한국과 미국 남녀 대학생의 의복이미지 선호도와 성역할 정체감에 관한 연구 (Clothing Image Preferences and Sex Role Identity of Korean and American College Students)

  • The objectives of this study were to classify the contents of clothing image preferences of Korean and American students, and to examine how clothing image preferences vary according to sex role identity, sex, and culture. A woman's clothing image preference inventory and the Bem Sex Role Inventory were administered to 127 Korean students and 116 American students. Sex role idendity was classified into androgynous, masculine, feminine, and undifferentiated type. 1. Four segments of woman's clothing image preference derived by factor analysis : F. 1 'splendid-plain' ; F. 2 'feminine-masculine' ; F. 3 'casual-formal' ; F. 4 'classic-contemporary'. 2. Americans prefered splendid image more than did Koreans. Androgynous-typed males liked splendid image most among American male subjects. 3. There was interaction effect between sex and culture on feminine-masculine image preference. In Korean students, males liked feminine image much more than did females. Masculine-typed females liked masculine image most among American female subjects. 4. Koreans prefered casual image more than did Americans. 5. There was interaction effect between sex role identity, sex, and culture($4{\times}2{\times}2$) on classic-contemporary image preference. Feminine-typed females liked classic image most among Korean female subjects. 6. Korean males especially prefered luxurious image least. Korean females contemporary most, American males sexy most, American females fashionable most among four subject groups. That is, differences on clothing image preferences were found according to sex role identity, sex, and culture.

다문화가정의 가정생활문화 통합의 지향성 (Directivity of Integration of Multi-Cultural Family's Family Life Culture)

  • The Multi-cultural Family Support Center provides various educational programs and services for multi-cultural families. However, there are controversies regarding integration and assimilation, ethnic identity and ethnocentrism, and state-sponsored multi-culturalism. From the home economist's perspective, it was necessary to explore the direction of integration of family life culture in the multi-cultural society. This study concluded that there is a necessity to accept foreign culture and create a new culture while still maintaining their and our own cultural identity respectively. For this purpose, integration and assimilation must progress side by side to maintain the cultural identity and stability of multi-cultural families. But, women migrants are to adapt in their everyday life, they need to attend a Korean-language course and take part in a traditional Korean culture program such as having an assimilational characteristics. Also for the happiness of multi-cultural families ultimately not for the confronted problems, it requires sometimes education of changing migrants' own traditional customs and life culture partly. In this sense, educational and cultural programs held by Multi-Cultural Family Support Center are meaningful and their importance in adapting into everyday life must be recognised by all of us.

3대문화권 사업 계획의 역사문화적 진정성 평가 - 한국문화테마파크 영주지구와 세계유교선비문화공원 봉화지구를 대상으로 - (The Evaluation of Historical and Cultural Authenticity of the Three Major Cultural Areas Projects - Targeting Korean culture theme park in Yeongju-Zone and World confucian scholar culture park in Bonghwa-Zone -)

  • This study targets Korean culture theme park in Yeongju-Zone and World confucian scholar culture park in Bonghwa-Zone among the Three Major Cultural Areas Projects supervised by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The study analyzes the Historical and Cultural Authenticity of each project on the basis of the reports and the report materials for meeting with related organizations. The results of the study are drawn as follows. First, through the theoretical consideration, this study drew the types of authenticity: originality, identity, specificity and visibility, which are evaluation items on the Historical and Cultural Authenticity. Second, Bonghwa-Zone succeeded in acquiring originality with tangible cultural properties but Yeongju-Zone chose a project site without it. Third, with originality, Bonghwa-zone was evaluated as having resources and concept with high traditional culture connectivity and fulfilled identity. It led the feature showing the high affinity between originality and identity. Fourth, compared to the projects of Andong-Zone in the Three Major Cultural Areas Projects, these two projects failed to acquire the distinctions since the primary and the secondary influence area and major facilities & programs coincided with those of the projects of Andong-Zone. Fifth, compared to Bonghwa-Zone, Yeongju-Zone realized visibility faithfully by the conceptual flexibility of "Korean Culture" and a large-scale development. Sixth, in terms of the Historical and Cultural Authenticity of project plan, it is evaluated that Yeongju-Zone and Bonghwa-Zone only fulfilled visibility and specificity respectively.

Cultural diversity and National identity in English Textbooks of Korea

  • The aim of this study is to understand how English textbooks in Korea reflect English education policies for improving the English language learners' cultural ability. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the method of analyzing English textbooks was used because English textbooks are an important tool that most specifically reflects the English policy of a country. This study analyzed a total of 15 English textbooks currently used in South Korea. We analyzed nouns/pronouns related to culture presented in the reading section included in each unit, and compared cultural diversity and cultural identity included in English textbooks in Korea. As a result, it was found that South Korea has tried to cultivate Korean learners' cultural competence through English education and introduced their cultural pride to Western culture to realize the goal of strengthening global capabilities.

초국가적 입양과 탈경계적 정체성 -제인 정 트렌카의 『피의 언어』 (Transnational Adoption and Beyond-Borders Identity: Jane Jeong Trenka's The Language of Blood)

  • This paper elucidates the characteristics of transnational adoption, estimates the possibility of beyond-borders identity of transnational adoptees, and tries to analyze Jane Jeong Trenka's The Language of Blood in its context. Though it has been regarded as one of the most humanitarian ways of helping orphans and poor children of the world, transnational adoption, a one-way flow of children from poor Asian countries to rich white countries, has been operated under the market logic between countries. Transnational adoptees, who had been abandoned and forced to be taken away from their birth mother, and later, to fulfill the desire of white parents for a perfect family, perform an ideological labor, serving to make the heterogeneous nuclear family complete. Korean transnational adoptees, forced to transcend the borders of nation, culture, and ethnicity, experience racial conflict and alienation in white adoptive family and society. Their diaspora experience of violent dislocation creates frustration and confusion in establishing their identity as a whole being. When they return to Korea to find their birth mother and their true identity, Korean adoptees, however, are faced with other obstructing issues, such as language problem, culture conflict, and maternal nationalism. Finally, Korean transnational adoptees reject Korean nationalism discourse based on blood, and try to redefine themselves as beyond-borders subjectivities with new and fluid identities. Jane Jeong Trenka's The Language of Blood, an autobiographical novel based on her experiences as a transnational adoptee, represents a Korean adopted girl's personal, cultural, and racial conflict within her white adoptive family, and questions the image of benevolent white mother and the myth of multiculturalism. The novel further represents Jane's return to Korea to find out her true identity, and shows Jane's disappointment and alienation in her birth country due to her ignorance of language and culture. Returning to USA again, and trying to be reconciled with her American mother, Jane shows the promise of accepting her new identity capable of transcending the borders, and thus, the possibility of enlarging the category of belonging.

패밀리 레스토랑 브랜드 아이덴티티가 소비자의 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Family Restaurant Brand Identity on the Purchase Intention of Consumer)

  • As multinational brands have made inroads into domestic food service industry, and its recognition has been high to consumers, This research has tried to examine the general identity of brand, their recognition, and re-purchase behaviors. The purpose of this study is to inquire into how the brand value by brand identity was caused by recent development of food service industry, and how it had an effect on the purchase behaviors of them. In particular, factors of general identity have a significant effect on the revisit and purchase intention, as the image and ads of family restaurant among brand property factors of family restaurant showed an significant effect on the revisit intention. This study was made with priority given to the brand identity as four brand factors such as product brand, organizational brand, community brand and design brand based on the confidence. Results found that the community brand and design brand had a significant difference on purchase intention. Consequently, it has been suggested that the marketing strategies to make the brand identity strong have to be established with various brand enhancement tactics in the food service industry.

한국 문화 콘텐츠 개발의 필요성과 방향 (Necessity and Direction of Korean Culture Contents Development)

  • 본 연구에서는 현대 한국의 다문화, 다가치 사회로의 변화에 대처하고, 최근에 제기된 인문학 위기와 관련하여 이들에 대한 해결책을 마련한다는 의미에서, 한국 문화의 정체성 확립과 그 발전 방향을 모색하며, 이를 바탕으로 한국 문화콘텐츠 개발의 필요성과 방향을 논의한다. 본 연구는 두 가지 방향에서 문제의식을 갖고 연구된다. 그 하나는 오늘날과 같은 다문화, 다가치 사회에서 한국 문화의 정체성과 그 발전 방향을 모색한다는 점이고 다른 하나는 최근 제기되고 있는 인문학의 위기에 대한 논의와 더불어 문화의 기저에 있는 인문학적 지식의 중요성을 인식하고, 한국 전통 사상을 재정립하고 그것을 문화콘텐츠와 연계하여, 문화보편성으로서의 한국 문화의 정체성을 확립함과 동시에 그것의 발전 방향을 모색함이다. 본 연구에서는 한국 문화의 핵심 내용을 한국 전통 사상으로 부터 대략, 인(仁)(사랑), 화(和), 풍류정신 으로 보았다. 또한 이러한 한국 문화의 핵심 개념을 문화콘텐츠와 연계하여 영화, 음악, 만화, 에니메이션, 게임, 케릭터 개발, 한국 문화재의 디지털 복원 그리고 한국 문화 체험 프로그램 개발을 위한 기획 등의 방향을 제시한다.

Making Ethnicity for Immigrant Children: Focusing on a case of a Korean school in Paris

  • The existence of Korean schools is one of the salient characteristics of Overseas Koreans. How do such schools for Korean immigrants' children try to construct Korean ethnic identity? Also, how is immigrant children's ethnic identity developed and reinforced by the education at those schools? This paper explores these questions based on an ethnographic research at a Korean school in Paris from September 2005 to December 2007. The cultural education for immigrant children at the Korean school has a tendency to emphasize the most exotic traits of Korean culture. And this emphasis on the unfamiliar elements of Korean culture doesn't seem to help to form the ethnic identity of Korean immigrants' children. Instead, the students appear to get the sense of being a member of Koreans more from the education outside of classroom such as scholastic events than in a classroom of a Korean school. That's because scholastic events allow them to play out some of the Korean culture in more inter-ethnic settings. Therefore, it can be concluded that ethnicity of immigrant children is rather developed in inter-ethnic social contexts than born with or taught in class.

역사적 인물을 이용한 지역의 상징성과 정체성 형성 전략 - 영암 구림리의 도기문화마을 만들기를 사례로 - (Regional Identity and Symbolic Representation by the Historical Figure - In case of the making 'pottery culture village' in Kurim-ri, Youngam -)

  • 본 연구는 지역의 역사적 경험에 기초한 전통과 문화가 다양한 물리적 지역경관과 함께 지역의 상징성과 정체성 형성에 어떻게 활용되고 있는가를 영암군 구림마을을 대상으로 고찰한 사례연구이다. 구림은 지난 400 여 년 역사의 대동계를 매개로 한 사족(士族)공동체로 존재하다가 1970년대 이후 왕인의 상상적 기억의 기념 공간화를 시작으로 왕인축제의 현장, 도요지 발굴과 도기문화센터 창출로 인한 '도기문화'의 마을, 가장 최근에는 도선의 구림을 부각시킨 '전통마을'로 새롭게 변모하고 있다. 구림의 왕인의 작업은 이와 병행하여 진행되었던 도기문화센터를 중심으로 한 '문화마을 만들기'라는 문화전략으로 이어지면서 '왕인의 구림'이라는 구림의 지역정체성으로 표출되었다. 대동계의 구림과 왕인의 구림은 축제화 과정을 거치면서 더욱 탄탄하게 결합되었고, 구림의 왕인화 과정에서 시기적으로 중첩이 되면서 진행된 구림의 도요지(陶窯地) 발굴은 왕인의 도일(渡日)설화 종에서 '토기'에 관련한 문화적 에피소드에 고고학적 근거를 제공하면서 결과적으로 현재의 도기문화센터라는 문화공간올 창출하기에 이르렀다. 그러나 현재까지의 구림지역 정체성을 대변했던 '왕인과 대동계의 구림'은 도기문화센터를 매개로 한 문화전략인 '문화마을 구림'으로 발전하는 동안 그 동안 구림의 역사만들기에서 왜곡되고 소외된 채로 남아있던 도선을 '전통마을 구림'이라는 담론 위에 새롭게 부각시키고 있다. 이러한 일련의 과정을 거치면서 구림은 이제 도기문화센터의 진정한 '구림화'라는 문제와 합에 봉인과 도선을 '전동마을 구림'이라는 문화전략 안에서 어떻게 결합시킬 것인가라는 지역 상징성 문제가 새로운 쟁점이 되고 있다.

회복마취간호사의 직무만족도 영향 요인 (Impact of Job Stress, Organizational Culture and Professional Identity on Job Satisfaction of Post-anesthesia Care Unit Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 회복마취간호사의 직무스트레스, 조직문화 및 전문직 정체성, 직무만족도 정도를 확인하고 직무만족도에 영향 미치는 관련요인을 규명하고자 실시하였다. 149명의 회복마취간호사를 대상으로 자료를 수집한 결과, 직무스트레스는 $3.86{\pm}0.47$, 조직문화는 $3.19{\pm}0.34$, 전문직 정체성 $3.46{\pm}0.40$, 직무만족도는 $3.19{\pm}0.39$였다. 직무만족도는 간호사의 소속에 따라 차이가 있었고(t=2.563, p=.011), 직무만족도는 직무스트레스 중 보수 및 대우(r=.373, p<.001), 조직문화 중 혁신지향 문화(r=.507, p<.001)와 관계지향 문화(r=.559, p<.001), 그리고 전문직 정체성(r=.544, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계로 나타났다. 회복마취간호사의 직무만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 전문직 정체성(${\beta}=.391$, p<.001), 관계지향 조직문화(${\beta}=.302$, p<.001), 혁신지향 조직문화(${\beta}=.209$, p=.004) 순이었고 세 변인이 설명하는 직무만족도의 총 설명변량은 48.7%였다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 회복마취간호사의 직무만족도를 높이기 위해서는 전문직 정체성 향상과 관계 및 혁신지향 조직문화를 활성화하기 위한 방안이 고려되어야 할 것이라 사료되며, 전문직 정체성 확립을 위한 지속적인 교육과 관계 및 혁신지향 조직문화 형성을 위한 전략 개발 및 운영을 제언한다.
