The Designs and Implementation of Trusted Channel between Secure Operating Systems

  • Trusted channel provides a means of secure communication and it includes security services such as confidentiality, authentication, and so on. This paper describes the implementation of trusted channel between secure operating systems that integrates access control mechanisms with FreeBSD kernel code[1]. The trusted channel we developed offers confidentiality an4 message authentication for network traffic based on the destination address. It is implemented in the kernel level of IP layer and transparent to users.

  • As smart phones have become widely adopted, they have brought about changes in individual lifestyles, as well as significant changes in the industry. As the mobile technology of smart phones has become associated with all areas of industry, it is not only accelerating innovation in other industries such as shopping, healthcare service, education, and finance, but is also creating new markets and business opportunities. The preparation of thorough security measures for smart phones is increasing in demand. While offering excellent mobility and convenience, smart phones can be exposed to a range of violation threats. In particular, it is necessary to make efforts to develop a security system that can preemptively cope with potential security threats in the banking service area, which requires a high level of reliability. This paper suggests a security reference model that is considered for the smart phone-based joint mobile banking development project being undertaken by the Bank of Korea in 2010. The purpose of this study is to make a security reference model for a reliable smart phone-based mobile financial service, by recognizing the specific security threats directed toward smart phones, and providing countermeasures to these security threats. The proposed mobile banking security reference model is useful in improving system security by systematically analyzing information security threats to the mobile financial service, and by presenting the guideline for the preparation of countermeasures.

  • 본 본 논문은 항공 교통 체계에서 가장 중요하게 고려되는 안전한 항공체계에 대한 연구를 중심으로 보안구조를 검토하고 보안모델을 제시하였다. 분석된 내용은 항공서비스 분야 관련 보안기술을 기반으로 국제적인 기술 동향과 함께 국내의 항공체계에 대한 보안모델을 다루고 있다. 항공통신 네트워크의 보안 프레임워크에서는 항공과 지상 데이터링크 보안기술, 항공체계에 따른 보안구조를 분석하였고 U-information HUB 모델의 보안구조를 제시하였다. U-information HUB 보안구조는 항공사, 공항 네트워크, 항공기, 관련 정부기관 등과 연동범위를 포함하고 있다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to consider the expansion of non-traditional security threats and the national-level response to the emergence of emerging security threats in ultra-uncertain VUCA situations. As a major research method for better analysis, the theoretical approach was referred to papers published in books and academic journals, and technical and current affairs data were studied through the Internet and literature research. The instability and uncertainty of the international order and security environment in the 21st century brought about a change in the security paradigm. Human security emerged as the protection target of security was expanded to individual humans, and emerging security was emerging as the security area expanded. Emerging security threatsthat have different characteristicsfrom traditionalsecurity threats are expressed in various ways, such as cyber threats, new infectious disease threats, terrorist threats, and abnormal climate threats. First, the policy and strategic response to respond to emerging security threats is integrated national crisis management based on artificial intelligence applying the concept of Foresight. Second, it is to establish network-based national crisis management smart governance. Third, it is to maintain the agile resilience of the concept of Agilience. Fourth, an integrated response system that integrates national power elements and national defense elements should be established.

Enhancing Cyber-Physical Systems Security: A Comprehensive SRE Approach for Robust CPS Methodology

  • Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are introduced as complex, interconnected systems that combine physical components with computational elements and networking capabilities. They bridge the gap between the physical world and the digital world, enabling the monitoring and control of physical processes through embedded computing systems and networked communication. These systems introduce several security challenges. These challenges, if not addressed, can lead to vulnerabilities that may result in substantial losses. Therefore, it is crucial to thoroughly examine and address the security concerns associated with CPS to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of these systems. To handle these security concerns, different existing security requirements methods are considered but they were unable to produce required results because they were originally developed for software systems not for CPS and they are obsolete methods for CPS. In this paper, a Security Requirements Engineering Methodology for CPS (CPS-SREM) is proposed. A comparison of state-of-the-art methods (UMLSec, CLASP, SQUARE, SREP) and the proposed method is done and it has demonstrated that the proposed method performs better than existing SRE methods and enabling experts to uncover a broader spectrum of security requirements specific to CPS. Conclusion: The proposed method is also validated using a case study of the healthcare system and the results are promising. The proposed model will provide substantial advantages to both practitioners and researcher, assisting them in identifying the security requirements for CPS in Industry 4.0.

  • Ubiquitous 사회에서 기본 인프라를 구축하는 전력 공급망과 전력기기의 안전은 중요하다. u-City의 재난을 방지하기 위하여 u-IT전력기기의 모듈별 성능평가와 보안은 u-City 안전을 위해 꼭 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 u-IT전력기기의 모듈에 온도센서, 습도센서, 화재센서들을 탑재한 수배전반, 홈 분전반, Home Network Wall-Pad, 차단기, MPNP 블랙박스, 아크 검출기, 아크 안전기, 아울렛의 모듈별 성능평가 방안과 방법 및 보안방법을 연구한다. u-IT전력기기들은 센서의 정보들을 전달 및 분석하여 위험성을 사전 예방하여 안전성을 확보하고, 접근제어, 인증 등 보안대책으로 u-IT 전기안전통합관리시스템의 보안성을 강화시켜, 안전성과 보안성을 갖춘 u-City건설과 운영에 기여하게 될 것이다.

  • Recently, new variants of Ransomware are becoming a new security issue. Ransomware continues to evolve to avoid network of security solutions and extort users' information to demand Bitcoin using social engineering technique. Ransomware is damaging to users not only in Korea but also in all around the world. In this thesis, it will present research solution to prevent and cope from damage by new variants Ransomware, by studying on the types and damage cases of Ransomware that cause social problems. Ransomware which introduced in this paper, is the most issued malicious code in 2016, so it will evolve to a new and more powerful Ransomware which security officers cannot predict to gain profit. In this thesis, it proposes 4 methods to prevent the damage from the new variants of Ransomware to minimize the damage and infection from Ransomware. Most importantly, if user infected from Ransomware, it is very hard to recover. Thus, it is important that users understand the basic security rules and effort to prevent them from infection.

  • The current technology drain at small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea is very serious. According to the National Intelligence Service's survey data, 69 percent of technology leaks are made through employees of small and medium-sized enterprises. A document security system was introduced to compensate for the problem. However, small and medium-sized enterprises are not doing well due to their poor environment. Therefore, it proposes a document security system suitable for small businesses by developing a location information machine learning system that automatically creates a document security Green Zone through learning, and an ECM-based electronic document leakage prevention system that manages generated Green Zone information by reflecting it into the document authority system. And step by step, propose a universal solution through cloud services..

  • 본 연구는 정보보호 아키텍처 구성과 보안활동이 정보자산보호 및 조직성과에 미치는 영향력을 밝히는데 목적을 갖고 정부, 공공기관, 민간 기업 종사자 300명을 대상으로 설문조사 하였다. 연구결과 분류식별과 위험분석 관리요인이 내부정보 유출방지를 위한 정보보호 아키텍처 구성 및 보안활동에 유용성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 정보기술 아키텍처와 구성원의 인식과 교육요인은 기각됨으로써 제한적인 정보보호 아키텍처 구성 및 보안활동이 요구됨을 시사해 주었다. 독립변인으로서의 아키텍처와 구성원에 대한 재인식을 위한 교육은 그 만큼 중요함을 인식시켜 주고, 일반화된 프로세스로 정보보호 통제나 관리 활동에 크게 기여하지 못하고 다만 위험분류 식별관리와 위험분석 관리의 일반화를 통한 엄격한 보안활동이 유의적인 조직성과에 미치는 영향이 큼을 시사해 준 것이라 할 수 있다.

산업보안 전문자격 활성화를 위한 정책개발 연구 (A Study on the Policy Development for Activation of Industrial Security Professional Qualifications)

  • 산업보안은 융·복합 기술의 급속한 발전과 함께 그 중요성이 지속적으로 커지고 있다. 이에 따라 산업보안 전문인력의 수급 차이도 매년 커질 것으로 전망하고 있다. 산업보안 전문인력 수급 차이를 줄이기 위해서는 전문인력 양성뿐만 아니라 전문자격 취득자도 동시에 확보해 나가는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 우리나라는 2010년부터 민간자격으로 산업보안관리사를 도입하였고, 2017년부터는 국가공인자격으로 승격시켜 산업보안 현장에서 전문가로 활동할 수 있도록 지원하고 있다. 그러나 산업보안관리사 자격은 아직 산업현장에서 전문자격으로 인정받지 못하고, 활용도 측면에서도 낮은 것으로 나타나며 학문적 연구도 정체된 시점이다. 본 연구는 이러한 배경 하에 산업보안 전문자격 중 산업보안관리사 자격을 중심으로 활성화 방안을 도출하는 것에 목표를 두었다. 세부적으로 산업보안관리사 자격의 운영실태와 관련 선행연구를 분석하여 조직적 측면, 자격증 제도개선 및 운영측면, 자격증 취득자 활용측면, 전문성 제고측면 등 4가지 분야의 활성화 방안을 마련하였다.
