  • This paper concerned about a imputed color printed material image in camera to decrease noise and distortion by processing median filtering with input image to identical condition. Also this paper proposed the way of compares a normal printed material with an abnormal printed material color tone with trained a learning of the error back-propagation to block classification by extracting five place from identical block(3${\times}$3) of color printed material R, G, B value. As a representative algorithm of multi-layer perceptron the error Back-propagation technique used to solve complex problems. However, the Error Back-propagation is algorithm which basically used a gradient descent method which can be converged to local minimum and the Back Propagation train include problems, and that may converge in a local minimum rather than get a global minimum. The network structure appropriate for a given problem. In this paper, a good result is obtained by improve initial condition and adjust th number of hidden layer to solve the problem of real time process, learning and train.

  • In this paper, we develope an algorithm to calculate field inhomogeneity in MR imaging using a dual fast spin echo pulse sequence. Because phase modulation time can be easily modified with this pulse sequence, high resolution image can be obtained and acquisition time can be reduced compared to gradient echo technique. In the case of phase wrapping in field map, phase corrected using image processing technique. We assume the field pattern to be second order polynomial and apply Pseudo-Inverse equation to calculate second order polynomial coefficients. These coefficients can be used for the shimming of the magnetic field.

  • This paper presents an image processing method to recognize object's position from images for robot control applications. The Sobel Mask and the Dialated Gradient Mask algorithms are used to extract and refine the edge of the object. The inside of the extracted edge is filled with '1's for calculation of the center of mass to identify object's position. We propose a heuristic method which averages the positions of the objects in 10 frames to reject noises, and discuss the application of the proposed method to robot control.

  • In this paper, we address the problem of controlling an end-effector to track and grab a moving target using the visual servoing technique. A visual servo mechanism based on the image-based servoing principle, is proposed by using visual feedback to control an end-effector without calibrated robot and camera models. Firstly, we consider the control problem as a nonlinear least squares optimization and update the joint angles through the Taylor Series Expansion. And to track a moving target in real time, the Jacobian estimation scheme(Dynamic Broyden's Method) is used to estimate the combined robot and image Jacobian. Using this algorithm, we can drive the objective function value to a neighborhood of zero. To show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, simulation results for a six degree of freedom robot are presented.

  • The tomography has played a key role in tokamak plasma diagnostics for image reconstruction. The Phillips-Tikhonov (P-T) regularization method was attempted in this work to reconstruct cross-sectional phantom images of the plasma by minimizing the gradient between adjacent pixel data. Recent studies about the comparison of the several tomographic reconstruction methods showed that the P-T method produced more accurate results. We have studied existing Laplacian matrix used in Phillips-Tikhonov regularization method and developed modified Laplacian matrix (Modified L). The comparison of the reconstruction result by the modified L and existing L showed that modified L produced more accurate result. The difference was significantly pronounced when a portion of plasma was reconstructed. These results can be utilized in the Edge Plasma diagnostics; especially in divertor diagnostics on tokamak a large impact is expected. In addition, accurate reconstruction results from received data in only one direction were confirmed through phantom test by using P-T method with modified L. These results can be applied to the tangentially viewing pin-hole camera diagnostics on tokamak.

  • Experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of the surface roughness on the flat plate turbulent boundary layer. The square rods were installed at the leading edge to make surface roughness. The particle image velocimetry was used to measure the mean velocities and velocity fluctuation component. All measurements were made over a range of w/k=1. 2 5 and $Re_x=80.000{\sim}360,000$. Friction velocity was measured by using Clauser plot method. The level of turbulent intensities on roughness surface appears more strongly than that of turbulent intensities on flat plate. A correlation of boundary layer thickness in term of $Re_x$ and w/k are presented.

  • Texture transfer is a NPR technique for expressing various styles according to source (reference) image. By late 2000s, there are many texture transfer researches. But video base researchers are not active. Moreover, they didn't use important feature like directional information which need to express detail characteristics of target. So, we propose a new method to generate texture transfer animation (using video) with directional effect for maintaining temporal coherence and controlling coherence direction of texture. For maintaining temporal coherence, we use optical flow and confidence map to adapt for occlusion/disocclusion boundaries. And we control direction of texture for taking structure of input. For expressing various texture effects according to different regions, we calculate gradient based on directional weight. With these techniques, our algorithm can make animation result that maintain temporal coherence and express directional texture effect. It is reflect the characteristics of source and target image well. And our result can express various texture directions automatically.

  • Various 2D Shape deformation techniques has been presented recently. Concerning intuitive control of deformation, gradient domain 2D deformation techniques have an advantage over FFD(Free-form deformation) approaches, since they can deform objects with less control points. However, semantic shape properties such as thickness or length are difficult to handle in these approaches due to they treat the whole shape as a simple flat shape without structural meaning. In this paper, we propose a 2D shape deformation algorithm that deforms shapes using thin, deformable skeletal structure called freeform deformation axis (FDA). This concept separates the target shape and the deformable structure and thus enables user to manipulate shapes more intuitively.

  • This paper describes a real-time human and robot tracking method in Intelligent Space with multi-camera networks. The proposed method detects candidates for humans and robots by using the histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) feature in an image. To classify humans and robots from the candidates in real time, we apply cascaded structure to constructing a strong classifier which consists of many weak classifiers as follows: a linear support vector machine (SVM) and a radial-basis function (RBF) SVM. By using the multiple view geometry, the method estimates the 3D position of humans and robots from their 2D coordinates on image coordinate system, and tracks their positions by using stochastic approach. To test the performance of the method, humans and robots are asked to move according to given rectangular and circular paths. Experimental results show that the proposed method is able to reduce the localization error and be good for a practical application of human-centered services in the Intelligent Space.

  • Photoelastic isochromatic fringes related to the difference of principal stresses have some bandwidth whose light intensities are not constant and asymmetrical in experimental images. Hence, it is difficult to measure fringe order accurately at a data point by visual observation. In this study, a method of fringe sharpening, which can extract shapened lines from both full-and half-order fringes by digital image processing, is developed. To test the method, various simple photelastic fringe patterns are simulated and their images are processed to yield sharpened lines. The method is then applied to general problems such as images of a circular disk compressed by diametrically concentrated loads and a circular cylinder sybject to internal pressure. The procedure is proved to be capable of extracting sharpened lines accurately from photoelastic isochromatic fringes.
