Modeling and Performance Analysis of Distance-Based Registration Considering Implicit Registration (묵시적 위치등록을 고려한 거리기준 위치등록의 모형화 및 성능 분석)

  • In this study, we consider performance analysis of distance-based registration (DBR). DBR causes a mobile station (MS) to register its location when the distance between the current base station (BS) and the BS in which it last registered exceeds a distance threshold D. In general, DBR has some advantages over the other registration schemes but has a tendency to causes an MS to register more frequently than zone-based registration (ZBR) that is adopted in most of mobile communication systems. The DBR with implicit registration (DBIR) was proposed to improve the performance of DBR. In this study, we point out some problems of the previous analytical model based on continuous time Markov chain and analyze exact performance of the DBIR. We show that the DBIR always outperforms the DBR by using our exact analytical model.

  • Finite element method is a very effective method to simulate the forming processes with good prediction of the deformation behaviour. For the finite element modeling of sheet mental forming the accurate die model is required. Among finite element method, the static-implicit finite element method is applied effectively to analyze real-size auto-body panel stamping processes, which include the forming stage. This study is about analyzing the stamping process problems by using AutoForm commercial software which used static-implicit method. According to this study, the results of simulation will give engineers good information to access the die design of optimization.

  • An algorithm for modeling the filling of metal into a mold and solidification has been developed. This algorithm uses the implicit VOF method for a filling and a general implicit source-based method for solidification. The model for simultaneous filling and solidification is applied to the two-dimensional filling and solidification of a square cavity. The effects of the wall temperature and gate position on the solidification are examined. The mixed natural convection flow and residual flow resulting from the completion of a filling are included in this study to investigate the coupled effects of the filling and natural convection on solidification. Two different filling configurations (assisting flow and opposite flow due to the gate position) are analysed to study the effects of residual flow on solidification. The results clearly show the necessity to carry out a coupled filling and solidification analysis including the effect of natural convection.

  • Present study continues an earlier hydrodynamic modeling of the Han River (Choi and Ann. 1992) by adopting an implicit scheme with branch transformation algorithm to improve computational efficiency. The established model was used to compute steady flow conditions and also to hindcast 1925. 1972. 1984 and 1990 floods. Discussions wert made on related problems and further improvements of the model.

A Production-Based Approach to Travel Choice Modeling (생산기반 가정아래서의 통행선택행위분석)

  • This paper suggested an approach to characterize travel choice behaviors using the implicit price instead of the indirect utility. The choice criterion to compare the implicit prices of available trip options was developed from the utility maximization problem of a trip maker which is supposed to choose the best option from the available ones differentiated by only by the quantitative attributes such as travel cost and time but also by qualitative attributes such as comfort and safety. The utility maximization problem is constructed under household production theory, and is incorporated with a special kind of joint homogeneous production functions. The implicit price of a certain trip option is the sum of the monetary price and the multiple of travel time and the value-of-travel-time, and the value-of-travel-time refers to the portion of wage, which can be assignable to the trip-making activity. This choice criterion is statistically identifiable, and behaviorally plausible. Moreover, this criterion has the expression simpler than the indirect utility, and therefore could be an effective target of the statistical estimation for travel choice behaviors.

An Implicit Method to Analysis Unsteady Flow (부정류의 IMPLICIT 수치해석)

  • In order to make a numerical modeling for the one dimensional unsteady flow which expressed by Saint Venant partial differential equations, Preissmann's implicit scheme was used, and it's stability and accuracy was mentioned. By introducing recurrence relations make it possible to use double sweep algorithm. Effective parameters to the result were the values of the $\Delta$t/$\Delta$x, $\theta$ and the chezy coefficient. In oder to get numerical solutions with enough accuracy, $\Delta$t/$\Delta$x should not be far from the value of 1, and the criteria of the $\theta$ was 0.6<$\theta$<1.0 for the stability without condition. This model should be calibrated by real field data, and expected to be developed for the simulation of the river system and to the long wave analysis for one dimensional coastal zone problem.

  • Embedded joints in the rock mass are a major constituent influencing its mechanical behavior. Numerical analysis requires a rigorous modeling methodology for the rock mass with detailed information regarding joint properties, orientation, spacing, and persistence. This paper provides a mechanical model for a jointed rock mass based on the implicit joint-continuum approach. Stiffness tensors for rock mass are evaluated for an assemblage of intact rock separated by sets of joint planes. It is a linear summation of compliance of each joint sets and intact rock in the serial stiffness system. In the application example, kinematic analysis for a planar failure of rock slope is comparable with empirical daylight envelope and its lateral limits. Since the developed implicit joint-continuity model is formulated on a continuum basis, it will be a major tool for the numerical simulations adopting published plenteous thermal-hydro-chemical experimental results.

  • This paper presents the research on the development of Generic modeling system as a 3D CAD customizing system for the elevator design. This system enables to create a generic model which gives birth to many models. The generic model is expressed as a non-scale model or a standard model in this paper. Using the parametric design techniques, all their relationships are explicitly represented in the tables, not represented in implicit embedded coding. Owing to this method, designers can easily extend the generic model to contain more model families. All parametric relations are stored in relational database. A designer can retrieve various models from a generic model automatically, by using some key input values.

  • 핀-관 열교환기의 효율을 증대시키기 위하여는 열저항을 결정하는 데 있어서 중요한 역할을 하는 공기측 열전달 특성의 향상이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 핀-관 열교환기의 공리측 성능을 해석하기 위해서 3차원 비압축성 Navier-Stokes 코드를 개발하였으며 이 코드는 시간항에 스칼라 내재적 근사분해법(scalar implicit approximate factorization)절차, 공간항에 유한체적법과 2차의 풍상차분법(upwind differencing)을 사용한다. 서로 다른 3개의 핀형상(평판핀, 슬릿핀, 파형핀)을 고려하였고 이들의 유동 및 열전달 특성을 연구하였다.

  • In this paper, self tuning control of interconnected systems are dealt in view point of large scale system control. The plant model is given in MIMO ARMA procss. This process is simlified as independent SISO ARMA processes having offset terma, which are considered as effects of interconnections. In each decentralized system, self tuning controller with instrumental variable method is adopted. As a result, this algorithm enables the paramter estimation to be unbiased and non-drift. This controller contains a new implicit offset rejection technique. Simulation results consider well with the analysis in case of linear interconnection.
