Subjective Imaging Effect Assessment for Intelligent Imaging Terminal Design: a Method for Engineering Site

  • A kind of Subjective Imaging Effect Assessment (SIEA) method and its applications on intelligent imaging terminal design in engineering site are presented. First, some visual assessment indices are used to characterize the imaging effect: the image brightness, the image brightness uniformity, the color image contrast, the image edge blur, the image color difference, the image saturation, the image noise, and the integrated imaging effect index. A linear weighted function is employed to carry out the SIEA computation and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique is used to estimate its weights. Second, a SIEA software is developed. It can play images after the settings of assessment index or assessment reaction time, etc. Third, two cases are used to illustrate the application effects of proposed method: the image enhancement system design for surveillance camera and the imaging environment perception system design for intelligent lighting terminal. A Prior Sequential Stimulus (PSS) experiment is proposed to improve the evaluation stability of SIEA method. Many experiment results have shown the proposed method can realize a stable system design or parameters setting for the intelligent imaging terminal in engineering site.

Design and Experimental Demonstration of Coaxially Folded All-reflective Imaging System

  • With slimmer, lighter and all-reflective imaging systems in high demand for consumer and military applications, coaxially folded optical image systems are widely considered because they can extend focal length and reduce track length. Most of these systems consist of multiple surfaces, and these surfaces are machined on one element or grouping processing on two elements. In this paper, we report and first experimentally demonstrate an all-aluminum all-reflective optical system which consists of two optical elements, with two high order aspherical surfaces in each element. The coaxially folded system is designed with Seidel aberration theory and advanced optimization with Zemax. The system is made of all-aluminum material processing by single point diamond turning (SPDT). On this basis, we completed the system integration and performed an imaging experiment. The final system has the advantages of short track length and long focal length and broad application prospects in the micro-unmanned aerial vehicle field.

분자영상의 윤리 및 규제 (Ethical and Regulatory Problems of Molecular Imaging)

  • As a molecular imaging is the most up-to-date technology in Nuclear Medicine, it has complicate ethical and regulatory problems. For animal experiment, we have to follow institutional animal care committee. for clinical experiment, we have to get approval of Institutional Review Board according to Helsinki declaration. In addition, approval from Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) is essential for manufacturing and commercialization. However, too much regulation would suppress development of new technology, which would result in the loss of national competitive power. In addition, most new radioactive ligands for molecular imaging are administered to human at sub-pharmacological and sub-toxicological level. In conclusion, a balanced regulation is essential for the safety of clinical application and development of new technology.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel computational integral imaging reconstruction (CIIR) method using round-type mapping model. Proposed CIIP method can overcome problems of non-uniformly reconstructed images caused from the conventional method and improve the resoulution of 3-D images. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, both computational experiment and optical experiment are carried out and their results are presented.

원격응급시스템의 방사선 영상장치 구현 (An Implementation of Radiologic Imaging Device of Remote Emergency Medical System)

  • 구급차에 장착하거나 사고 현장에서 사용할 수 있는 방사선 영상장치를 구현하였다. DC 12[V] 입력 전원에서 X-ray 튜브를 통해서 X-ray를 발생하는 장치를 구성한 후 오실로스코프를 활용하여 특성 실험을 하였다. 그리고 발생된 X-ray에 대해 디지털 디텍터를 이용하여 파일 형태로 저장하는 실험을 하였다. X-ray를 발생시킨 후 디지털 디텍터로 검출한 결과, 파일 크기가 1.67[MB]이고, jpg 형태로 이루어진 방사선정보를 저장할 수 있었다. 구현된 방사선 영상장치는 환자가 의사로부터 공간적으로 멀리 떨어져 있어 시간적으로 진단과 치료가 동시에 이루어지기 어려운 상황에 효율적으로 대처할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 따라서 구현된 방사선 영상장치는 긴박한 상황이 발생한 사고 현장이나 이동 중인 구급차 내에서 X-ray 촬영을 함으로써, 환자의 X-선 정보를 응급의료 센터의 의사에게 전달하고 의사의 처방을 받을 수 있는 의료 선진화를 구현하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper proposes a algorithm that generate the intermediate scene from the stereo image. This system based on mesh representation method, and segmented objects which ar calculated from triangles the pro proposed algorithm is composed of two steps. One is triangle grouping using gestalt theory, and the other is disparity estimation using average disparity of segmented object. We make an experiment on the proposed algorithm with some stereo images and obtain good quality disparity map for intermediate scenes.

  • This paper is to suggest a concept design of the permanent magnet type magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device based on the parameter optimization method. Pulse currents in the gradient coils will introduce the effect of eddy currents in the ferromagnetic material, which will worsen the quality of imaging. In order to equalize the magnetic flux in the MRI device for good imaging, the eddy current effect in the ferromagnetic material must be taken into account. This study attempts to use the design of experiment (DOE) and the response surface method (RSM) for equalizing the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet type MRI device using that the magnetic flux can be calculated directly using a commercial finite element analysis package. As a result, optimal shapes of the pole and the yoke of the PM type MRI device can be obtained. The commercial package, ANSYS, is used for analyzing the magnetic field problem and obtaining the resultant magnetic flux.

Construction of a Ginsenoside Content-predicting Model based on Hyperspectral Imaging

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to construct a saponin content-predicting model using shortwave infrared imaging spectroscopy. Methods: The experiment used a shortwave imaging spectrometer and ENVI spectral acquisition software sampling a spectrum of 910 nm-2500 nm. The corresponding preprocessing and mathematical modeling analysis was performed by Unscrambler 9.7 software to establish a ginsenoside nondestructive spectral testing prediction model. Results: The optimal preprocessing method was determined to be a standard normal variable transformation combined with the second-order differential method. The coefficient of determination, $R^2$, of the mathematical model established by the partial least squares method was found to be 0.9999, while the root mean squared error of prediction, RMSEP, was found to be 0.0043, and root mean squared error of calibration, RMSEC, was 0.0041. The residuals of the majority of the samples used for the prediction were between ${\pm}1$. Conclusion: The experiment showed that the predicted model featured a high correlation with real values and a good prediction result, such that this technique can be appropriately applied for the nondestructive testing of ginseng quality.

나노초 레이져를 이용한 광-초음파 이미지 결상법 (In vivo functional photoacoustic imaging)

  • Functional photoacoustic tomography is a new non-invasive imaging modality, and it is emerging as a very practical method for imaging biological tissue structures by means of laser-induced ultrasound. Structures with high optical absorption, such as blood vessels, can be imaged with the spatial resolution of ultrasound, which is not limited by the strong light scattering in biological tissues. By varying wavelengths of the laser light and acquiring photoacoustic images, optical absorption spectrum of each image pixel is found. Since the biochemical constituents of tissues determine the spectrum, useful functional information like oxygen saturation ($SO_2$) and total haemoglobin concentration (HbT) can be extracted. In this study, as a proof-of-principle experiment, hypoxic brain tumor vasculature and traumatic brain injury (TBI) of small animal brain are imaged with functional photoacoustic tomography. High resolution brain vasculature images of oxygen saturation and total hemoglobin concentration are provided to visualize hypoxic tumor vasculature, and hemorrhage on the cortex surface by the TBI.

  • This paper presents the method for analyzing surface temperature of Electric incoming Apparatus. For the experiment, the surface temperature of electric power apparatus was measured and analyzed by using a infrared thermal imaging system. Surface Discharges(SD) have very complex characteristics of discharge patterns, therefore it requires the development of precise analysis methods. recently, studies on infrared thermal imaging system are carried out to analyze temperature distribution of power equipments through condition diagnosis and to diagnose the degradation of power equipments. The changes in suface temperature was measured by using the infrared thermal imaging system under hot line condition. The system was set up based on the diagnostic method of the electric incoming apparatus.
