Spatial objects in the space II odd hale been changed bl eitber non-spiltial operations or spatial operations. For example, their states arc changed by the following operation: changing their owners, changing their owner's address, installing new constructions, changing precincts, splitting, and merging, The conventional geographic information system(GIS), however, did not also manage their histoncal information cecause it handles the snapshot image of spatial ohjects in the world. In this paper we therelore propose a spatiotemporal data model which is ahle to not un]y manage the historical information of spatial objects but also, support their historical intemlgation by extending a time dimension and a historical pointer for SDE(Spatial Database Engine) spatial data model. Finally, the proposed spatiotemporal data model using a layered time extension are going to contribute to manage the history of spatial objects in the world and retrieve them.
In this paper, we present a non-static color histogram method to retrieve clothing images that are similar to a query clothing. Given clothing area, our method automatically extracts major colors by using the octree-based quantization approach[16]. Then, a color palette that is composed of the major colors is generated. The feature of each clothing, which can be either a query or a database clothing image, is represented as a color histogram based on its color palette. We define the match color bins between two possibly different color palettes, and unify the color palettes by merging or deleting some color bins if necessary. The similarity between two histograms is measured by using the weighted Euclidean distance between the match color bins, where the weight is derived from the frequency of each bin. We compare our method with previous histogram matching methods through experiments. Compared to HSV cumulative histogram-based approach, our method improves the retrieval precision by 13.7 % with less number of color bins.
The cloud amount, one of the basic parameter in atmospheric observation, have been observed by naked eyes of observers, which is affected by the subjective view. In order to ensure reliable and objective observation, a new algorithm to retrieve cloud amount was constructed using true color images composed of red, green and blue (RGB). The true color image is obtained by the Skyview, an all-sky imager taking pictures of sky, at the Science Building of Yonsei University, Seoul for a year in 2006. The principle of distinguishing clear sky from cloudy sky lies in the fact that the spectral characteristics of light scattering is different for air molecules and cloud. The result of Skyview's algorithm showed about 77% agreement between the observed cloud amount and the calculated, for the error range, the difference between calculated and observed cloudiness, within ${\pm}2$. Seasonally, the best accuracy of about 83% was obtained within ${\pm}2$ range in summer when the cloud amounts are higher, thus better signal-to-noise ratio. Furthermore, as the sky turbidity increased, the error also increased because of increased scattering which can explain the large error in spring. The algorithm still need to be improved in classifying sky condition more systematically with other complimentary instruments to discriminate thin cloud from haze to reduce errors in detecting clouds.
Recent years, as a rapid development of multimedia technology, video database system to retrieve video data efficiently seems to core technology in the oriented society. This thesis describes an efficient automatic frame detection and location method for content based retrieval of video. Frame extraction part is consist of incoming / outgoing car frame extraction and car number frame extraction stage. We gain star/end time of car video also car number frames. Frames are selected at fixed time interval from video and key frames are selected by color scale histogram and edge operation method. Car frame recognized can be searched by content based retrieval method.
Current computer technologies developing. our requirements are changing from simple alpha-numeric processing to graphic and image. spatial data processing which are easy for user to understand and use. Geographic information system is a kind of spatial database system that can not only print out the data in the form of maps but also manipulate. store. retrieve. and analyze the geographic data. It is efficient system that can process the spatial data which has a geographical feature and its relative attribute data. Conventional relational database management systems are not suitable for spatial data processing, so we need to design the spatial database mana-gement system which is suitable for efficient spatial data processing. In this paper we design the extended storage management system that supports the spatial index technique that allows user to access fast and store and manage the enormous spatial data efficiently like geographic information system.

The objective of this research is to develop a new module which can reuse XML data by modifying the property of satellite images through the client's GUI at remote site. In order to implement this functionality, we used DOM interface which increases the efficiency of accessing the document structure, and loaded the developed GUI that could resort, retrieve and manage the satellite image list as converted XML data. The system was applied to the management system of satellite images in the Research Institute of SFC at Keio University which results in the confirmation of the technical functionalities.
Rice is one of the most important crop in the world and is a major export of Thailand. Optical sensors are not useful for rice monitoring, because most cultivated areas are often obscured by cloud during the growing period, especially in South East Asia. Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) such as RADARSAT, can see through regardless of weather condition which make it possible to monitor rice growth and to retrieve rice acreage, using the unique temporal signature of rice fields. This paper presents the result of a study of examining the backscatter behavior of rice using multi-temporal RADARSAT dataset. Ground measurements of paddy parameters and water and soil condition were collected. The ground truth information was also used to identify mature rice crops, orchard, road, residence, and aquaculture ponds. Land use class distributions from the RADARSAT image were analyzed. Comparison of the mean DB of each land use class indicated significant differences. Schematic representation of temporal backscatter of rice crop were plotted. Based on the study carried out in Pathum Thani Province test site, the results showed variation of sigma naught from first tillering vegatative phase until ripenning phase. It is suggested that at least, three radar data acquisitions taken at 3 stages of rice growth circle namely; those are at the beginning of rice growth when the field is still covered with water, in the ear differentiation period, and at the beginning of the harvest season, are required for rice monitoring. This pilot project was an experimental one aiming at future operational rice monitoring and potential yield predicttion.
Social network service (SNS) related data including comments/text, images, videos, blogs, and user experiences contain a wealth of information which can be used to build recommendation systems for various clients' and provide insightful data/results to business analysts. Multimedia data, especially visual data like image and videos are the richest source of SNS data which can reflect particular region, and cultures values/interests, form a gigantic portion of the overall data. Mining such huge amounts of data for extracting actionable intelligence require efficient and smart data analysis methods. The purpose of this paper is to focus on this particular modality for devising ways to model, index, and retrieve data as and when desired.

In recent years, the growing popularity of dogs due to the benefits they bring their owners has contributed to the increase of the number of dogs raised. For owners, it is their responsibility to ensure their dogs' health and safety. However, it is challenging for them to continuously monitor their dogs' activities, which are important to understand and guarantee their wellbeing. In this work, we introduce a camera-based monitoring system to help owners automatically monitor their dogs' activities. The system receives sequences of RGB images and uses YOLOv7 to detect the dog presence, and then applies post-processing to perform dog-centered image cropping on each input sequence. The optical flow is extracted from each sequence, and both sequences of RGB and flow are input to a two-stream EfficientNet to extract their respective features. Finally, the features are concatenated, and a bi-directional LSTM is utilized to retrieve temporal features and recognize the activity. The experiments prove that our system achieves a good performance with the F-1 score exceeding 0.90 for all activities and reaching 0.963 on average.

We designed a structured folksonomy system in which queries can be expanded through tag control; equivalent, synonym or related tags are bound together, in order to improve the retrieval efficiency (recall and precision) of image data. Then, we evaluated the proposed system by comparing it to a tag-based system without tag control in terms of recall, precision, and user satisfaction. Furthermore, we also investigated which query expansion method is the most efficient in terms of retrieval performance. The experimental results showed that the recall, precision, and user satisfaction rates of the proposed system are statistically higher than the rates of the tag-based system, respectively. On the other hand, there are significant differences among the precision rates of query expansion methods but there are no significant differences among their recall rates. The proposed system can be utilized as a guide on how to effectively index and retrieve the digital content of digital library systems in the Library 2.0 era.
