This paper presents an efficient Markov feature extraction method for detecting splicing forged images. The Markov states used in our method are composed of the difference between DCT coefficients in the adjacent blocks. Various first-order Markov state transition probabilities are extracted as features for splicing detection. In addition, we propose a feature reduction algorithm by analysing the distribution of the Markov probability. After training the extracted feature vectors using the SVM classifier, we determine whether the presence of the image splicing forgery. Experimental results verify that the proposed method shows good detection performance with a smaller number of features compared to existing methods.

A recently research, object detection and segmentation have emerged as crucial technologies widely utilized in various fields such as autonomous driving systems, surveillance and image editing. This paper proposes a program that utilizes the QT framework to perform real-time object detection and precise instance segmentation by integrating YOLO(You Only Look Once) and Mask R CNN. This system provides users with a diverse image editing environment, offering features such as selecting specific modes, drawing masks, inspecting detailed image information and employing various image processing techniques, including those based on deep learning. The program advantage the efficiency of YOLO to enable fast and accurate object detection, providing information about bounding boxes. Additionally, it performs precise segmentation using the functionalities of Mask R CNN, allowing users to accurately distinguish and edit objects within images. The QT interface ensures an intuitive and user-friendly environment for program control and enhancing accessibility. Through experiments and evaluations, our proposed system has been demonstrated to be effective in various scenarios. This program provides convenience and powerful image processing and editing capabilities to both beginners and experts, smoothly integrating computer vision technology. This paper contributes to the growth of the computer vision application field and showing the potential to integrate various image processing algorithms on a user-friendly platform

In this paper, we proposed a method for extracting facial characteristics of human being in an image. Given a pair of gray level sample images taken with and without human being, the face of human being is segmented from the image. Noise in the input images is removed with the help of Gaussian filters. Edge maps are found of the two input images. The binary edge differential image is obtained from the difference of the two input edge maps. A mask for face detection is made from the process of erosion followed by dilation on the resulting binary edge differential image. This mask is used to extract the human being from the two input image sequences. Features of face are extracted from the segmented image. An effective recognition system using the discrete wave let transform (DWT) is used for recognition. For extracting the facial features, such as eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth, edge detector is applied on the segmented face image. The area of eye and the center of face are found from horizontal and vertical components of the edge map of the segmented image. other facial features are obtained from edge information of the image. The characteristic vectors are extrated from DWT of the segmented face image. These characteristic vectors are normalized between +1 and -1, and are used as input vectors for the neural network. Simulation results show recognition rate of 100% on the learned system, and about 92% on the test images.

This study is devoted to the detection of the 3-dimensional point obstacles on the plane by using accumulated scan line images. The proposed accumulating only one scan line allow to process image at real time. And the change of motion of the feature in image is small because of the short time between image frames, so it does not take much time to track features. To obtain recursive optimal obstacles position and robot motion along to the motion of camera, Kalman filter algorithm is used. After using Kalman filter in case of the fixed environment, 3-dimensional obstacles point map is obtained. The position and motion of moving obstacles can also be obtained by pre-segmentation. Finally, to solve the stereo ambiguity problem from multiple matches, the camera motion is actively used to discard mis-matched features. To get relative distance of obstacles from camera, parallel stereo camera setup is used. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, experiments are carried out by a small test vehicle.

In this paper, a technique is described for classifying normal cases and abnormal cases in automatic spinal deformity detection by computer based on moire topographic images of human backs. Displacement is evaluated statistically between the middle line extracted from the entire moire image and the middle line obtained from a small rectangle area defined on the moire image. The middle line is calculated employing a developed potential symmetry analysis technique. The displacement is calculated in several regions and the mean and the standard deviation of the displacement values are chosen as two features. A linear discriminant function (LDF) is defined on the 2-D feature space based on the Mahalanobis distance and the features are classified into two categories, i.e., normal and ...

This paper presents an improved feature extraction method to achieve a good performance in the detection of splicing forged images. Strong edges caused by the image splicing destroy the statistical dependencies between parent and child subbands in the wavelet domain. We analyze the co-occurrence probability matrix of parent and child subbands in the wavelet domain, and calculate the statistical moments from two-dimensional characteristic function of the co-occurrence matrix. The extracted features are used as the input of SVM classifier. Experimental results show that the proposed method obtains a good performance with a small number of features compared to the existing methods.

It is a challenge for visually impaired people to access unfamiliar environments independently, hence the quality of life is reduced, and safety of life is compromised. An accurate and reliable door detection system comprising of way finding and indoor navigation can be beneficial for a large number of autonomous and mobile applications for visually impaired people. This paper illustrates an image-based door detection scheme for visually impaired people using stable features (edges and corners) including color averaging and image resizing. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme shows a significant improvement when compared with existing scheme.

This paper discusses on facial features extraction based on proposed skin color model. Different parts of face from input image are segmented based on skin color model. Moreover, this paper also discusses on concept to detect the eye and mouth position on face. A height and width ratio (${\delta}=1.1618$) based technique is also proposed to accurate detection of face region from the segmented image. Finally, we have cropped the desired part of the face. This exactly exacted face part is useful for face recognition and detection, facial feature analysis and expression analysis. Experimental results of propose method shows that the proposed method is robust and accurate.

This paper reports a novel object-detection technique in video sequences. The proposed algorithm consists of detection of objects in illuminated and occluded videos by using object features and a neural network technique. It consists of two functional modules: region-based object feature extraction and continuous detection of objects in video sequences with region features. This scheme is proposed as an enhancement of the Lowe's scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) object detection method. This technique solved the high computation time problem of feature generation in the SIFT method. The improvement is achieved by region-based feature classification in the objects to be detected; optimal neural network-based feature reduction is presented in order to reduce the object region feature dataset with winner pixel estimation between the video frames of the video sequence. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better overall performance than other object detection techniques, and region-based feature detection is faster in comparison to other recent techniques.
Human face detection has many applications such as face recognition, face or facial feature tracking, pose estimation, and expression recognition. We present a new method for automatically segmentation and face detection in color images. Skin color alone is usually not sufficient to detect face, so we combine the color segmentation and shape analysis. The algorithm consists of two stages. First, skin color regions are segmented based on the chrominance component of the input image. Then regions with elliptical shape are selected as face hypotheses. They are certificated to searching for the facial features in their interior, Experimental results demonstrate successful detection over a wide variety of facial variations in scale, rotation, pose, lighting conditions.
