공통 자기 상관기를 이용한 효율적인 디지털 위성 방송 프레임 동기부 회로 구조 (Efficient Frame Synchronizer Architecture Using Common Autocorrelator for DVB-S2)

  • 본 논문은 위성방송 표준인 DVB-S2 (Digital Video Broadcasting via Satellite, Second generation) 에 적용 가능한 공통 자기상관 연산기를 사용한 효율적인 프레임 동기부 회로를 제안한다. 열악한 채널 상태 환경에서의 안정적인 성능을 달성하고 구현된 기능 동기블록의 하드웨어 자원을 효율적으로 활용하기 위해 본 논문에서는 새로운 구조의 효율적인 공통 자기상관기 구조를 제안한다. 제안한 동기부 회로는 병렬 구조를 취함으로써 프레임, 주파수 동기부 회로의 성능을 개선하여 프레임 동기부의 복잡도를 현저히 감소시킬 수 있었다. 따라서 제안한 동기부 회로는 직접 구현한 방식과 비교하여 약 92%의 곱셈기 개수와 81%의 덧셈기 개수를 줄일 수 있었다. 또한 FPGA 보드와 R&STM SFU 방송 테스트 장비를 이용하여 제안된 구조를 검증하였으며 총 LUTs는 XilinxTM Viertex IV LX200 칩의 29,821을 차지하였다.

SVC 신호의 Ka대역 HDTV 위성방송서비스 적용에 관한 연구 (Studies on Applying Scalable Video Coding Signals to Ka band Satellite HDTV Service)

  • 이 연구는 Ka대역 HDTV 위성방송서비스를 제공할 때 발생하는 강우감쇠 문제를 해결하기 위하여, MPEG-4 SVC (Scalable Video Coding) 신호를 JSCC (Joint Source/Channel Coding) 시스템을 통하여 Ka대역 위성방송시스템에 적용하는 방안에 대하여 고찰하였다. Ka대역 위성방송시스템은 DVB-S2 VCM (Variable Coding and Modulation) 모드를 기반으로 하였으며, SVC 신호는 공간 계위층, 화질 계위층 및 시간 계위층을 고려하였다. JSCC 시스템은 모든 계층의 소스부호화 시스템과 채널부호화 시스템을 결합하여, 최적의 수신품질을 얻도록 각 계층의 비트 율과 그 계층에서의 소스와 채널을 위한 비트 율을 할당하였다. 계층 수는 기본계층과 향상계층을 포함하는 2개로 제한하였으며, 각 계층에 대한 비트 율은 적용 SVC 신호에 따라 영향을 받는다. 세 가지 SVC 신호의 Ka대역 위성방송서비스에의 적용성을 강우감쇠관점에서 분석하였으며, 가장 적용성이 우수한 SVC 신호를 이용하여 Ka대역 위성방송서비스에 적용하는 방안이 고찰되었다.

Effects of Supplementary Mineral Methionine Chelates (Zn, Cu, Mn) on the Performance and Eggshell Quality of Laying Hens

  • A layer experiment was conducted to determine the effects of supplementary methionine chelates (Cu, Zn and Mn), individual or in combination, on laying performance, eggshell quality, gizzard erosion, and IgG level of serum for 8 weeks. Five hundred 96-wk-old force molted ISA Brown layers were assigned to five dietary treatments. Basal diet was formulated to meet or exceed the nutrients requirements listed in NRC (1994). Five experimental diets were control, Zn-methionine chelate (Zn-Met) supplemented, Cumethionine chelate (Cu-Met) supplemented, Zn-Mn-methionine chelate (Zn-Mn-Met) supplemented and Zn-Mn-Cu-Met supplemented diet. Each treated diet was supplemented with respective mineral(s) at the level of 100 ppm in the form of methionine chelate. Egg production was increased by Cu-Met supplementation but decreased by Zn-Met supplementation. Egg weight was significantly (p<0.05) lower in Cu-Met treatment than those of the control and Zn-Met treatment. Specific gravity of eggs and eggshell strength were highest and soft egg production was lowest in Cu-Met treatment. Gizzard erosion index was significantly increased by supplementation of Cu-Met, Zn-Mn-Met or Zn-Mn-Cu-Met. Zinc content in liver significantly increased by Zn-Met, but not by Zn-Mn-Cu-Met treatment. In conclusion, 100 ppm Cu in Cu-Met chelate improved laying performance and eggshell quality but also increased gizzard erosion index. Supplementation of Zn-Met or its combination with other mineral chelates had no beneficial effects on laying performance and eggshell quality.

형개련교탕가미발효방(荊芥連翹湯加味醱酵方)의 항아토피피부염 효능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Research of Hyunggaeyunkyotanggamibalhyobang (HYGBH) on Atopic Dermatitis Treatment)

  • In order to investigate the efficacy of HYGBH on atopic dermatitis, various immune related factors were studied. The results and conclusions are as follows. Atopic dermatitis symptoms were improved in HYGBH treated group and significant decrease in dermatitis index were observed in 12 and 14 weeks. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in CD4+, CD3+/CD69+ immune cell ratio in PBMC by 18% and 40.6% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in CD3+, CD11b+/Gr-1+ immune cell ratio in dorsal skin by 44.6% and 53.1% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in IL-4, IFN-${\gamma}$ in spleen by 29.5%, 7.7% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed decrease in the expression of IL-5, IL-13, IL-17 and histamine by 21%, 9.6%, 14%, and 32.2% respectively. Also the group showed decrease in the expression of IgE by 6.8% respectively. HYGBH treated group showed significant decrease in the transcription of IL-5 and IL-3 mRNA in skin by 35.5% and 23.2% respectively. The results above indicated that treatment of HYGBH improved atopic dermatitis symptoms by anti-oxidant activity as well as immune modulation activity as a clinical evidence. Also, to increase the application of fermented oriental medicine, different fermentation conditions using various microbial strains should be accumulated as the clinical evidence in the future.

오갈피(Eleutherococcus sessiliflorus)의 배형성 세포를 이용한 고빈도 형질전환 및 재분화 (Agrobacterium-mediated Transformation of Eleutherococcus sessiliflorus using Embryogenic Calli and the Regeneration of Plants)

  • We have developed a reliable and high-frequency genetic transformation and regeneration system via somatic embryogensis of Eleutherococcus sessiliflorus. Embryogenic callus obtained from seed were co- cultivated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain EHA101/pIG121Hm harboring genes for intron-$\beta$-glucoronidase(GUS), kanamycin and hygromycin resistance. Following co-cultivation, two types of samples(fine embrogenic calli and early globular embryo clusters) were cultivated on Murashige and Skoog(MS) medium containing 1 mg/L2.4-D for 3day in dark. Transient expression of GUS gene was found to be higher in the early globular embryo clusters than in the embryogenic calli. Also, co-cultivated period affected expression of GUS gene; the best result was obtained when globular embryo clusters were co-cultivated with Agrobacterium for 3 days. Subsequently, this callus transferred to selective MS medium containing 1mg/L2.4-D, 50mg/L kanamycin or/and 30mg/L hygromycin and 300mg/L cefortaxime. These embryogenic calls were subcultured to the same selection medium at every 2 weeks intervals. Approximately 24.5% of the early globular embryos co-cultivated with Agrobacterium for 3days produced kanamycin or/and hygromycin-resistant calli. Transgenic somatic embryos were converted into plantlets in half strength MS medium supplemented with 3mg/L GA$_3$ kanamycin and were confirmed by GUS histochemical assay and polymerase chain reaction analysis. Genomic Southem blot hybridization confirmed the incorporation of NPT II gene into the host genome.

닭의 혈액내 단핵세포 표면항원 특이 단클론성 항체 생산 (Production of monoclonal antibodies specific to the surface antigens of chicken peripheral blood mononuclear cells)

  • This study was performed to produce monoclonal antibodies (mAb) specifically reacting with chicken leukocyte surface antigens. Popliteal lymph node cells of BALB/c mice previously immunized through foot-pad with peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of chickens separated by Ficoll-Histopaque method. They were fused with P3X63Ag14 mouse myeloma cells. A total of 34 hybridomas secreted antibodies specifically binding to the PBMC. According to the reactivity patterns with PBMC, the mAbs were divided into 4 groups. Group 1 mAbs (IIB3, IIB10, IIE10) specifically reacted with non-adherent lymphocytes but not with adherent cells which were mainly composed of thrombocytes and monocytes in PBMC culture. These mAbs were reactive with 25-59% of thymus cells and 42-64% of spleen cells of chickens. They did not show any significant reactivity with cells in the bursa of Fabricius, T-cell (MDCC-MSB1) and B-cell (LSCC-1104B1) lines. These results indicate that Group I mAbs specifically reacted with T-lymphocyte subpopulation. Monoclonal antibodies in Group II (IC6, IG2-2 and IID9) showed specific reactivity with monocytes but not with thrombocytes or non-adherent cells in PBMC culture. These mAbs, though not reacted with the chicken macrophage cell line, HD11, also bound to macrophages of the spleen and lung in immunohistochemical staining. Five mAbs in Group III showed characteristics of binding to lymphocytes and monocytes, but not to thrombocytes. Twenty-three mAbs in Group IV showed specific reactivity to lymphocytes, monocytes, and thrombocytes. Two mAbs (IC3 and IE9) in Group IV reacted with most of PBMC.

  • This study was carried out to produce IgY against B. bronchiseptica, parvovirus and distemper virus that are major pathogens in alimentary and/or respiratory diseases of dogs. In the comparison of adjuvants, ISA70 was the best in the rapid induction and maintence of antibody titers. Agglutination antibody titers against B. bronchiseptica were 1:1,280 ~ 1:10,240 in sera and 1:160 ~ 1:1,280 in egg yolk. Hemagglutination inhibition(HI) titers against parvovirus in sera and egg yolk were 1:80 ~ 1:320 and 1:64 ~ 1:256, respectively. Virus neutralization titers against canine distemper was 1:8 ~ 1:64 in sera and egg yolk. These results suggested that egg yolk antibody titers could be variable according to a sort of adjuvant and antigens of the pathogens.

울산지역 토지이용도에 따른 지하수 수질 및 오염특성 (Groundwater Quality and Contamination Characteristics Associated with Land Use in Ulsan Area)

  • 금번 연구에서 울산지역의 토지이용도에 따른 지하수 수질 및 오염특성을 파악하고, 지하수의 오염 정도를 평가하고 도면으로 시각화하는 방법인 오염지수를 산출하였다. 연구지역내 216개 시료에 대한 지하수의 화학조성은 매우 다양하게 나타나며, 전기전도도의 경우, $100{\sim}31,360\;{\mu}S/cm$로 매우 큰 변화를 보이고 있다. pH값은 $4.6{\sim}8.57$의 범위로 산성 내지 약알카리를 보이며 평균값은 7.0이다. 연구지역 지하수의 화학조성은 토지용도에 따라 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 해석되었다. 수질유형은 $Ca-HCO_3$, $Ca-Na-HCO_3$, 유형이 우세하며, 주거/상업지역과 공업지역 지하수의 경우는 농업지역과 녹지지역 지하수에 비해 Cl이 풍부한 (Na, Ca)-Cl 유형으로 변하고 있다. 연구지역 오염지수의 범위는 $1.1{\sim}117.6$으로 평균은 9.56으로 산출되었다.

2001년 7월과 11월의 한국남해 서부해역에서의 멸치(Anchovy, Engraulis Japonica) 어란과 자 · 치어의 분포 및 수송 특성 (Distribution and Characteristic of Transport Mechanism of Eggs and Larvae of Anchovy, Engraulis japonica, in the Southwestern Sea of Korea in July and November, 2001)

  • Distribution of anchovy (Engraulis japonica) eggs and larvae was studied in the southwestern sea of Korea in July and November, 2001. Anchovy eggs were found mainly in the oceanic fronts of the northern sea area which were formed in the offshore area of Chuja Is. Bogil Is. and Chungsan Is. from west to east. Anchovy eggs were also found in the surrounding sea of Cheju Is. in the southern sea front area. The waters were highly heterogeneous and the water masses were bordered based on temperature $(10.8-26.4^{\circ}C)$ and salinity (28.9-33.7 psu). The anchovy eggs were mostly found outside of the China Coastal Water, where salinity was below 31 psu. The anchovy eggs were not found in November. Abundance of the anchovy larvae were higher in July than November. Temperature ranged from $10.8^{\circ}C\;to\;25.9^{\circ}C\;and\;15.9^{\circ}C\;to\;20.5^{\circ}C$, and salinity ranged from 28.9psu to 34.1psu and 33.2psu to 34.1psu in July and November, respectively. Non-swimmable larvae were found throughout the whole area of the southwestern sea of Korea. The area beyond the oceanic front had anchovy eggs dispersed from the spawning grounds to offshore. Dispersion pattern showed that the eggs were transported from the spawning grounds with a process of advection and diffusion based on the flow pattern which were caused by winds. Distribution pattern of the anchovy eggs and larvae may be used for the prediction of oceanic currents in each area.

BIPHASIC CULTURE STRATEGY BASED ON HYPEROSMOTIC PRESSURE FOR IMPROVED HUMANIZED ANTIBODY PRODUCTION IN CHINESE HAMSTER OVARY CELL CULTURE

  • Hyperosmotic pressure increased specific antibody productivity ($q_{Ab}$) of recombinant CHO cells (SH2-0.32) while it depressed cell growth. Thus, the use of hyperosmolar medium did not increase the maximum antibody concentration substantially. To overcome this drawback, the feasibility of biphasic culture strategy was investigated. In the biphasic culture, cells were first cultivated in the standard medium with physiological osmolality(294 mOsm/kg) for cell growth. When cells reached the late exponential phase of growth, the spent standard medium was replaced with the fresh hyperosmolar medium (522 mOsm/kg) for antibody production. The ($q_{Ab}$) in growth phase with the standard medium was 2.1 ${\mu}g/10^6cell/day$ while the ($q_{Ab}$) in antibody production phase with the hyperosmolar medium (522 mOsm/kg) was 11.1 ${\mu}g/10^6cell/day$. Northern blot analysis showed a positive relationship between the relative contenet of Ig mRNA and ($q_{Ab}$), indicating that transcriptional regulation was involved in the response of rCHO cells to hyperosmotic pressure. Due to the enhanced ($q_{Ab}$) and increased cell concentration in biphasic culture, the maximum antibody concentration obtained in biphasic culture with 522 mOsm/kg medium exchange was 161% higher than that obtained in batch culture with the standard medium. Taken together, simple biphasic culture strategy based on hyperosmotic culture for improved foreign protein production from rCHO cells is effective in improving antibody production of rCHO cells.
