The purpose of this study was to find out the clothing values and meanings by material values. The researcher used the scales of Richins & Dawson (1992) for Materialism Scale. The scales of Prentice (1987) and Ricllins (1994a, 1994b) for privateand public meanings of clothing. The scales of Prentice (1987) and Richins (1994a, 1994b) for importance clothes of private and public meanings.. The scales of Creekmore (1968) for clothing values. The subjects of this study were 154 girl students in the university. The research materials was analyzed by Frequency, MANOVA and Scheffe test The results of this study were as follows; 1) Higher group of material values had an orientation that emphasizes enjoyment values of clothing in private moaning and seems expensive of clothing in public meaning. 2) All group set a high value on both suits and jeans in clothing of private meanie that meant both interpersonal and enjoyment values and put much worth on both suits and mustang that concerned both costly and brand. 3) Higher group had significantly difference in aesthetic value and political value, and lower had significantly differene ineconomic value and theoretical value.

This paper attempts to explore the need and importance of values integration in educational activities to mitigate learning crisis and promote sustainable learning achievement. The traditional approach, commercial motive, focus on instrumental knowledge coupled with many other contemporary issues have collectively smothered the fundamental humanistic principles of education. To avert the situation and execute the core objectives, we need to shift our focus: a shift from instrumental knowledge to humanistic-transformational knowledge; a shift from the traditional approach of supplying and storing information to learning to deal with the real-world problems; a shift from head to heart. Values integration is an attempt to initiate and promote this shift. Rather than teaching values and moral principles under a particular subject heading, values need to be a part of everyday in-school and out-school activities. To concretize this concept, a model is proposed in this study as a holistic model of values integration via whole school ambiances and community support.

Statisticians, or data miners, are often requested to assess the importances of input variables in the given supervised learning model. For the purpose, one may rely on separate ad hoc measures depending on modeling types, such as linear regressions, the neural networks or trees. Consequently, the conceptual consistency in input variable importance measures is lacking, so that the measures cannot be directly used in comparing different types of models, which is often done in data mining processes, In this short communication, we propose a unified approach to the importance measurement of input variables. Our method uses sensitivity analysis which begins by perturbing the values of input variables and monitors the output change. Research scope is limited to the models for continuous output, although it is not difficult to extend the method to supervised learning models for categorical outcomes.

Articles on fashion of major daily newspapers for about one years after I.M.F. system were analyzed. The influence of I.M.F. system, values, the importance of costumes at economic crisis were studied through fashion at that time. The major conclusions of the study are as follows : 1. Costumes made in Korea, national brands In Korean words, practical styles, multi-functional design, economic tastes and mixed fashions were emphasized. 2. The sound and patriotic values were pursued through domestic fashion and creative ideas were developed to overcome economic crisis. 3. The meaning of costumes was still important under shrink of consumption. Costumes were useful tools to estimate ability and express aesthetic appreciation. The sound fashion trends under I.M.F. system reflect the reflection on overconsume and the will to overcome economic crisis. Such trends should be fixed for the establishment of economic prosperity for the nation.

The paper brings to question how image as a medium is becoming a replacement for traditional letters in the modern culture. Reflection the importance of image in the context of modern society with the changes in the values of communication. The importance of letters in its traditional format as a book that signified not only the method of communication but also power for those who governed during the days of illiteracy in the past has changed, in the beginning with the development of printing and today with movies etc. that supply endless images instead of words as a means of communication. The images are the next generation in the method of communication and can be noted from the earliest civilizations such as Egypt where the method of communication was not words but drawings that depicted specific significations. The use of images for communication purposes in light of this fact suggests that images was being used before words in societies and its communicative values greater than that of words.

The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of personal values on fashion orientation. As personal values, this study adopted materialism and consumer conformity. Data were gathered by surveying university students living in Seoul metropolitan area using convenient sampling, and 325 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. In analyzing data, confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis were conducted using structural equation modeling. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that fashion orientation has three factors such as fashion leadership, fashion interest, and importance of being well dressed. Path analysis showed that centrality factor of materialism spurred all three factors of fashion orientation and that happiness factor of materialism gave rise to importance of being well dressed of fashion orientation. Informational conformity also significantly increased all three factors of fashion orientation.

The heat and flow characteristics in a parallel-flow heat exchanger were examined numerically to obtain its optimal design variables. A desirability function approach was introduced to optimize its performance with respect to the design parameters over the design domain. By varying the importance of heat transfer and pressure drop which are out put variables, the optimal values of the design parameters are examined. As a result, the us-age of the desirability function is very effective for the optimization of the design variables in a heat exchanger since the changes of optimal values are physically appropriate by varying the importance of each output variable.

목적 : 노인의 건강한 삶의 방식으로서 라이프스타일에 대한 연구가 증가하고 있다. 라이프스타일이 개개인의 가치와 삶의 태도를 반영하는 개념임에도 불구하고, 아직까지 개인의 어떠한 가치가 라이프스타일을 건강하게 유도하는지 파악한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 노인의 라이프스타일 유형을 두 가지로 분류하고, 머신러닝을 활용하여 어떠한 개인적 가치가 건강한 라이프스타일에 우선적으로 작용하는지 파악하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 지역사회에 거주하는 55세 이상 중고령 노인 300명을 대상으로 횡단 연구를 수행하였다. 라이프스타일은 Yonsei Lifestyle Profile-Active, Balanced, Connected, Diverse (YLP-ABCD) 응답을 사용하여 잠재프로파일 분석을 통해 유형화하였다. 라이프스타일 유형을 예측하는 개인적 가치는 YLP-V (Values) 응답을 수집하여, 예측성능이 가장 높은 머신러닝 알고리즘을 선정한 후 상대적 중요도를 파악하였다. 결과 : 잠재프로파일 분석 결과, 라이프스타일은 건강한 라이프스타일 실천형(48.87%), 비실천형(51.13%)으로 분류되었다. 실천형에 속한 중고령 노인은 비실천형에 비해 사회관계가 활발한 특성을 나타내었다. 본 연구에 포함된 머신러닝 알고리즘 중 가장 우수한 성능을 보인 모델은 서포트 벡터 머신으로, 정확도 96%, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) 영역 95%로 나타났다. 본 알고리즘을 바탕으로 개인적 가치의 상대적 중요도를 분석한 결과, 건강한 식단, 건강 매체, 여가활동, 건강 제품 및 머신러닝에 주의를 기울일수록, 해당 가치에 따라 중고령 노인은 건강한 라이프스타일을 실천하는 그룹에 속할 가능성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구는 중고령 노인의 사회적 관계망을 포함한 건강한 라이프스타일을 유도하기 위해, 건강 식단, 매체, 여가, 제품 및 습관에 대한 가치 향상을 중점적으로 다루는 종합적인 프로그램 및 서비스의 필요성을 시사한다.

In this work we have managed to find parameters for defining athlete's aerobic and anaerobic thresholds. Thresholds which are of vital importance for top athletes. It is shown how differential evolution and different similarity measures has been used to tune computational model for threshold definitions. From our results it is obvious that the use of right parameter values for this kind expert system is of vital importance.

This paper presents the optimization steps with weight and importance of estimated characteristic values in the multiresponse surface analysis(MRA). The research introduces the shape parameter of individual desirability function for relaxation and tighening of specification bounds. The study also proposes the combinded desirability function using arithmetic, geometric and harmonic means considering the measurement unit and numerical pattern.
