  • This study developed a new model for evaluating effects about the success of six sigma activities. This model consists of four constructs such as success of six sigma, employee's success experience, customer satisfaction, and business performance. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is used to analyze causality among the four constructs. Hypothesis were tested through a field study conducted for one hundred and thirty-one project leaders, who were asked to evaluate their experiences of six sigma projects. The results indicate that six hypothesis are statistically significant. As a result, the success of six sigma doesn't influence the customer satisfaction directly, but it influences customer satisfaction indirectly through employee's success experience. We find out that control for employee's success experience is important as well as success of six sigma in business innovation. Otherwise business performance is influenced directly by success of six sigma, that is business performance isn't influenced directly by employee's success experience but influenced indirectly through customer satisfaction. This study found that the change management raising employee's success experience is important in Six Sigma.

First, the assessment items of the whole exhibition operation, workforce, counselor's ability, facility and environment were important analysis factors for exhibition recognition, quality of human operation and quality of exhibition facility and environment. Second, exhibition recognition was found to be the most significant factor that influenced exhibitor's cognitive achievement, exhibition employee operation and exhibition facility. Third, exhibitors' satisfaction simultaneously increased as exhibition recognition and employee operation quality were raised. However, exhibition facility didn't strongly influence exhibitors' satisfaction. Fourth, high exhibition recognition, employee operation and exhibition facility resulted in high cognitive achievement and exhibitor's loyalty. Fifth, exhibition recognition is a highly influential factor to mediate exhibitor's cognitive achievement and exhibitors' loyalty. • This paper aims to highlight the importance of employee participation in green management in hotel firms. In particular, the study examined the role of employee participation in green management on cost saving as a hotel's performance indicator. We collected data from senior and general managers in Korean and US hotels. The results of the study supported our hypotheses, showing that the employee participation had a significantly positive relationship with cost savings in hotels. The results of the study also supported other hypotheses, showing that resource conservation and green building management had positive relationships with cost savings in hotels. Therefore, it can be predicted that green management can save cost in hotel firms. Such managerial implications are discussed.

  • In this article, I intend to analyze the definition of an employee under the Trade Union Act in Japan. Recently, the Supreme Court of Japan held that not only opera singer but also customer engineer is an employee under the Act. Conclusions are as follows:First, it is noteworthy that the Supreme Court reaffirmed the principle of all circumstances established by CBC case. The case focused on deciding that who is an employee under the Act. Notwithstanding this holding of the Supreme Court, district courts and courts of appeals, in deciding this kind of question, have emphasized especially on the side of a legal right and obligation on a contract between an employer and a potential employee. Therefore an independent contractor has not been generally recognized as an employee under the Act. However, even though he or she was, as an independent contractor in name, offering its work to his or her putative employer, the Supreme Court applied the principle of all circumstances to both cases and held in favor on the workers on April, in 2011. Second, the Supreme Court failed to make a general legal principle for deciding that who is an employee under the Act. According to the above holdings of the Supreme Court, nobody can anticipate wether he or she is an employee or not in a concrete case. Finally, the Supreme Court did not also make its opinion clearly about the relations between an employee of the Section 3 of the Act and an employee whom an employer employs under the Section 7(2) of the Act. In conclusion, it can be said that the Supreme Court has narrowly and strictly interpreted an employee of the Section 3. That is to say, only where an employee is recognized as an employee of the Section 7(2), the employee will be also an employee of the Section 3. In Japan, however, the majority interprets that an employee by the Section 3 should be distinguished from the employee whom an employer employs by the Section 7(2). Consequently, according to the majority opinions, unemployed persons, students and citizens will be also included in the definition of an employee by the Section 3.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the occupational safety and health(OSH) state of precarious employee. Methods: The questionnaire of this survey is composed of 9 categories that are the workplace general information and the state of occupational injury and disease, OSH organization, OSH education and training. The subjects of this survey were the Manufacturing. The hypothesis of this study is where the proportion of precarious employee is higher, the OSH state is worse. To verify this hypothesis, we grouped the subjects into three categories by the proportion of precarious employee like as 0%(all standard employee), less than 30% and 30% or more. Using the SPSS 12.0 program to analyze the data, logistic regression analysis were implemented to find affective factors for the rate of occupational injury and disease. Results: 2,633 manufacturing workplaces were included for subjects. The proportions of precarious employee were 9.6 %. In manufacturing industry, about 70 % companies had no precarious employee. 16.8 % companies were in less than 30 % group, 13.2 % companies were in 30% or more group. For the rate of occupational injury and disease, the precarious group were 0.85(${\pm}1.8$), 1.19(${\pm}2.9$), 0.59(${\pm}1.1$). There was a trend that the higher precarious proportion groups was the higher rate of occupational injury and disease by the logistic regression analysis. It is more strong relationship than company size and OSH committee. Conclusions: We could find a significant result there was a positive relationship between the hiring proportion of precarious employee and the rate of occupational injury and disease in manufacturing industry with 50 employees and more.

Even the promotion chance can be made in the environment of creative and active working condition. Finally, the promotion chance can be realize not through the employee's attitude assuming the motivation factor to be difference from hygiene factor, but through keeping their work carried out in various activity.
