Fresnel Lens를 이용한 조명 광학계의 설계 및 분석 (Design and Analysis of Illumination Optical System Using Fresnel Lens)

  • We designed the illumination optical system to use Fresnel lens which is the most general type of large aperture system. The normal construction of Fresnel lens is a thin molded piece of material, usually some kind of plastic, with one side flat and the other comprising a series of concentric segments each angled in a way to provide for optimum focusing for a pair of conjugate points. The 155 mm Marine Signal Lantern is the approved for use on buoys and a maximum omnidirectional range of 8 nmi, can be obtained with standard 12V equipment, respectively. Finally, Fresnel lens with 155 mm diameter was designed and evaluated. Also, we re-designed groove "out" of Fresnel lens and compared results of groove "in" type with groove "out" type. According to the results, Fresnel lens is obtained best optical results when grooved side faces the longer conjugate.de faces the longer conjugate.

Color Clustered Multiple-input Multiple-output Visible Light Communication

  • A novel color clustered optical RGB multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is presented. As visible light can be divided into three primary regions of red, green and blue, data can be modulated and transmitted separately using these three color clusters. Each color cluster comprised of 30 RGB LEDs is modulated using on-off-keying (OOK), and selection combining is performed at the receiver, producing a diversity effect within that color cluster. The simulations demonstrate that the proposed RGB MIMO VLC system provides high performance via a relatively simple design of MIMO. Moreover, the proposed system ensures sufficient illumination from LEDs and offers extended distance if more LEDs are applied.

  • In this paper, an illumination system design using two lamps was proposed to improve the brightness of the projector. The proposal is based on the results from optical simulation. The prism array was applied to maintain the same optical properties, such as brightness distribution for the divergence angle and the composed beam size of the system. These were compared to those of the one UHP lamp system. The brightness of the two-lamp system, having a panel size of 0.74" and an f/2.9, increased by a factor of 1.7 when compared to the brightness of one UHP lamp system.

에너지 효율로 본 상업용 건물의 적정 창호에 관한 연구 (The optimal window system of office buildings considering energy efficiency)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve energy efficiency of windows in office buildings through the evaluation of their heating, cooling and illumination load. Energy efficiency is influenced by window size which is determined at the early stage of building design. The process of this study is as follows. First, energy performance is analysed according to the various rates of windows through computer simulation (ECOTECT). Then, the annual heating, cooling and illuminating loads according to the different window sizes are compared one another. Results indicated that the optimal window size considering energy efficiency is 50% of the surface area. When the window size is 50% of the surface area, annual maintenance expense is also smallest. Since the cost of cooling is larger than that of heating, too low indoor air temperature in summer is unfavorable based on the reasonable annual maintenance expenses.

New Type of White-light LED Lighting for Illumination and Optical Wireless Communication under Obstacles

  • Visible light communications (VLC) use modern solid-state light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to broadcast information. Emerging white-light LEDs allow the combination of lighting and optical wireless communication in one optical source. In this paper, a new LED lighting design using one-chip-type white LEDs is proposed for efficient illumination and optical wireless communications under the existence of several obstacles. Lighting and communication performance are analyzed to show the effectiveness of the proposed LED lighting. Specifically, the signal-to-noise ratio considering intersymbol interference and the bit-error rate of variable pulse position modulation (VPPM) with dimming control are considered.

Optical System with 4 ㎛ Resolution for Maskless Lithography Using Digital Micromirror Device

  • In the present study, an optical system is proposed for maskless lithography using a digital micromirror device (DMD). The system consists of an illumination optical system, a DMD, and a projection lens system. The illumination optical system, developed for 95% uniformity, is composed of fly's eye lens plates, a 405 nm narrow band pass filter (NBPF), condensing lenses, a field lens and a 250W halogen lamp. The projection lens system, composed of 8 optical elements, is developed for 4 ${\mu}m$ resolution. The proposed system plays a role of an optical engine for PCB and/or FPD maskless lithography. Furthermore, many problems arising from the presence of masks in a conventional lithography system, such as expense and time in fabricating the masks, contamination by masks, disposal of masks, and the alignment of masks, may be solved by the proposed system. The proposed system is verified by lithography experiments which produce a line pattern with the resolution of 4 ${\mu}m$ line width.

  • In this paper, inspection system based on optical scanning mechanism is designed and developed for solar cell wafer. It consists of optical scanning mechanism, NIR camera optics, machinery and control system, algorithm of defect detection and software. Optical scanning mechanism is composed of geometrical camera optics and structured hybrid illumination system. It is used to inspection of surface defects. NIR camera optics is used for inspection of defects inside solar cell wafer. It is shown that surface and internal micro defects can be detected in developed inspection system for solar cell wafer.

  • In this paper, would implement a transceiver for the visible light communication that based on wireless communication driving technology for LED illumination-based infrared ray communication, and measurement analyzed a design error rate of a transceiver variable rate has made about distance change -2.5m. The error rate measured a voltage variable along illuminate change between switchable circumstances, which has illuminated insight and outright. Each analyzed and measurement on the communication distance errors along the differences of disturbance light between night and days. The LED module has implemented for number of 6 through illumination dimming in case of different values. Also, implementation for the system module of a VLC transceiver based on the infrared sensors which used feedback outcome value has analyzed with error rate.
