House ownership is considered as one of the important pre-conditions for marriage in China. Given that gender imbalance is a prominent issue in the country, competition for marriage partners might motivate males to look for a house and probably bigger and more expensive house. This is believed to have caused house price hikes in recent years. This study aims to investigate the impact of gender imbalance on house prices using data from 30 provinces in China for the 2000-2017 period. The results based on the generalized method of moments (GMM) estimations show that house price is strongly influenced by gender imbalance. However, there is no evidence to support differential effects across eastern and mid-western regions. One potential reason is that pre-marriage house ownership has become a common culture for the whole community and therefore it does not vary significantly across regions. There are several important policy implications. Firstly, the issues should be addressed by the policymakers at national level and not regional level. Secondly, the government should intervene to bring back gender ratio to its normal level. Finally, the government should limit the number of houses people can buy and increase the supply of houses in the market.

Paralytic ileus is a metabolic state in which the intestines fail to transmit peristalsis due to failure of the neuromuscular mechanism in the small intestines and colon. It is a major cause of morbidity in hospitalized patients especially during late presentations and points of mismanagement. The causes include infections, electrolyte imbalance (hypokalemia, hyponatremia), surgeries and medications. When the exact cause of the disease condition is identified and corrected, paralytic ileus is usually resolved. This case report is that of a 16 year old female who was admitted and managed as a case of paralytic ileus. The patient presented with symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, vomiting and inability to pass stool or flatus. There was associated body weakness, reduced urine output and weight loss. She was properly examined clinically and sent for various investigations. Investigations such plain abdominal X-Ray, serum electrolyte estimation, chest X-Ray and full blood count were carried out. The results of the investigations done were in keeping with the diagnosis of paralytic ileus, electrolyte imbalance and ongoing sepsis. She was subsequently managed through nil per oral, adequate fluid rehydration, antibiotics and correction of electrolyte imbalance. Following stable clinical state and investigation results, she was discharged and advised on follow-up.
Immunological imbalance eventually results in the development of various diseases. A typical example is an imbalance of cytokines with immunomodulatory abilities. In this paper, we propose a two-variable delay model to anti-pro-inflammatory cytokine therapy for autoimmune diseases, which are caused by an imbalance between the pro and anti-inflammatory cytokines. The interaction between pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines were modeled mathematically to investigate the relevance of cytokines in disease processes. The delay time was estimated to maintain the stability of a biologically important steady state. In particular, the effects of delay with anti-pro-inflammatory cytokines therapy in autoinflammatory diseases were studied.

This paper presents a low-loss broadband balun that uses a coplanar waveguide-to-slotline field transformation. It operates over a very wide frequency range and is of compact size since it does not depend on a resonant structure. To analyse imbalance, the coplanar wavelength(CPW) input ground is connected to the CPW output ground through various capacitors to introduce common-mode impedances. As the common-mode impedance increased the imbalance became significantly higher at the higher-frequency band compared with the lower-frequency band. The bias-circuit approach is used to improve the operation bandwidth of the lower-frequency band. The measured results show a passband of 200 MHz to 2 GHz, an insertion loss of less than 0.75 dB, and a size of $20{\times}14\;mm$. The amplitude imbalance is approximately 0.3 dB and the phase imbalance is less than $6^{\circ}$ over the entire operational range.
Aspect of filling imbalance that is originated from imbalanced share rate in runner is changed by material property, runner layout that are factors of changing viscosity and by injection pressure, injection speed, melt temperature and mold temperature that are injection conditions. In this paper, we made a study of runner system that is one of factor of filling imbalance and Sharp Conner Effect and Groove Corner Effect that are recently released. The study are showed that filling rate of between inside and outside cavity was influenced on shape of runner. Also, we suggested runner system for filling imbalance by adapting the two effects at multi cavity of unary branch type and theoretical investigated flow in the Shrap Conner runner type.

Despite geometrical balanced runner system, filling imbalances between cavity to cavity have always been observed in multi-cavity injection mold. These filling imbalances are results from non-symmetrical shear rate distribution within melt as it flows through the runner system. It has been possible to decrease filling imbalance by optimizing processing conditions, but it has not completely eliminated this phenomenon during the injection molding processing. This paper presents a solution of these filling imbalances by using runner core pin which creates a symmetrical shear distribution within runner and the effects on filling imbalance when modifying a shape of runner core pin. As a result of using runner core pin, a remarkable improvement in reducing filling imbalance was confirmed. In addition we investigated how filling imbalances were affected by shape of runner core pin.
This paper investigates the source of bilateral trade imbalance at industry level. We build a simple model based on gravity theory and derive the prediction that the bilateral trade balance in an industry is increasing in the difference between trading partners in the output share of the industry. We test this prediction and find that the difference in industry share is highly significant in predicting both the sign and the magnitude of trade balance at industry level. We also find that FTAs tend to enlarge trade imbalance at industry level. However, the overall predictive power of the model is rather limited, suggesting that factors other than production specialization are important in determining trade balance at industry level. Another finding of the paper is that the influence of the difference in industry share on trade balance increases as we move to industries that produce more homogeneous products. This finding calls into question monopolistic competition as the main driver of gravity in international trade.

Injection molding is the one of the most important processes for mass production of plastic parts. Usually Injection molds for mass production are constituted to multi-cavity runner system to manufacture the more parts at a time. To uniformly fill to each cavity, multi-cavity molds are designed to geometrically balanced runner system. However. in practice this is not the case. The previous studies by Beaumount at.[2] reported that filling imbalance occurred by thermal unbalance on the mold and viscosity variation of resins and so on. In this study, we conducted experiments in order to know the causes or filling imbalance for 3 plate type mold with 8 cavities. We presented a new so called 4BF mold(4plate Type Balanced Filling Mold) to improve filling balance. We conducted a experimental injection molding to verify a efficiency of the 4BF mold. In the results of the experiment, We could confirmed the possibility of the 4BF mold.

This paper evaluates forty different dispatching rules with respect to twenty different performance measures of job shop scheduling under seven levels of workload imbalance. Computer simulation is used as a tool to determine rankings of the dispatching rules for a given workload imbalance. The experiments results show rankings of dispatching rules are different in the job shop with unbalanced machine workloads. As variations of workload imbalance increase from 7% to 78%, the performance of dispatching rules is gradually deteriorated in measure related to completion time and due date. These results guide scheduling practitioners not only to choosing dispatching rules but also to developing the model of facility investment for workload balance, when there are different levels of workload imbalance.

For mass production, usually injection mold has multi-cavity which is filled through geometrical balanced runner system. Despite geometrical balanced runner system, filling imbalances between cavity to cavity have always been observed. These filling imbalances are one of the most significant factors to affect quality of plastic parts when molding plastic parts in multi-cavity injection mold. Filling imbalances are results from non-symmetrical shear rate distribution within melt as it flows through the runner system. It has been possible to decrease filling imbalance by optimizing processing conditions, but it has not completely eliminated this phenomenon during injection molding processing. This paper presents a solution of these filling imbalances through using 'runner core pin'. The runner core pin which is developed in this study creates a symmetrical shear distribution within runner. As a result of using runner core pin, a remarkable improvement in reducing filling imbalance was confirmed.
