르네상스 문화가 속옷디자인에 미친 영향 (The Effect of Culture on Underwear Design in Renaissance era)

  • This study analyzed the factors of change of women's underwear in the Renaissance, which had a sudden change of shape. First, the spirit of the Renaissance was focused on human-attached importance to glamorous beauty of the body and pursued the glamorous well-proportioned figure as the ideal of the human body. This expressed a woman's beautiful curved lines by reduction of their waist size and emphasis of breast and hip lines. It also created and emphasized one's physical figure, which is a characteristic of sex. Also the materials and size of underwear cleared up the classification of class. Second, through the development of weaving techniques, more textiles were produced, from linen, the most common material used, to silk in underwear and stomacher, and chemise, which was made more splendid be devising elaborate embroidery techniques. Third, as we know that the farthingale was devised in Spain and transmitted to France because of the prevalence of printing and trade, where it changed and developed to more convenient style, this shows that information interchange was active, and we can see the phenomenon that it is developing continually through the prevalence of printing and trade.

흑인 여성 패션모델의 이미지 분석 (Image Analysis of Black Female Fashion Models)

  • This study examines black images as 'the other' in history and aims to analyze images of black female fashion models which have been changed in modern society, particularly in $21^{st}$ century post-modern world. Black images, established historically as illustrated on the paintings in $19^{th}$ century, were disseminated in $20^{th}$ century throughout the world especially by way of TV and movies as several typical images such as 'Coon' the clown as the object of entertainment, 'Buck' wild and resistant black rascal, and 'Mammy' obedient and fat black woman servant. The result of image analysis of black female fashion models, can be summarized as following five images. The first is the image of 'powerful'. Black female models frequently represent healthy image which reflects black people's excellence in sports and also the traditional Image of black skin color as strength. The second is the image of 'sexy'. They are adored as having perfect ideal body shape. They show off their sex appeal with their body. The third image is 'multicultural'. Black models represent cultures besides the western. The fourth is the image of 'fantastic'. In contrast to the real, resonable things, black female models represent wild, fancy, ghost things. The fifth is the image of 'racial discrimination' By arranging them in contrast to whites, a metaphoric image of racial discrimination can be displayed. The result shows that tome of racial images still remain on the other way.

조리전공 남녀학생의 식사행태와 비만도에 대한 연구 (A Study on Dietary Habits and Obesity of the Culinary College Students)

  • 본 연구는 조리전공 남녀대학생의 식사행태 및 비만에 대한 연구로 남학생 평균 연령은 20.4세, 여학생 19.8세, 신장은 남학생 174.0 cm, 여학생 162.6 cm, 체중은 남학생 71.4 kg, 여학생 60.3 kg이었다. 평균 체지방률은 남학생 20.5%, 여학생 30.2%로 남녀학생 모두 과체중에 해당되었다. 대부분의 학생들이 본인의 체중에 유의적인 차이로 불만을 나타내었으며, 남녀학생 모두 표준형과 좀 마른형이 이상체형이라고 생각하고 있었다. 남학생이 여학생에 비해 아침을 먹지 않았고, 점심은 매일 먹는 비율이 남학생 40.7%, 여학생은 27.0%밖에 되지 않았으며, 저녁식사는 남학생의 54.8%, 여학생은 35.5%만이 매일 먹고 있어 유의적인 차이가 있었다. 식사형태는 밥류를 선호하고 야식은 주 1~2일 먹는 비율이 가장 많았으며, 식사를 하지 않는 이유로 시간이 없어서 못 먹는다는 응답이 많았다. 스트레스 시 남학생의 56.%는 평소와 같이 먹는 반면 여학생의 58.7%는 평소보다 많이 먹고 있었다.

대전시에 거주하는 남ㆍ녀 고등학생의 체격지수 평가 및 섭식 장애 행동 분석 (Study on the Physique Status and Eating Disorder Behavior among High School Students in Daejeon)

  • 본 연구는 대전시 소재 고둥학교를 대상으로 동일한 학년의 남학생과 여학생으로 분류하여 체형에 대한 주관적, 객관적 평가를 하고 섭식 장애 행동을 분석하여 섭식 장애 고위험집단을 분류해 내었다. 또한, 체형에 대한 만족도 및 체중조절 행동 및 식생활 행동을 분석하여 섭식장애 행동과의 상관성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 여학생들은 유의적으로 동일 연령의 남학생에 비해(p<0.05) 자신의 체형을 실제보다 더 비만한 쪽으로 생각하는 경향을 보였으며, 정상체중을 유지하고 있음에도 불구하고 과체중으로 인식하고 있었다. 섭식장애 고위험 집단으로 분류된 남학생과 여학생은 2.6%와 11.4%로 나타났으며, 전체 7.2%로 분류되었다. 섭식장애 행동에는 체형에 대한 만족도, 체중 조절 경험 그리고 식생활 행동이 영향을 미치는 변인으로 분석되었으며 이러한 경향은 여학생에게서 뚜렷하게 나타났다(p<0.001).

서양복식에 나타난 양적과장의 미의식에 관한 연구(I) -고대부터 근대복식을 중심으로- (The Aesthtic Consciousness of Voluminous Enlargement in the Western Costume - From Ancient to the Modern Times -)

  • Opposed to following the contours of the human body, the voluminous enlargement in costume, which characterizes the distinguished enlargement in space rather than the contour of human body, mean the enlargement aspect involving the vertical protrusion and the expansion of shape and volume as well as the extension of length. The costume enlargement as a different method of expression is a symbol showing a meaning of something and an aesthetic expression containing man's will. This voluminous enlargement of costume, as an aesthetic expression, has different formative characteristicsand immanent meanings according to ideals and thoughts as well as social and cultural background of each age Accordingly, the aesthetic consciousness also differaccording to the change of the times. To study the aesthetic consciousness of costume's voluminous enlargement, focous had been given to milieus that show comparatively conspicuous voluminous enlargement Periods that have been subjected to this study include costumes of the ancient Egypt, the Gothic period in the Middle age, the Renaissance, the Baroque Rococo of the recent times, and the modern era (Empire, Romantic, Art Nouveau. etc) With focus given to the principle of design obtained through this study were used to analyze the aesthetic characteristics, Futhermore, based on the spirit of the times and the socio-cultural symbolism, research on immanent meanings, as supported by objectivity and universal validity, was also made, the enlargement beauty of costume had been placed under the aesthetic category and, by interpreting the analogies of presented in aesthetic consciousness, the true nature of the voluminous enlargement in costume had been traced.   • A breast model was for the human body was devised by studying a body scan and human body index of a desirable breast type. Thus, when manufacturing various 3D models, these results can accordingly become a fundamental basis for realizing a desirable breast model. This study aims to provide a basic data for designing the cup patterns of brassieres in order to improve the function and wearing comfort. The comfort of three kinds of brassieres were compared: one manufactured by the actual measured size; another manufactured as per the ratio of desirable upper and lower breast lengths; and the third manufactured by the 3D model attained by the desirable human body ratio. In this study, we suggest a process for realizing the desirable breast model using the ratio of bust breadth and waist front length, which are the components for deciding the appropriate position and size of breast, and which are easy to measure. The ideal breast shape is an equilateral triangle formed by connecting the nipple with the center of the clavicle. After deciding the interval between the nipples, this value can be used to configure the locations of nipples by drawing a tangent, with equal length, from the anterior neck point (which is the center of clavicle) to the nipple. Also, since inside points of breast do not exist, the outer point of breast, upper point of breast, and below point of breast on the same plane, and the depths from the nipple point to the respective points, are applied to simulate a 3D image, by modifications along the x, y, and z axes. Depending on the type of breast, the length from the center of shoulder to the nipple, the diameter of breast, upper length of breast, and the position of nipple, are different. In conical or protruding breast, the wearing sensation is better when the nipple point of brassiere was lifted, by modifying the upper and lower lengths of breast. Considering the wearing sensation and function of a brassiere, it was better to leave the wearer's size as it is and use a pad within the same cup, rather than increase the basal area of the breast in order to increase the volume.

두록과 교잡돈(두록×피어트레인×피어트레인)의 성장, 체형형질 및 도체 부분육 생산량 비교 (Growth, Body shape and Carcass cutting yield traits of Duroc and Crossbred(Duroc×Pietrain×Pietrain)pigs)

  • 본 실험은 국내와 유럽에서 비육돈 생산 시 종료웅돈으로 이용되는 품종과 이를 활용한 교잡돈의 성장, 체형형질 및 도체 부분육 생산량을 알아보기 위해 수행하였다. 본 실험을 위해 산육형질 분석은 D(Duroc) 147두, DPP(Duroc×Pietrain×Pietrain) 101두, 도체 부분육 생산량 분석은 D, DPP 각각 16두를 사용하였다. 실험결과 등지방두께는 DPP는 12.69±3.25 mm, D는 14.07±0.24 mm로 높은 유의적 차이를 보였고, 일일사료섭취량은 DPP는 1,909 g, D는 2,101 g으로 조사되었다(p<0.001). 체고, 흉심, 흉폭은 D가 DPP에 비해 높은 유의적 차이를 보였지만(p<0.001), 체장은 비슷하게 조사되었다. D의 도체 부분육 생산량 비중은 후지, 삽겹살, 전지 순서였고, 각각 31.17, 23.40 및 16.54%를 차지하였으며, DPP의 도체 부분육 생산량 비중은 각각 33.43, 19.55 및 16.87%를 차지하였다. 부위별 도체 부분육 생산량 비율 차이를 살펴보면, 후지는 DPP 33.43%, D 31.17%로 2.26% P 차이를 보인 반면, 삼겹살은 D 23.40%, DPP 19.55% 로 3.85% P 차이를 보였다. 따라서 DPP는 D 보다 사료효율이 우수하고, 최근 건강을 생각하는 소비자들의 선호도가 높은 저지방 부위의 생산 증대 효과를 기대할 수 있다고 판단된다. 이러한 각각 품종의 특성은 우수한 품종개발에 기초자료로써 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

여고생 여름 교복 블라우스의 착용감과 만족도에 관한 연구 (Research on the Wearing Sensations and Satisfaction of High School Girls Uniforms' Summer Blouses)

  • This study is to present a female high school summer blouse with high movement functionality and satisfying appearance, surveyed the students for their understanding of summer blouse. Experimental study's research method was questionnaire survey. By using questionnaires, the satisfaction and comfort of each region of the current worn summer blouse was analyzed. The results of this research are as follows. After surveying 371 high school students in the Daejeon region on the currently worn summer blouse comfort levels, 48.4% showed dissatisfaction about the width of the sleeves and the armpits and over 93% wanted the use of elastic materials as an alternative. After investigating the summer blouses' mending state, 41% of students that mending their clothes chose the alternation of reducing the overall silhouette of the blouse in all areas. This reflects the female high school students' mentality that thin body shape is the ideal.

Maxillofacial reconstruction with Medpor porous polyethylene implant: a case series study

  • Objectives: The role of alloplastic materials in maxillofacial reconstruction is still controversial. Determining the utility of porous, high-density, polyethylene implants as a highly stable and flexible, porous alloplast, with properties such as rapid vascularization and tissue ingrowth, is crucial in cases of maxillofacial deformities and aesthetic surgery. Materials and Methods: Thirty high-density porous polyethylene implants were implanted in 16 patients that had been referred to a private office over a three-year period. These implants were used for correcting congenital deformities, posttraumatic defects and improving the aesthetic in nasal, paranasal, malar, chin, mandibular angle, body and orbital areas. Results: The outcomes of the cases in this study showed good aesthetic and functional results. The majority of patients had no signs of discomfort, rejection or exposure. Two implants suffered complications: a complicated malar implant was managed by antibiotic therapy, and an infected mandibular angle implant was removed despite antibiotic therapy. Conclusion: Based on the results, the Medpor implant seems to be an excellent biomaterial for correcting various facial deformities. Advantages include its versatility and relatively ideal pore size that allows for excellent soft tissue ingrowth and coverage. It is strong, flexible and easy to shape.

Natural vibrations and hydroelastic stability of laminated composite circular cylindrical shells

  • This paper studies the dynamic behavior of laminated composite circular cylindrical shells interacting with a fluid. The mathematical formulation of the dynamic problem for an elastic body is developed based on the variational principle of virtual displacements and the relations of linear elasticity theory. The behavior of an ideal compressible fluid is described by the potential theory, the equations of which together with boundary conditions are transformed to a weak form. The hydrodynamic pressure exerted by the fluid on the internal surface of the shell is calculated according to the linearized Bernoulli equation. The numerical implementation of the mathematical formulation has been done using the semi-analytical finite element method. The influence of the ply angle and lay-up configurations of laminated composites on the natural vibration frequencies and the hydroelastic stability boundary have been analyzed for shells with different geometrical dimensions and under different kinematic boundary conditions set at their edges. It has been found that the optimal value of the ply angle depends on the level of filling of the shell with a fluid. The obtained results support the view that by choosing the optimal configuration of the layered composite material it is possible to change upwards or downwards the frequency and mode shape, as well as the critical velocity for stability loss over a wide range.
