복합재료 Body Panel의 특성평가 (Characteristics of Composite Body Panel)

  • A research fur development of composite body panel is in progress for lightening tare. In this study, experiments on estimation of mechanical properties of LPMC (Low pressure molding compound) including fatigue and impact characteristics were carried out. The experiments show that LPMC satisfied basic requirements of car body panel. The fatigue life of LPMC was predicted and the material degradation due to fatigue and impact were fined out.

  • This investigation evaluates dynamic fracture characteristics of two alloy steels (STD-11 and STS-3 and a gray cast iron (GG-30). The dynamic crack initiation fracture toughness and some of the dynamic fracturing characteristics were evaluated by using the instrumented Charpy impact testing procedures. It was found from experimental results that inertia force strongly depends on impact velocity. The duration of inertia force was constant regardless of impact velocities in steel specimens.

환경영향평가서 영향예측에 대한 연구 (A study on the impact prediction in environmental impact statement)

  • The purpose of this paper was to analyze the content of impact prediction in EISS, in order to find the degree of the acuracy of impact prediction . 30 EISS were selected as analysis objects through variance miximization strategy. Content analysis of the selected EISS was performed by 5 analysis items, such as quantification of measurement, range of impact area, time frame of impact, likelihood of impact, and explict characterization of impact significance. The results showed that the accuracy investigated by the 5 items was very low. In conclusion, 5 suggestions were proposed in order to improve the credibility of EIS as a scientific report. The 5 suggestions were : 1) impact prediction should be described by quantitative measurement; 2) In establishing the time frame of the impact and the referent populatioin influenced by the impact, the characteristics of the proposed action should be carefully considerd; 3) the significance of the predicted impact should be quantitatively described; 4) specific description should also be used in the likelihood or the probability of the predicted impact in a real world; 5) equal emphasis should be put on the three environment, including natural and social as well as living environment.

  • In this research, we investigated the frequency characteristic of low-velocity impact induced damage signals on graphite/epoxy composite laminates using high-speed fiber Bragg grating(FBG) sensor system. Appling the FBG sensors to damage assessment, we need to study the response of FBG sensors as the damage signals of the different incident angles because FBG shows different directional sensitivity. In order to discriminate an impact induced damage signal from that of undamaged case, drop impacts with different energies were applied to the composite panel with different incident angle to the FBG sensor. Finally, detected impact signals were compared using frequency distributions of wavelet detail components in order to find distinctive signal characteristics of composites delamination.

  • The mechanical characteristics of AC4C Aluminum Casting Alloy were investigated by tensile test and impact test. Based on the tensile test' s result, we found that the yield strength of a high speed was about 10% higher than that of a low speed test and the maximum rupture strain mostly occurred in low speed tensile test. The impact energy of curved surface specimen was higher than that of plane surface specimen that can be measured in impact test.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the collapse characteristics of widely used spot welded section members (hat and double hat section, nembers of vehicles) which possess the greatest energy absorbing capacity In an axial impact collapse. This study also suggests how the collapse load and deformation mode are obtained under impact. In the program system presented in this study, an explicit finite element code, LS-DY7A3D, is adopted for simulating complicated collapse behavior of the hat and double hat shaped section members with respect to section dimensions and spot weld pitches. Comparing the results with experiments, the simulation has been verified under a velocity of 7.19 m/sec (impact energy of 1034J)

  • Recently, composite material which has much excellent mechanical characteristics has been applied in many industries. However, it has a brittle characteristic under impact event. Especially, its invisible characteristics of the damaged area has been the motivation of many engineers investigation, and the nonlinearity of the impact mechanism is one of the main reason to assume the damaged area too simple. The damage mechanism of the composite laminated plate subjected to low velocity impact using ABAQUS/Standard & user subroutine was presented here.

  • Recently, composite material which has much excellent mechanical characteristics has been applied in many industries. However, it has a brittle characteristic under impact condition and its invisible characteristics of the damaged area has been the motivation of many engineers investigation. The modified failure criterion is implemented to predict the failure behavior of the composite plate subjected to low velocity impact using commercial finite element analysis code, ABAQUS-Ver. 5.8. The new criterion is in good agreement with experimental results and can predict the failure behavior of the composite plate subjected to low velocity impact more accurately.

  • 잠수함용 재료로 개발된 고강도 구조용강의 충격 시험이 수행되었다. 특히 샤르피 충격시험기를 이용하여 저온에서 구조용 강의 충격특성을 평가하였다. 최소흡수에너지, 최대흡수에너지, 연성 취성 천이온도를 결정하기 위하여 hyperbolic tangent curve fitting법을 이용하였다. 시험결과로부터 샤르피 충격에너지와 횡팽창량 사이의 비례 관계식을 산출하였다. 시험온도 변화에 따른 파단면 특성을 평가하기 위하여 SEM을 이용하여 파단면을 관찰하였다.

  • The impact ionization MOS (I-MOS) transistor with 50nm channel length is presented by using 2-D device simulator ISE-TCAD. The subthreshold slope cannot be steeper than kT/q since the subthreshold conduction is due to diffusion current. As MOSFETs are scaled down, this problem becomes significant and the subthreshold slope degrades which leads an increase in the off-current and off-state power dissipation. The I-MOS is based on a gated p-i-n structure and the subthreshold conduction is induced by impact ionization. The simulation results show that the subthreshold slope is 11.7 mV/dec and this indicates the I-MOS improves the switching speed and off-state characteristics.
