This thesis explores the actual circumstances of Korean nursing by investigating its present situations. Ultimately, the intent of this study aims to establish a future direction of Korean Nursing. As such, the current conditions of Korean nursing is analyzed in the following categories: education, practice, research, nursing policy, expansion of nursing field, and entrepreneurship. In the final conclusion, an appropriate orientation of the future of Korean nursing is discussed. There are two primary Nursing programs, a three-year(63) and a four-year(53), in Korean Nursing education. Master's programs are available at 32 nursing schools or 32 professional graduate schools. A total of 15 nursing schools have a doctoral program in Korea. The ratio of graduates between the three-year and four year programs is 76:24. Hence, it is highly encouraged to expand four-year nursing programs, because it will help raise the social status of nursing professionals as well as the quality of nursing. In the clinical nursing field, independency and self regulation are critical. As such, organizational change, implementation of a standardized nursing m information system, appropriate workforce, and improvement of the reimbursement system in nursing is recommended. In community nursing, the following should be resolved to provide better nursing services: improvement of working condition and benefits, establishment of a law enforcing the hiring of nurses, and providing continuing education. The number of nursing research has increased and nursing studies are in great quantity. However, research in practices and theories are more in demanded. Hence, research that integrates theories and practices are very significant. Ultimately, it is critical to support nursing studies that will influence nursing policy. The Korean Nurses Association(KNA) is an organization that supervises the nation's nursing policy. The primary focus of KNA is to combine the three and four year undergraduate education systems into 4 years and to establish the Nursing Practice Act. The Ministry of Health and Welfare has adapted a system to educate and certify nurse specialists in 10 nursing areas in 21 nursing graduate schools expecting high-quality nursing services and a decrease of cost. The government also allowed nurses to operate facilities for health management or welfare agencies.
This study was evaluated the indicators of GRI guideline LA6-LA9 for industrial safety sanitation field on 22 domestic sustainable management reports and 46 overseas reports published by companies in 2007 and 2008, was developed new indicators with emphasis on industrial safety sanitation act, and was assessed whether they are released. As a result, LA6(Percent of total workforce represented in formal joint management-work health and safety committees that help monitor and advise on occupational health and safety programs) was evaluated highest in release ratio on whether to release the reports by each indicator of industrial safety sanitation field using domestic sustainable management report GRI guideline, and in the case of overseas companies, it was evaluated that there is no companies that release all from LA6 through LA9 among GRI guideline, but it was grasped that the ratio of partial release is high. As for the release of indicators was developed with the use of industrial safety sanitation act of 22 domestic companies, the release of indicator No. 1(report and industrial disaster record) and 10(health diagnosis) of industrial safety sanitation act was high. This study is meaningful in that it analyzed the industrial safety sanitation field of sustainable management report(CSR) that has not been attempted so far with the use of new indicators developed with emphasis on GRI guideline and industrial safety sanitation act.
Since most construction workers comprehend information on work through sight, the importance of safety signs are increasing by the day. In Korea, due to the sharp economic progress and the higher standard of the workforce, since the end of 1980, each year the number of foreign workers entering the country who working simple technical jobs have increased this condition. This study researched safety signs, which are the final accident prevention measures at the workplace. Based on the study, comprehension of the standard safety signs of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) was lacking at a level of 2.5. Also, the perception level of the Industry Public Safety Law (38%) was very low. And, it was found that sex and experience or non-experience in safety training was not an issue in the level of understanding. However, when satisfying the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and changing the safety signs, the level of understanding went up to 3.49 and the perception level was increased significantly to 70%. Thus, it is concluded that, since the foreign workers are mainly from non-English speaking countries and because the workers of Korea are not familiar with English, in order to provide proper safety information, there must first of all be simplistic and concise pictograms. This will provide needed information and must be coupled with simple English words that can give additional information to the worker and be effective in helping him understand and perceive the safety sign. Also, it has been determined that the existing forms of safety signs and their effectiveness in industry accident prevention must be reassessed.

The Seongsu handmade shoes street consists of subsidiaries, leather shoe manufacturers, and shoe stores associated with the business as a domestic shoe business cluster. Since its development in the 1980s, the shoe industry has been a center of shoe manufacturing but since the 2000s, it has lacked a fully developed environment, a uniform distribution system, market-oriented brand, marketing and design, and also suffers from an aging workforce. Seoul officials and Seongsu-dong small business owners must overcome these difficulties through town enterprise development, brand creation and marketing co-promoting composition of the characterization and distance, but the situation is still insignificant. The purpose of this study is to determine the actual situation as targeted at small merchant handmade shoes Seongsu-dong Street, to determine the factors in the problem, and to propose substantial improvements for Seongsu handmade shoes street. This study was a survey of street sales outlets in Seongsu handmade shoes street in Seoul. The spatial extent of the study was to set up the scope by reference to the directions given through the Seongsu handmade shoes street site. To build infrastructure facilities and distribution systems for the betterment of handmade shoes Seongsu-dong street, it is important to gain a competitive edge through a specialized industry such as a marketing strategy to establish branding as a specialized company. Shoemakers should also seek their own activation measures in areas such as training professionals, universities and corporate projects for joint participation in the ongoing development of new content. To pioneer the domestic and international sales channels, it is important to broaden the sales infrastructure. These areas will ultimately enable a significant contribution to strengthening national competitiveness.

The concept of smart city is understood as an indispensable component of urban regeneration projects in small cities in terms of providing a better urban environment and efficient living systems with a limited budget. Recently, the Korean government revised the law that related to the construction of the smart city and started to implement the smart city concept not only to new-large urban development but also to small-existed regeneration projects. However, it is difficult for small and medium-sized cities that are suffering from the insufficient professional workforce; knowledge supports for high-tech and lack of professional networks to proceed smart city planning and project that containing regional characteristics. This paper aims to examine the effective way of urban regeneration for small and medium-sized cities through smart city planning and strategy. As an important case, this paper looks at the 'Smart City Challenge' competition that was hosted by the US Department of Transportation in 2015. It examines the background and operation process of the smart city challenge competition, and then analyses each city's strategy and characteristics of seven finalists. This paper highlights the several key lessons to Korean cities: 1) the importance of national government's support in financial and professional resources; 2) the cooperation with local governments and IT corporations which provides realistic and detailed technical solutions; 3) the holistic and integrated approach to urban regeneration starting from transportation issues; 4) the necessity of the government's clear visions and guidelines toward the smart city.

This paper is aimed at embodying the optimal system for foreign workforce supply of nation in order to introduce qualified foreign workers at the age of eleven thousand foreigners. It is difficult to employ foreign workers qualified and it makes job rosters' confidence fall down which is the supplementary resources when selecting due to the insufficient job seekers' detailed information. Therefore, the moving control system should be added in current system to deal with these problems. For this, in this paper, we propose that the moving picture embedded system applies to the current EPS utilizing multimedia, network and database technologies as regards adding the function of the moving picture synthesis to recent system. It also suggests the advanced foreign employment control system related to the advanced system which makes employers to hire foreign workers satisfying their requirements and demand.
Due to the wide spread of customers' frequent access of non face-to-face services, there have been many attempts to improve customer satisfaction using huge amounts of data accumulated throughnon face-to-face channels. Usually, a call center is regarded to be one of the most representative non-faced channels. Therefore, it is important that a call center has enough agents to offer high level customer satisfaction. However, managing too many agents would increase the operational costs of a call center by increasing labor costs. Therefore, predicting and calculating the appropriate size of human resources of a call center is one of the most critical success factors of call center management. For this reason, most call centers are currently establishing a department of WFM(Work Force Management) to estimate the appropriate number of agents and to direct much effort to predict the volume of inbound calls. In real world applications, inbound call prediction is usually performed based on the intuition and experience of a domain expert. In other words, a domain expert usually predicts the volume of calls by calculating the average call of some periods and adjusting the average according tohis/her subjective estimation. However, this kind of approach has radical limitations in that the result of prediction might be strongly affected by the expert's personal experience and competence. It is often the case that a domain expert may predict inbound calls quite differently from anotherif the two experts have mutually different opinions on selecting influential variables and priorities among the variables. Moreover, it is almost impossible to logically clarify the process of expert's subjective prediction. Currently, to overcome the limitations of subjective call prediction, most call centers are adopting a WFMS(Workforce Management System) package in which expert's best practices are systemized. With WFMS, a user can predict the volume of calls by calculating the average call of each day of the week, excluding some eventful days. However, WFMS costs too much capital during the early stage of system establishment. Moreover, it is hard to reflect new information ontothe system when some factors affecting the amount of calls have been changed. In this paper, we attempt to devise a new model for predicting inbound calls that is not only based on theoretical background but also easily applicable to real world applications. Our model was mainly developed by the interactive decision tree technique, one of the most popular techniques in data mining. Therefore, we expect that our model can predict inbound calls automatically based on historical data, and it can utilize expert's domain knowledge during the process of tree construction. To analyze the accuracy of our model, we performed intensive experiments on a real case of one of the largest car insurance companies in Korea. In the case study, the prediction accuracy of the devised two models and traditional WFMS are analyzed with respect to the various error rates allowable. The experiments reveal that our data mining-based two models outperform WFMS in terms of predicting the amount of accident calls and fault calls in most experimental situations examined.

Objectives: Immunization is considered one of the most successful and cost-effective public health interventions protecting communities from preventable infectious diseases. The Korean government set up a dedicated workforce for national immunization in 2003, and since then has made strides in improving vaccination coverage across the nation. However, some groups remain relatively vulnerable and require intervention, and it is necessary to address unmet needs to prevent outbreaks of communicable diseases. This study was conducted to characterize persistent challenges to vaccination. Methods: The study adopted a qualitative method in accordance with the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research checklist. Three focus group interviews were conducted with 15 professionals in charge of vaccination-related duties. The interviews were conducted according to a semi-structured guideline, and thematic analysis was carried out. Data saturation was confirmed when the researchers agreed that no more new codes could be found. Results: A total of 4 main topics and 11 subtopics were introduced regarding barriers to vaccination. The main topics were vaccine hesitancy, personal circumstances, lack of information, and misclassification. Among them, vaccine hesitancy was confirmed to be the most significant factor impeding vaccination. It was also found that the factors hindering vaccination had changed over time and disproportionately affected certain groups. Conclusions: The study identified ongoing unmet needs and barriers to vaccination despite the accomplishments of the National Immunization Program. The results have implications for establishing tailored interventions that target context- and group-specific barriers to improve timely and complete vaccination coverage.

In this paper, the cost-benefit analysis is used to compare policy alternatives on whether the Korea National Museum of Contemporary Art should be incorporated or not. Alternative 1 (Current State) is to remain as it is. Alternative 2 (Incorporation State) is to change its legal status from government agency into incorporation. To make the process of incorporating, some assumptions are introduced: (1) no labor workforce reductions, (2) wage increase, (3) keeping publicness. These assumptions reduce the resistance from worker and provides them incentives to accept the incorporating process. Those assumptions also reflect the direction of policy of the government. After estimating the net present values of each alternative, it turns out that the NPV of Alternative 2 (Incorporating State) is larger than that of Alternative 1 (Current State). This result holds after doing sensitivity test using different discount rates.

The "New Korean Wave" (Shin Hallyu) phenomenon, which is represented by the global popularity of BTS and director Bong Joon-ho's film "Parasite," is making the world excited. The influence of the Korean Wave is not only on politics, society, and culture, but it also has considerable economic ripple effects. We applied individual in-depth interviews with seven media and marketing experts in China to assess the changes in the impact of Korean cultural content (i.e., Hallyu content) and examine the possibility of marketing for Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) products using Hallyu content. Considering its massive market potential, China is still an attractive target for Korean companies and is of even greater importance to SMEs, which are highly dependent on exports and lacking marketing budgets as well as a professional workforce. Korean businesses and the economy at large would get a real boost if they could penetrate the Chinese market by utilizing the strength of Hallyu content. Based on the results of the in-depth interviews, the conclusion of our study suggests the direction of advertising strategy on how Korean products can attract the minds of Chinese consumers by utilizing the Shin Hallyu. This research is a practical study that diagnoses the reality of the Korean Wave in China objectively and has excellent practical implications as it proposes methods of how SMEs should use Hallyu for their marketing strategies.
