  • In this paper, we implemented the FIPA-OS framework bundle and service agent bundle over the OSGi service platform in home-sewer platform. The FIPA-OS is the first open source implementation of the FIPA standards and is a component-based toolkit implemented in Java. The FIPA-OS bundle is composed of two bundles. One is the communication bundle such as RMI, IIOP, HTTP and ACC. Another is the agent loader bundle. Experiments are conducted on the service agent communication and loading by the agent loader bundle, and the proposed bundles are successfully installed, stopped, and uninstalled over the OSGi service platform.

  • The success of road haulage, in dominating the surface movement of freight, is now threatened by increased traffic congestion, falling average motorway speeds and rising in logistic costs. As a result, Government as well as companies, which use or operate logistics service, is now looking to rail to provide an alternative. First, we surveyed the bottlenecks and desired betterments to rail transport, which were indicated by rail and road transport users. Through the analysis of customers' needs survey. this paper is focused in the basic framework fur the rail freight transport, which could be helped to promote the efficiency associated with moving freight by rail.

  • Although a call for the implementation of PBL in nursing education is getting increased, it has not been actively implemented as it could be. The main reason for this situation seems to be the lack of well designed learning packages. Well designed PBL packages can be the core factor for the successful implementation of PBL. However, this seems to be the hardest task for teachers wanting to implement PBL. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a systematic framework of PBL package development process and provide the examples of its application. This framework of the process of PBL package development includes thirteen steps. First of all, the team needs to decide a topic to be explored in the package and then clusters concepts related to the topic. Second, the team selects a real situation and writes it as a story. Third, knowledge, skills, and attitudes that practitioners need to know to deal with the situation will be explored. Fourth, learning objectives will be written. The next, the team will check if the situation includes multidisciplinary concepts and content. Sixth, the story will be divided into several parts. Seventh, part 1 will be written. Eighth, clinical documents related to part 1 need to be prepared. Ninth, the team will write a suggested approach for students. Then, they need to prepare a tutor's guide for part 1. Eleventh, the team will prepare a list of reading materials and plan for lectures and clinical laboratory sessions. Twelfth, they will write part 2 ~ part N following the steps from the seventh to the eleventh. The last step is evaluating the package and amending it as needed. These thirteen steps are very detailed and easy to follow for beginners. It is expected that this framework will contribute to accelerate the implementation of PBL in nursing education.

  • The environment of IT is, currently, on its developing process to the period of web 2.0 and mashup which not only enable computer and internet to be utilized like the water or the air, but also be a new motivating force for its advance. One of the biggest changes of the industry that lies ahead is consolidated transportation. However, no party outstands as the leading party for nationwide improvement of logistics, nor does the right analysis and design for it. Therefore, successful nationwide logistics model is yet to exist. This study provides individual parties, which consider consolidated transportation model as their implementation and design of the framework, with instructions for logistics information system so that they could be competitive in the market. It also helps companies collect user requirements for logistics information system consolidated transportation, and utilize it for its development. Finally, the study provides a implementation and design of pilot system for consolidated transportation model.

  • Purpose: Once the decision has been made to adopt an integrated medical information system (IMIS), there are a number of issues to overcome. Users need to be aware of the impact the change will make on end users and be prepared to address issues that arise before they become problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits and unexpected problems encountered in the implementation of IMIS and to determine a useful framework for IMIS. Materials and Methods: The Yonsei University Dental Hospital is steadily constructing an IMIS. The vendor's PACS software, Piview STAR, supports transactions between workstations that are approved to integrating the healthcare enterprise (IHE) with security function. It is necessary to develop an excellent framework that is good for the patient, healthcare provider and information system vendors, in an expert, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Results : The problems encountered with IMIS implementation were high initial investments, delay of EMR enforcement, underdevelopment of digital radiographic appliances and software and insufficient educational training for users. Conclusions: The clinical environments of dental IMIS is some different from the medical situation. The best way to overcome these differences is to establish a gold standard of dental IMIS integration, which estimates the cost payback. The IHE and its technical framework are good for the patient, the health care provider and all information systems vendors.

  • Defense M&S software industry has carried out a variety of studies related to an efficient implementation of large-scale simulation and interoperability with respect to each of the system and HLA has been developed to provide a common architecture for distributed simulation of them. HLA defines Federate interface specification and provides services through RTI. Meanwhile, the difficulty lies in developing the software based HLA. Federate developer needs to understand how to handle Metadata produced RTI and has to modify the interface code whenever FDD is modified. This paper presents the implementation method of SOM interface using the code generation technique and middleware architecture for providing simple API. It solves the problem for implementing the framework of distributed object communication by using proposed method.

  • Recently ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) package has been on of important issues in developing information systems in many Korean companies. The main objectives of this study are to analyse the case of implementing ERP system in Samsung Display Devices Co. which is rated to be successful, and to derive significant implications for effective ERP implementation. First, this study focused on showing the detailed roadmap of performing ERP implementation project which largely consists of 5 stages(planning and organizing, visioning. process redesign and mapping, testing and arrangement, and installation and roll-out to overseas subsidiaries), and explaining key activities in each stage. Second, the performance of this project was evaluated on the basis of both process-centered critieria and result-centered ones. Finally, this study intended to discuss and explicate the bottlenecks and the critical success factors in implementing this project. The findings of this case study are thought not only to be useful as a practical guideline in carrying out ERP implementation project but also to provide significant basis for constructing the theoretical framework of effective ERP implementation.

  • The purpose of this study, based on a domestic sample of businesses using EDI systems, is to identify success factors, which affect the implementation of EDI system by Korean business entities. This paper also intends to provide useful guidelines for the establishment and management of EDI systems. This paper, first, develops a conceptual framework based on pervious research to identify factors which affect successful implementation of EDI system. Second, it integrates the constructs from previous research studies into a single survey instrument. Third, it presents the findings regarding the degree to which each factor influences the successful implementation of EDI system. It's revealed in the study that such factors as EDI vendor support, EDI education and training, participation by transactional partners, the size of organization, and the level of decentralization among organizational and environmental characteristics influence successful implementation of EDI systems in Korean business environment.
