Density is applied both three major macroscopic traffic variables (traffic volume, speed, and density) and two measures of effectiveness (MOE) for level of service (LOS) on highway (density and V/C). Especially, it is known for the most accurate MOE on evaluating the LOS of highway. Despite such importance, there is a lack of study on density relatively than other variables for its difficulty of measurement. Existing density estimation methods have some limitations such as density values of same traffic flow vary with collecting time. In this study, we researched actual density measuring method with panoramic image, after each CCTV images in the Sapaesan Tunnel on Seoul Ring Expressway are matched into one panoramic image. Analysis through the Central Limit Theorem shows that density of 24 1 km-images, which means 24 second, applies traffic situation well. That is to say that reasonable density value regardless of collecting time, and practical density which represents actual traffic flow can be taken in case of measuring density by suggested collecting cycle.

A centrifugal cyclone dust collecting apparatus includes a hydro cyclone dust collecting apparatus for separating solid or liquid using liquid or suspension as a medium. In this study, the formation mechanism and improvement of air core and inner air layer were confirmed through Particle Image Velocimetry. These results showed that the modified experimental model was designed in the conventional method suitable for the separation of juvenile fish and eggs. The inlet speed of the multi-stage hydrocyclone dust collector, which can increase the inlet velocity and minimize floatage in the turbulence chamber, was increased from 0.15 to 0.30 m/s. As a result, the air core was stably formed, the inner air layer was increased with increasing speed. In addition, the dust collecting efficiency of egg and juvenile fish was 97.8% on average, It can infer that this system confirmed the ability to efficiently collect particles of $40{\mu}m$ or more.

When we are collecting traffic information on CCTV images, we have to install the detect zone in the image area during pan-tilt system is on duty. An automation of detect zone with pan-tilt system is not easy because of machine error. So the fisheye lens attached camera or convex mirror camera is needed for getting wide area images. In this situation some troubles are happened, that is a decreased system speed or image distortion. This distortion is caused by occlusion of angled ray as like trembled snapshot in digital camera. In this paper, we propose two methods of de-blurring to overcome distortion, the one is image segmentation by nonlinear diffusion equation and the other is deformation for some segmented area. As the results of doing de-blurring methods, the de-blurring image has 15 decibel increased PSNR and the detection rate of collecting traffic information is more than 5% increasing than in distorted images.

Median filtering is a nonlinear method which is known to be effective in removing impulse noise while preserving local image structure relatively well. However, it could still suffer the smearing phenomena of edges and fine details into neighbors due to undesirable influence from the pixels whose values are far off from the true value of the pixel at hand. This drawback mainly comes from the fact that median filters typically employ a regular shape window for collecting the pixels used in the filtering operation. In this paper, we propose a median filtering method which employs an irregular shape filter window in collecting neighboring pixels around the pixel to be denoised. By employing an irregular shape window, we can achieve good noise suppression while preserving image details. Experimental results have shown that our approach is superior to regular window-based methods.
Rock mass characterization is an integral part of rock engineering design. Much of the information for rock mass characterization comes from field fracture mapping and data collecting. This paper describes two technologies that can be used to assist with the field mapping and data collecting activities associated with rock mass characterization: digital image processing and 3D laserscanning. The basis for these techniques is described, as well as the results of field case studies and an analysis of the error in estimating fracture orientation.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability of lower limb joint angles computed with the software ImageJ during jumping movements. Background: Kinematics is the study of bodies in motion without regard to the forces or torques that may produce the motion. The most common method for collecting motion data uses an imaging and motion-caption system to record the 2D or 3D coordinates of markers attached to a moving object, followed by manual or automatic digitizing software. Above all, passive optical motion capture systems (e.g. Vicon system) have been regarded as the gold standards for collecting motion data. On the other hand, ImageJ is used widely for an image analysis as free software, and can collect the 2D coordinates of markers. Although much research has been carried out into the utilizations of the ImageJ software, little is known about their reliability. Method: Seven healthy female students participated as the subject in this study. Seventeen reflective markers were attached on the right and left lower limbs to measure two and three-dimensional joint angular motions. Jump performance was recorded by ten-vicon camera systems (250Hz) and one digital video camera (240Hz). The joint angles of the ankle and knee joints were calculated using 2D (ImageJ) and 3D (Vicon-MX) motion data, respectively. Results: Pearson's correlation coefficients between the two methods were calculated, and significance tests were conducted (${\alpha}=1%$). Correlation coefficients between the two were over 0.98. In Vicon-MX and ImageJ, there is no systematic error by examination of the validity using the Bland-Altman method, and all data are in the 95% limits of agreement. Conclusion: In this study, correlation coefficients are generally high, and the regression line is near the identical line. Therefore, it is considered that motion analysis using ImageJ is a useful tool for evaluation of human movements in various research areas. Application: This result can be utilized as a practical tool to analyze human performance in various fields.
Purpose - We seek feasible strategies to draw customers into a state of attitudinal/behavioral loyalty through perceived quality and perceived risk in the experienced food industry. Research design, data, and methodology - We utilize the LISREL model to examine the cause and effect relationships between customer loyalty, perceived quality, perceived risk, and three marketing proposals (brand image, store image, and promotion). We employed the quota sampling method to conduct the survey questionnaires, collecting365 effective customer samples in coffee shops/stores in Taipei City. Results - We find that store image substantially benefits consumer loyalty through perceived quality. Marketing managers can enhance store environment and atmosphere to elicit both attitudinal and behavioral aspects of customer-perceived quality and loyalty. Conclusions - This is the first paper to investigate simultaneously customer loyalty across brand image, store image, and promotion/marketing proposals in the food industry. Managers can promote brand image and store image at the same time to enhance customer-perceived quality.

This study is concerned with image information management system for small scale hospital. We intended to developing image management system which is used of the existing analog devices such as medical camera, supersonic analyser, endoscope etc. We developed a video in interface board based USB 2.0 for handling image in real time. It is capable of transmitting image input signal like as NTSC, PAL to personal computer through USB 2.0. The developed the board of 40 speeds compared with the exiting system based USB 1.0. Especially the developed system is very helpful for small hospital like as dental clinic, because it is easy and convenient to manage image information without expert. So it will provide reduction of time and cost for handling image information(collecting, saving, retrieval, transmitting image).
We have developed and reported several micro-spikes for minimally invasive biopsy. This paper presents a diagnosis protocol for micro-spike biopsy using paraffin-based tissue collecting tool. Using the proposed tissue collecting tool, which has a negative micro-spike structure in a porous chamber, the biopsied tissue in a micro-spike is effectively detached. The proposed diagnosis protocol prevents the loss of tissues in a paraffin embedding and sectioning process. Hence, it is compatible with conventional histopathology without additional reagents and processes. The gastro-intestinal tissue of a pig is biopsied in an in vivo environment, and then it is detached from a micro-spike using the paraffin-based tissue collecting tool. A histopathological photomicrograph of the detached tissue is acquired with the proposed diagnosis protocol. The acquired image offers clinical quality. This result shows that the paraffin-based tissue collecting tool is applicable to the medical practice.
