The topic I have chosen for presentation to you today is entitled, the theory of change in nursing practice or to put it into simpler words. How do new ideas in nursing get started - Where do they come from\ulcorner - How are these ideas spread through the social system of nurses\ulcorner - What makes some Directors of Nursing more ready to accept change than others\ulcorner What factors in-fluence than to introduce change\ulcorner The process of change has been the subject of considerable research in such diverse disciplines and fields as anthropology and rural sociology, marketing and, also, education, for many years. The studies are called“diffusion”studies, or sometimes“adoption”studies, or“adoption of innovation”studies. They deal specifically with the transmission of innovations to members of a social system, and are considered a subset of research in the general field of communication, Although a number of studies have been undertaken in medicine, and, in the past decade, numerous ones in education, there have been few studies on the process of change in nursing. Yet, nursing has undergone tremendous changes in the past 10 years - the nursing process has been introduced, there is the expanded role of the nurse which is rapidly becoming a regular mode of practice - and many, many more changes, We seem to be always running to try. to keep up with changes that have already taken place. Yet little is known about known about the process of change itself - how practitioners learn about new ideas and techniques, or about the factors which influence nurses to accept some changes and reject others. The purpose of the study I am about. to describe was to analyze the process of change as it functioned in regard to nursing innovations in a selected segment of Canadian hospitals, and to relate the analysis to general research and theory about information transmission and the acceptance of change. Three aspects of the process were investigated : 1. The flow of information about changes in nursing practice through a network of hospitals. 2. Factors influencing the adoption of changes in nursing practice. 3. Factors influencing delay in the adoption process, the rejection of changes, or their discontinuance following adoption.
In the era of disruptive change, a data-driven approach is vital to Human Resource Management (HRM) of any leading organization, for it is used to gain a competitive advantage. HR analytics (HRA) has emerged as innovative technologies since advanced analytics, i.e., predictive or prescriptive analytics, were widely used in the High Performing Organizations (HPOs). Therefore, many organizations elevate themselves to become HPOs through Data Science on the "people side." This paper proposes a systematic literature review using the Literature Weighted Scoring (LWS) to develop a conceptual framework based on three adoption theories, which are the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE), Diffusion of Innovation (DOI), and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The results show that a total of 13 theory-derived factors are determined as influential factors affecting HRA adoption, and the top three factors are "Quantitative Self-Efficacy," "Top Management Support," and "Data Availability." The conceptual framework with hypotheses is proposed to provide a foundation for further studies on organizational HRA adoption.

With the growth of information and communication technologies adoption in construction projects, it could be anticipated that more property owners and construction firms will attempt to use electronic gears and gadgets for site monitoring or surveillance purposes. As the construction workers may be the major group of project team members being monitored, from managerial perspectives and for ethical reasons, it is essential to investigate their degree of acceptance on site monitoring systems. Indeed studies on office workplace monitoring suggest that a monitoring system could shape or control the behaviors of employees. With adequate refinements, their research models could be applicable in the construction industry. This paper presents a model for analyzing the antecedences that affect workers' acceptance level on electronic monitoring, and investigating if there is any behavioral change.

It has been found that users' characteristics are important variables that explain information systems adoption. These user groups, which are called COIs (Community Of Interests), might show different behaviors to each other to the same information system. We study differences in MDM (master data management) system adoption between military users and SI developers using TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). In case of military users, the perceived usefulness of an MDM system does not have impacts on intention to use an MDM system. Only the ease of use of an MDM system has impacts on intention to use an MDM system. However, in case of SI developers, both the perceived usefulness and the ease of use of an MDM system have impacts on intention to use an MDM system, which are similar to findings in previous studies. These results might be interpreted that users do not pay much attention to the usefulness in adopting a new information system in a centralized organization. They are obligated to use an information system whether it is useful or not. Thus the ease of use has more impacts on users than the usefulness.
The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) presented by Davis (1989) has been regarded as highly explanatory as well as the clearest model in explaining consumers' adoption of innovative technology or products. Existing studies have expanded the model by adding related external variables to improve the explanation depending on the type of innovative technology. This study expanded TAM by adding two more variables, namely consumers' technology innovation and clothing involvement considering the feature of smart clothing. The objectives of this study are as follows: 1. to suggest the extended TAM in explaining the adoption process of smart clothing, 2. to verify the differences in the path hypotheses according to the type of smart clothing. A total of 815 effective samples were collected from adults over 20 years old, and AMOS 5.0 package was employed for data analysis. As a result, it was proved that the extended TAM was appropriate for explaining the process of adopting smart clothing according to the path hypotheses of smart clothing types. Technology innovation and clothing involvement were confirmed as antecedent variables in affecting TAM. The perceived usefulness appeared to be a more crucial variable than the perceived ease of use and attitude was found to be an important parameter in adopting smart clothing. Considering the path hypotheses of MP3 playing clothes, perceived usefulness had a direct influence on acceptance intention unlike other types of smart clothing. As for photonic clothes, the influence of perceived ease of use on attitude was supported while it was rejected in the case of MP3 playing clothes and sensing sportswear.
Information systems that are not used cannot be useful. In order to increase user acceptance, it is necessary to understand why people accept or reject information systems. Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) is one of the most influential research models for studying determinants how users accept information systems. Recently, Knowledge Management Systems(KMS) have become important components of corporate systems as the foundation of industrialized economics has shifted from natural resources to knowledge assets. This paper applies TAM to investigate users' acceptance of KMS in public administration institutions. It sampled 182 users who had experience in using KMS. Many empirical researches have suggested that TAM can be integrated with other organizational theories to improve its predictive and explanatory ower. We extended the basic TAM by the integration of appraisal and reward satisfaction theory. There are many external variables that influence the perception and the belief of system users. We introduced two external variables(job characteristics, IT self-efficacy) and one additional perception variable, perceived appraisal and reward(PAR) in the basic TAM model. The LISREL model analysis is used for finding out the causality among variables and testing the model fitness. As result, The IT self-efficacy influences to the perceived ease of use(PEOU) and the PAR, and the PEOU influences directly to the perceived usefulness(PU), the PAR, and the attitude toward KMS. The KMS participation intention(PI) was influenced by the PAR and the attitude directly,andbythePEOUindirectly. Finally, this paper suggests some guidelines for the adoption of KMS in public sectors on the basis of the study results.

Electronic Records Management System (ERMS) is a computer program or set of applications that is utilized for keeping up to date records along with their storage. ERMS has been extensively utilized for enhancing the performance of academic institutions. The system assists in the planning and decision-making processes, which in turn enhances the competencies. However, although ERMS is significant in supporting the process of decision-making, the majority of organizations have failed to take an initiative to implement it, taking into account that are some implementing it without an appropriate framework, and thus resulted in the practice which does not meet the accepted standard. Therefore, this study identifies the factors influencing the adoption of ERMS among employees of HLI in Yemen and the role of such adoption in the decision-making process, using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) along with Technology, Organization and Environment (TOE) as the underpinning theories. The study conducts a cross-sectional survey with a questionnaire as the technique for data collection, distributed to 364 participants in various Yemeni public Higher Learning Institutions (HLI). Using AMOS as a statistical method, the findings revealed there are significant and positive relationships between technology factors (effort expectancy, performance expectancy, IT infrastructure and security), organizational factors (top management support, financial support, training, and policy),environmental factors (competitiveness pressure, facilitating conditions and trust) and behavioral intention to adopt ERMS, which in return has a significant relationship with the process of decision-making in HLI. The study also presents a variety of theoretical and empirical contributions that enrich the body of knowledge in the field of technology adoption and the electronic record's domain.
RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technologies enjoy an enormous interest in all throughout the world, not only from the research but also from corporate practice. Although bar code is gradually substituted with RFID technology, the use of RFID technology in the companies is at the early stages and it's potential value isn't fully realized yet. RFID-related-trust is needed to solve these problems because these phenomena are related to uncertainties or risks disturbing RFID diffusion. This paper focuses on trust in the adoption of RFID and analyzes the effect to RFID technology acceptance of trust. This paper proposes 5 second constructs of trust; institutional trust, trust between companies, trust within company, technology trust, and service provider trust. In order to analyze some relationships between trust variable and 4 variables in TAM, structural equation modeling(SEM) is developed and SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 7.0 are used for analyses.
Purpose This study reviews technology acceptance research in the information system area and consumer behavior research in the marketing area, sets characteristics of convergence products, personality of consumers and communication channels as main concepts and demonstrates their effects on 'relative level of attraction' and 'intent to adoption. Design/methodology/approach The survey was conducted against potential consumers who have the intent to purchase electric communication media products that provides a variety of functions and service, such as a smart TV, a tablet PC and a smart watch. All items were adapted from previous literature and revised as appropriate the purpose of this study and measured on a 7-point Likert scale with answer choices ranging from "strongly disagree" (1) to (7) "strongly agree." Totally, 300 respondents participated in the survey. Out of the 276 respondents, incomplete or invalid 24 were discarded. With them, SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 20.0 for structural equation modeling were used for the analysis. Findings Main findings are as followed;- First, it is found that 'interrelationship of technology' and 'functional diversification' of convergence products has positive effects on relative level of attraction. Second, perceived behavior control has significant effects on the intent to adoption convergence products. Third, communication through mass media has positive effects on making potential consumers feel attraction about products while there is no relationship with the intent to a. On the other hands, it is demonstrated that there is no relationship influential relationship between communication through interpersonal channels and relative level of attraction while communication through interpersonal channels has significant effects on the intent to adoption.
Virtual community(VC) will increasingly be organized as commercial enterprises, with the objective of earning an attractive financial return by providing members with valuable resources and environment. For example, Cyworld.com in Korea uses several community services to enable customers of Cyworld to take control of their own value as potential purchasers of products and services. Although initial adoption is important for online network service success, it does not necessarily result in the desired managerial performance unless the initial usage is continuously related to the continuous usage and purchase. Particularly, the customer who receives relevant online services and is well equipped with online network services, will trust the online service provider and perceive less risk and experience more activities such as continuous usage and purchase. Thus, how to promote continued online service usage or, alternatively, how to prevent discontinuance is a critical issue for VC service providers to consider. By aggregating a wide range of information and online environments for customers and providing trust to its members, the service providers of virtual communities help to reduce the perceived risk of continuous usage and purchase. Drill down, online service managers realize that achieving strong and sustained customers who continuously use online service and purchase on it is crucial. Therefore, the research into this online service continuance will identify the relationship between the initial usage and the continuous usage and purchase. The research of continuous usage or post adoption has recently emerged as an important issue in the IS literature. Individuals' information systems(IS) continuous usage decisions are congruent with consumers' repeat purchase decisions. The TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) paradigm has been strongly confirmed across a wide range from product purchase on EC to online service usage contexts. The analysis of IS usage based on TAM has proven to be successful across almost online service contexts. However, most of previous studies have focused on only an area (i.e., VC or EC). Just little research has tried to analyze the relationship between VC and EC. The effect of some factors on user intention, captured through several theories such as TAM, has been demonstrated. Yet, few studies have explored the salient relationships of VC users' EC acceptance. To fill this gap between VC and EC research, this paper attempts to develop a research model that extends the TAM perspective in view of the additional contributions of trust in the service provider and trust in members on some factors that affect EC and VC adoption. In this extension, we applied the TAM-to-TAM(T2T) model, and analyzed the transfer effect of trust between these two TAMs. The research model was empirically tested on the context of a social network service. The model was to extend TAM with the trust concept for the virtual community environment from the perspective of tasks. By building an extended model of TAM and examining the relationships between trust and the existing variables of TAM, it is aimed to explain a user's continuous intention to use VC and purchase on EC. The unit of analysis in this paper is an individual user of a virtual community. The population of interest is the individual with the experiences in virtual community. The data for this paper was made available via a Web survey of VC users. In total, 281 cases were gathered for about one week, but there were some missing values in the sample and there were some inappropriate cases. Thus, only 248 cases were finally analyzed. We chose the structural equation analysis to test the hypotheses and it is better suited for explaining complex relationships than the other methods. In this test, AMOS was used to test the Structural Equation Model (SEM). Noticeable results have been found in the T2T model regarding the factors affecting the intention to use of virtual community and loyalty. Our result showed that trust transfer plays a key role in forming the two adoption beliefs. Overall, this study preliminarily confirms the salience of trust transfer in online service.
