C-ITS 도입을 위한 ITS Station 구성방안

  • 최근 전 세계적으로 도로교통의 안전성 제고와 효율성 증진, 환경성 및 지속가능성 확보를 목적으로 추진되고 있는 C-ITS의 동향분석을 통해 C-ITS의 아키텍처 및 ITS Station 구성내용을 정리하였다. C-ITS 핵심요소인 ITS Station의 구성방안은 유럽의 DRIVE C2X, 미국의 Connected Vehicle Program의 Model Deployment인 Safety Pilot 프로젝트, 일본의 C-ITS 추진계획, 한국의 SMART Highway 연구개발 사례를 통해 도출하였다. 국내외 C-ITS 연구개발 사례와 국내 도로교통여건 및 현 ITS 환경을 고려한 C-ITS 아키텍처와 ITS Station 구성방안을 4가지 구성요소별로 제시하였고 차량용 ITS Station과 노변 ITS Station의 주요 고려사항과 요구기능으로 현 ITS를 적극적으로 수용하면서 C-ITS 단말의 보급률을 확대하는 방안으로 제안하였다.

Analysis of Driving and Environmental Impacts by Providing Warning Information in C-ITS Vehicles Using PVD (PVD를 활용한 C-ITS 차량 내 경고정보 제공에 따른 주행 및 환경영향 분석)

  • C-ITS (Cooperative-Intelligent Transportation System) refers to user safety-oriented technology and systems that provide forward traffic situation information based on a two-way wireless communication technology between vehicles or between vehicles and infrastructure. Since the Daejeon-Sejong pilot project in 2016, the C-ITS infrastructure has been installed at various locations to provide C-ITS safety services through highway and local government demonstration projects. In this study, a methodology was developed to verify the effectiveness of the warning information using individual vehicle data collected through the Gwangju Metropolitan City C-ITS demonstration project. The analysis of the effectiveness was largely divided into driving behavior impact analysis and environmental analysis. Compliance analysis and driving safety evaluation were performed for the driving impact analysis. In addition, to supplement the inadequate collection of Probe Vehicle Data (PVD) collected during the C-ITS demonstration project, Digital Tacho Graph ( DTG ) data was additionally collected and used for effect analysis. The results of the compliance analysis showed that drivers displayed reduced driving behavior in response to warning information based on a sufficient number of valid samples. Also, the results of calculating and analyzing driving safety indicators, such as jerk and acceleration noise, revealed that driving safety was improved due to the provision of warning information.

Analysis on Broadcasters and Internet Reports that Provide Weather Information Regarding Typhoons (태풍시기 기상정보 제공에 대한 방송사와 인터넷 보도자료 분석)

  • As a result of broadcasters' websites, there were more reports during the typhoon Bolaven/Tembin in 2012 than in 2002 and 2003. Checking related press releases of each broadcaster on NAVER, YTN reports are 3 times more than KBS. Considering great technology progress in the Internet and smart phone user environment compared to the past, it is thought to be rather regretful in that KBS has been the supervising broadcaster over Korean disaster. As a result of daily reports, the year 2002 typhoon Rusa was reported from the date of its arrival on Korean Peninsular to 3 days, but the information required to be provided for disaster prevention before its arrival was too scarce. 2003 typhoon Maemi was reported as many times as the 2002 typhoon, but its information was provided before its arrival. This is meaningful because the information provision was intended for disaster prevention unlike the past. In 2012, the number of weather forecast broadcast on the typhoon Bolaven/Tembin increased greatly compared to 2002 and 2003. This was also determined to be due to abundant information provided by broadcasters and the Internet portal sites as a result of great progress in Korea internet industry.

A Study on the Educational Applications of IPTV (IPTV(Internet Protocol Television)의 교육적 활용 방안 연구)

  • With the advent of convergence environment of broadcasting and communication, IPTV has been widely used. It provides services such as information, movie contents and broadcasting with TV through super-highway information networks. The purpose of this study is to suggest its educational applications to overcome the limits existing in the education. For this goal, we sought its concept and characteristic and drew educational implications by analyzing its contents. We also suggested what-if scenarios for its educational applications, considered its possibilities in educational applications and suggested the kinds of teaching-learning utilizing it and its educational applications for the various subjects. Finally, we examined problems which were considered before its applications in the education with the classification of legal, technical and educational problems.

PDAODMRP: An Extended PoolODMRP Based on Passive Data Acknowledgement

  • An ad hoc network is a multi-hop wireless network. Its limited bandwidth and frequently changing topology require that its protocol should be robust, simple, and energy conserving. We have proposed PoolODMRP to reduce its control overhead greatly by its one-hop local route maintenance. However, PoolODMRP still has some shortcomings. In this paper, we propose PDAODMRP (passive data acknowledgement ODMRP) to extend PoolODMRP. Compared with PoolODMRP, PDAODMRP has the following contributions: (1) It knows the status of its downstream forwarding nodes by route information collected from data packets instead of BEACON signal of MAC layer; (2) it max simplifies the route information collected from data packets by pool nodes; (3) it adopts a dynamic local route maintenance to enforce its local route maintenance; (4) it adopts the route evaluation policy of NSMP (neighbor supporting multicast protocol). Compared with PoolODMRP, PDAODMRP has lower control overhead, lower data delivery delay, and lower data overhead.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of MAC (Media Access Control) layer in DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication). It will be widely applied for ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) services; for example ETC (Electric Toll Control), BIS (Bus Information System) etc., needed to small packet size. But If ITS service is evolving to advance ITS, ADIS (Advanced Driver Information Systems) and AVHS (Advanced Vehicle Highway System) etc, be needed larger packet size. In the future, it may offer more various services such as traffic information, collection, and multimedia information. There are two kind of physical media, IR(Infrared) and RF(Radio frequency). And each system has their own protocol that is adaptive in special characteristics of physical medium for using efficiently limited radio resources. In this paper, we analyze the special characteristics of each system. And we study practical use of some related services expected to be used in the near future, by analyzing the transmission efficiency in each DSRC system.

  • Satellite and aerial remote sensing (RS) techniques have been provided to collect spatial data globally over the last few decades. However in developing countries such as China, there is still an urgent need for low cost and high resolution RS data. As an emerging RS platform, commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) integrated with state-of-the-art sensors and information technologies has the potential to become a low cost tool to meet application demands. In this paper, the architecture of UAV RS operation system is mentioned. Moreover, key technologies in UAV RS system are analyzed and current work is reported.
