polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) impressions were taken with stock trays and custom trays, respectively. The ALG impressions were poured with type III dental stone, while the PVS impressions were poured with type IV dental stone. For the digital workflow, IOS impressions were taken and physical casts were produced by 3D printing. In addition, 3D printed casts were produced from images obtained from a laboratory scanner (LS). For each technique, a total of 10 casts were produced. The accuracies of the whole arch and separated teeth were virtually quantified. RESULTS. Whole arch cast accuracy was more superior for PVS followed by LS, ALG, and IOS. The PVS and ALG groups were inferior in the areas more susceptible to impression material distortion, such as fossae and undercut regions. The LS casts appeared to have generalized errors of minor magnitude influencing primarily the posterior teeth. The IOS casts were considerably more affected at the posterior region. On the contrary, the IOS and LS casts were more superior for single tooth accuracy followed by PVS and ALG. CONCLUSION. For whole arch accuracy, casts produced from IOS were inferior to those produced from PVS and ALG. The inferior outcome of IOS appears to be related to the span of scanning. For single tooth accuracy, IOS showed superior accuracy compared to conventional impressions.
