  • In this study, we analyzed the motion animation of game characters, which is a visual part of the game elements for 'Hit Impact'. The game selected for analysis focused on the movements of the characters in the arcade game , which is thought to have a weak 'Hit Impact' and looked for the cause. We also analyzed the differences in the motion of the characters in the home transplant version of , which is considered to have improved 'Hit Impact', compared to the arcade version. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the reason for the weak 'Hit Impact' in the arcade version was mainly due to the wrong timing and judgment of hitting and hitting movements, and at the same time, supplemented physical reactions and stun, camera directing, and hitting effects could have a significant impact on improving 'Hit Impact'.

  • Hockey games attracts many fans around the world. This game requires a specific type of ball and a stick for controlling the motion and trace of the ball. This control of motion involves hitting the ball which is a direct intensive dynamic loading. The impact load transferred directly to the hand of the player and in the professional player may cause long term medical problems. Therefore, dynamic motion of the stick should be understood. In the current study, we analyze the dynamic motion of a hockey stick under impact loading from a hockey ball. In doing so, the stick geometry is simplified as a beam structure and quasi-2D relations of displacement is applied along with classical linear elasticity theory for isotropic materials. The governing equations and natural boundary condition are extracted using Hamilton's principle. The final equations in terms of displacement components are solved using Galerkin's numerical method. The results are presented using indentation and contact force values for variations of different parameters.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop protective clothing that could alleviate fall impacts. Fall impact protection pants for elderly women were designed, and motion adaptable hip pads and knee pads printed by 3D printing were integrated into the pants and evaluated. First, the design of the fall impact protection pants with variable motion was semi-loose fitting pants that could be worn and detached from the protective pad. A pad pocket was made in the lining inside the pants so that the protective pad could be fixed to the protective area. Second, in the evaluation of the appearance of the fall impact protection pants, the wearer group had a good score of 4.60 or higher for all questions on color, material, ease, and fit. In the evaluation of the insertion method of the protective pad, the flexibility of the pad, and the weight of the pad, the subjects' scores were 4.30~4.80. The fit of the fall impact protection pants was excellent in the texture and elasticity of the outside and inside of the pants. There was no discomfort due to the pad(4.60), and no difficulty in movement during wearing activities was reported. During squatting, it was evaluated as 4.80, indicating that the motion adaptable hip joint and knee pads were highly effective during operation.

  • When a liquid cargo tank is partially filled with fluid, internal impact loads can be occurred from the vessel's motions. In this study, liquid sloshing problems with a thin top layer of particles with a lighter density than water and the coupling effects of the liquid-sloshing/vessel-motion were investigated in order to reduce the sloshing-induced impact loads. The PNU-MPS (Pusan-National-University-modified Moving Particle Simulation) method for solving the liquid motion inside a tank and the CHARM3D BEM (Boundary Element Method) based time-domain ship motion analysis program for vessel-motion simulation were coupled. From the simulation results, we could see that the floaters seemed to be quite effective at reducing the sloshing impact loads in the case of tank-only sloshing problems, but not as much for the coupling problem with vessel motion.

  • A sensorless motion planner which succeeds in grasping a polygonal part firmly into a desired orientation has been developed through the dynamic analysis. The analytical results on the impact process with friction are used for modeling the contact motionduring the parallel-jaw grasp operation, which is com- posed of the pushing and the squeezing process. The developed planner succeeds in grasping a part into a specified orientation in the face of uncertainties of initial position and orientation of the part, motion direction of the finger, and the physical parameters such as the coefficients of friction and restitution. The motion planner has been fully implemented into a viable package on the computer system, and verified experimentally. The motion of parts is recorded using a high-speed video camera, and then compared to the results of the planner and the graphic simulation results that illustrate the simulated motion of the grasp operation.

  • The impact force on the single and overlap region of twin spray was experimentally evaluated using visualization method in full cone type swirl nozzle spray. Visualization of spray was conducted to obtain the spray angle and breakup process. The photography/imaging technique, based on Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) using high-speed camera, was adopted for the direct observation of droplet motion and axial velocity measurement, respectively. Droplet size was measured by Particle Motion Analyze System (PMAS). The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental information of spray characteristics, such as impact force, for higher etching factor in the practical wet etching system. It was found that the spray angle, axial velocity and impact force were increased with increasing the nozzle pressure while droplet size decreased with increasing the nozzle pressure. Droplet size increased as the distance from nozzle tip was decreased. The impact force of twin spray in the overlap region was about 63.29, 67.02, 52.41% higher than that of single spray at 40, 50 and 60 mm of nozzle pitch, respectively. Also, the nozzle pitch was one of the important factors in the twin spray characteristics.

  • This paper represents a ultra precision rotational device where the smooth impact drive mechanism(SIDM) is utilized as a driving mechanism. Linear motions of piezoelectric elements are converted to the rotational motion of disk by frictional forces generated between the rotational disk and the friction bars which are attached to the piezoelectric elements. This device was designed to drive a rotational disk using slip-slip motion mechanism based on stick-slip motion mechanism. Experimental results show that the angular velocity was increased in proportion to the magnitude of supplied voltage to piezoelectric element. In our device, the smooth rotational motion was obtained when the driving frequency has been reached to 500Hz under the driving voltage of 100V. The amount of step movement has been revealed to be $3.44{\times}10^{-4}$ radian.

  • Previous studies of kinematic analysis of golf swing usually dealt with variations vertically. The purpose of the study was to examine the horizontal hip joints motion of the fifteen male professional golfers during driver swinging. Kinematic variables were calculated by the Kwon3D motion analysis program. Paired t-tests and one-way ANOVA were used to compare the hip height, distance, displacement, and position differences. Results showed that there were no hip height changes and no hip height differences between left and right hip from address to impact. The axis of the backswing was braced right hip, the axis of the downswing was moving left hip. Hips position at the top of the backswing showed that hips move to target prior to hands, which means the sequential motion of the chain linked body segments. From address to impact, left hip moving distance was longer than right hip(p<.001), but during the whole swing, right hip moving distance was longer than left hip(p<.001). Hip rotation angle to target line was $-48.14{\pm}9.32^{\circ}$ at top of the backswing, $40.88{\pm}8.44^{\circ}$ at impact, and $104.70{\pm}8.14^{\circ}$ at finish.
