Heavy-weight floor impact noise is directly related to the impact source and floor vibration property. Dynamic properties of the standard floating floor that is used in Korea was investigated using accelerance, acceleration energy spectral density(ESD), and structural modal test. In the standard floating floor, natural frequency was decreased by the finishing mortar mass and the damping ratio was increased. Bang-machine force spectrum acting on the concrete slab can be calculated using inverse system analysis. Impact force acting on concrete slab is changed by interaction of finishing mortar and resilient material. The amplitude of the bang-machine force spectrum was amplified in low frequency range(below 100 Hz), and over 100 Hz was decreased. Changed force spectrum influence to the response of structure vibration, so the heavy-weight floor impact noise level was changed.

NHTSA has been conducting biomechanical studies to reduce inujuries sustained sustained during automotive collision. Furthermore, NHTSA added the regulation to the FMVSS 201, limiting the equivalent HIC(Head Injury Criterion) value under 1000. In the presont work, a methodology was developed for the optimum design of the A-pillar trim with rib-structures. The design variables for the rib-strucrures were the transverse spacing, the longitudinal spacing, and the thickness. The required sets of the design varibles were decided based on the design of experiments. The head impact simulations were carried out using the LS-DYNA3D, and the HIC(d) values were computed using the resulrs of the head impact simulation. The objective function was constructed using the response surface methed (RSM). When the obtained optimum values were not inside the region of interest, the design proceduers were repeated by changing the region of interest. Finally, an A-pillar trim with rib-structures, which resulred in HIC(d) value under 850 for 15 mph head-trim impact, was developed.
This article deals with the reconstruction of an impact force. This requires to take measurements from the impacted structures and then to deconvolve those signals from the impulse response function. More precisely, the purpose of the work described here is to analyse the method of deconvolution and the problems that it implies. Thus, it is highlighted that the associated deconvolution problem depends on the location of the measurement points: it is possible or not to reconstruct the force of impact in function of the location of this point. Then, the role of the antiresonances is linked up with this problem. The singular value decomposition is used to understand these difficulties. Numerical predictions are compared and validated with experiments.
Purpose - We investigate the relationship between economic policy uncertainty (EPU) of the US and China and housing distribution economy in Korea using EPU indexes of two countries and the economic indicators in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - We use the data such as the Korean housing price stability index (HPSI), housing purchase price index (HPPI), housing lease price index (HLPI), banking stock index (BSI), and consumer price index (CPI) with EPU indexes from January 1999 to December 2017. As an empirical methodology, we select the vector error correction model (VECM) due to the existence of cointegration. Result - As results of the impulse response function, the impact of the US EPU index has initially a negative response on the Korean HPSI, HPPI, and HLPI referring the housing distribution market including the economic variables, BSI, and CPI. Likewise, the impact of index in China has initially a negative response on economic indicators except the BSI in Korea. Conclusions - This study shows that the EPU index of the US has significantly negative relationships on all economic indicators in Korea. In this study, we reveal EPU of the US and China has dynamic impact on housing distribution economy returns in Korea.

Purpose : This study aimed to present normative data for older Korean adults completing the Yonsei dual task cognitive screening test (Y-DuCog) and identify changes in cognitive function on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment - Korean (MoCA-K) with age. Methods : From May 2019 to August 2019, 195 healthy adults aged ≥60 years participated in this study. All participants completed the Y-DuCog to assess their dual-task performance and the MoCA-K to assess their cognitive function. Participants were divided into three groups based on their age: 60~69 years, 70~79 years, and ≥80 years. Results : The results of the Y-DuCog showed that dual-task performance time, effect, and correct response rate decreased significantly with age (p<.001). Scores from the three groups showed differences on all items (p<.001). Cognitive function on the MoCA-K also decreased significantly with age (mean score ± standard deviation [SD]; 27.33 ± 2.61 in subjects aged 60~69 years; 24.82 ± 3.20 in subjects aged 70~79 years; and 22.10 ± 4.91 in subjects aged ≥80 years; p<.001). Conclusions : Occupational therapists should be aware of the decline in cognitive function and dual-task performance time, effect, and correct response rate in older adults and consider interventions to treat this decline. Further studies are needed with larger groups of participants to examine factors, such as sex and education, that may impact dual-task performance and cognitive function.
The prediction of vibration response of floor is necessary in order to check whether the floor vibration level will satisfy the allowable vibration standard of precise machinery such as electronic microscopes in semiconductor manufacturing plant before the installation of various neighboring equipment facility. In conventional vibration isolation, we were mainly interested in minimization of vibration transmissibility and stabilization of vibration isolation system. But in order to predict vibration response of floor, it is necessary to know exciting force of equipment installed on the floor and the mobility of the floor. We measured the exciting force of the dropped mass assumed as equipment and the mobility of some practical building floor using large impact hammer. And from this we predicted the vibration response of floor on which the mass dropped. This predicted vibration response of floor is compared with measured vibration response. Through upper procedure, we examined the possibility of predicting vibration response of floor from the information of exciting force of equipment and the mobility of floor.

ARES plot (Cook and Weisberg, 1987) idea is applied to a multiple regression model in which the relation between a response variable and some independent variable is nonlinear. This method is expected to show the impact on the function to which and independent variable should be transformed, as a variable is smoothly added to the model.

Objective: Coenzyme (CoQ10) is an enzymatic co factor used in normal cellular metabolism. Recent evidence shows that in people with heart disease it can reverse endothelial cell damage in the blood vessels. It is also a potent antioxidant. Design: One group pretest-posttest design. Methods: In the present study, endothelial function was evaluated using the response to occlusion and heat before and 2 weeks after administration of CoQ10, 300 mg/day. Thirty Eight subjects, who are physical therapy students, participated in a series of experiments to see if taking 300 mg of CoQ10 daily for 2 weeks would impact resting blood flow in the forearm skin and the blood flow response to 4 minutes of vascular occlusion and the response to local heat ($42^{\circ}C$) for 6 minutes. Results: The results showed that, for this population, there was no difference in the response to heat. However, the response to occlusion was improved after administration of CoQ10. Conclusions: It would appear that in a young population CoQ10 has no effect on the nitric oxide vasodilator pathway in skin but does influence other vasodilator pathways.

Prior to installation in a navy ship, shipboard equipment should be qualified by shock test requirements. The multi-function console mounted on the elastic platform of the ship should also withstand given shock loads. In this study, both real shock test methods, as well as numerical computer simulations using the finite element method were used to verify structural durability under shock load conditions. First, we used domestic test facilities to perform possible shock tests, including an impact hammer test, a drop table test and a shaker shock test. Full model tests satisfying the shock response spectrum level were performed. Thereafter, an analytical model of the complex console structure was built by the finite element method. Finally, numerical results were verified by modal test results of the real product and an FEA analysis was also performed with a full model transient response analysis.
This study analyses the seismic response of a three-dimensional (3-D) rigid massless square foundation resting or embedded in a viscoelastic soil limited by rigid bedrock. The foundation is subjected to harmonic oblique seismic waves P, SV, SH and R. The key step is the characterization of the soil-foundation interaction by computing the impedance matrix and the input motion matrix. A 3-D frequency boundary element method (BEM) in conjunction with the thin layer method (TLM) is adapted for the seismic analysis of the foundation. The dynamic response of the rigid foundation is solved from the wave equations by taking into account the soil-foundation interaction. The solution is formulated using the frequency BEM with the Green's function obtained from the TLM. This approach has been applied to analyze the effect of soilstructure interaction on the seismic response of the foundation as a function of the kind of incident waves, the angles of incident waves, the wave's frequencies and the embedding of foundation. The parametric results show that the non-vertical incident waves, the embedment of foundation, and the wave's frequencies have important impact on the dynamic response of rigid foundations.
