Purpose: This study tested the effectiveness of brochure- and video-based education on managing surgical site infections by operating room health personnel. Methods: From April 20 to May 4, 2021, 34 operating room health personnel were subjected to training on surgical site infection management using brochures and educational videos. A survey was then conducted on knowledge, perception, and adherence regarding surgical site infection management. Results: After receiving training on surgical site infection management, the knowledge score increased significantly (15.15±2.09 vs.19.70±1.96, p<.001). However, the perception and adherence scores were already near perfect before the intervention and did not further increase after the intervention. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop and utilize continuous and substantive educational programs to improve perception and adherence of surgical site infection management.
Providing care to the dementia elderly with behavioral problem is a major issue in nursing homes today. This study was aimed to explore the nursing staffs′ response to aggressive dementia patients, and the effect that the aggressive behavior had on Nsgstaff. The interviews used a semi-structured questionnaire are were carried out from May to July, 1999. The subjects were 23 nursing personnel working in the nursing homes for dementia elderly. The result are as follows; 1. The types of aggressive behavior cited by the subjects was "physical", "linguistic", and "sexual". 2. The factors that caused the behavior were "symptoms of disease", "under- conditioning", "context of nursing care", "unsatisfied need", "relationship to other patients", "change of outer environment", and "invasion of one′s own privacy". 3. The response of the subjects were "unhappiness", "stress", "anger", "exaggeration", "anxiety", and "fear". 4. The management strategies listed by nursing personnel used to alleviate aggressive behavior were "ignorance" "patience" "leaving the area" "soothing sounds" "verbal punishment" "restriction and isolation" and "various management skill appliance" "adaptation". 5. The effect that aggressive behavior and were "disturbance of relationship to elderly" "decline in the amount and quality of nursing care" "interruption of task performance" "job exhaustion" "desire to leave the job" "physical impact" "stress on the cognition of others" "anxiety about health and one own future" "interference to family life′. The findings of this study will be useful in understanding the difficulties of nursing personnel when confronting the aggressive behavior of dementia partients. It also is useful as basic data in preparing efficient intervention program for these difficulties.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing neonatal pain management by nurses in order to provide evidence-based data for the development of more efficient neonatal pain care programs. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design to survey 204 registered nurses working in neonatal intensive care units and nurseries in Busan. Data collection was done from July to September 2010. General knowledge of pain and pain scale, pain intervention, neonatal pain management, and barriers to pain management were measured. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 17.0. Results: it was found that among the factors affecting neonatal pain management by nurses, the unit where the nurse worked was the most important influential factor, followed by knowledge of pain management, education level, and barriers from medical personnel in that order. The explanatory power of these four variables accounted for 42.0% of neonatal pain management. Conclusion: Study results indicate that it is necessary to develop education programs to increase knowledge of neonatal pain management for nurses caring for neonates. Also, plans for reduction of obstacle factors in medical personnel should be prepared.
It has been 2 years since the implementation of the separation of prescription and drug dispensing policy. This study analyzes the effects of the policy on the job contents and personnel structure of hospital pharmacy. The main purposes of the analysis are to determine if the policy has causes the increase of professional activities of pharmacists in hospital and to investigate whether the hospital pharmacy is equipped with enough manpower to provide high quality pharmaceutical service as intended by the policy. The level of professionality of pharmacists' activities is measured by the number of activities of direct involvement in inpatient care such as participation in patient rounding, medication consultation, the number of hospital committee the pharmacists involved and the number of continuous education pharmacists took. The adequacy of personnel structure to provide high quality pharmaceutical care is measured by the level of compliance to the governmental standard of hospital pharmacy personnel. In order to collect the data, surveys were performed for two periods: year 1999 (before the implementation of the policy) and year 2001 (after the implementation of the policy). The results show that the pharmacists' participation in inpatient rounding decreased and that the inpatient medication history management activities, operation of ward pharmacy, participation in hospital committee increased. In personnel structure, the average number of pharmacist per hospital decreased and the number of prescription processing per pharmacist increased. Based on the results this study concludes that the professional activities of hospital pharmacists has increased a little and there were structural changes in hospital pharmacy service activities to increase the professionalism in providing care. However, the pharmacy departments were understaffed hampering the strive to increase the provision of professional pharmaceutical service in hospitals.
This study intends to closely examine an evaluation of effectiveness of the HRM associated with interactions among employees(I), purpose recognition(P), role feedbacks(R), and motivative compensation(M). The following is a summary of the results of this research: From the study of the actual situation of the human resource management by the Korean firms, it appeared that the form of existence of vision systems possessed the form of having been written as documents and co-shared. And, although, in the area of motivation endowment and feedbacks, the level of motivation endowment regarding the comprising member by those in charge of departments and the level of reflection of the company's personnel policies in the execution of work by the departments were ordinary, the level of presenting the opinion of the departments regarding the company's personnel policies was shown to be low. And, the decisive elements of wages and the compensation standard were in the order of performance basis and long service. Also, it was analyzed that the leadership style of the CEO is the most important element that influences human resource management policies. And, it was analyzed that in the evaluation of the human resource management area the roles regarding evaluation and compensation, especially, the mutual interactions of the comprising members, feedbacks, and improvement activities are inadequate. And the managerial implications are discussed.

An organization must restructure itself once it makes outsourcing decisions. Outsourcing is a strategy that a company adopts to direct internal efforts into strengthening its core business processes while contracting other companies for strategically less critical tasks thereby improving organizational production efficiency, and the strategy inevitably involves organizational restructuring. While public service organizations have increasingly embraced outsourcing as well, only a handful of studies analyze the change in efficiency from organizational restructuring. Therefore, this study uses Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) to test whether efficiency improved in Korea Expressway Corporation's restructured branch offices. Korea Expressway Corporation evaluated and grouped its branches based on road extensions management, traffic volume, the number of snow days, road deterioration, and the number of junctions to differentially allocate its personnel and budget. The extent of efficiency improvement in each group was compared, and results show that inefficiency did not exist in any of the groups. The efficiency index among the three group categories was similar across the board; 9 offices in the A-group with its expanded personnel and budget had an efficiency index of 0.954, 12 offices in the B-group with unchanged personnel and budget conditions had an index of 0.950, and 12 offices in the C-group with reduced personnel and budget had an index of 0.937. SFA facilitates efficiency analyses because it does not require pre-restructuring data. This study is easy to apply in practice and empirically tests efficiency improvement in organizational restructuring based on data collected from all the branch offices in Korea Expressway Corporation.
Purpose: The purposes of the study were to evaluate dietitian's practices for sustainability management and identify barriers of sustainability management at school foodservice. Methods: A total of 220 dietitians working in Daejeon and Chungnam area were surveyed. 187 responses were analyzed for the study. Data were analyzed using SPSS Windows. Results: The respondents were 36% in their 20 s, 38% in their 30 s, 39.6% in elementary schools, 33.7% in middle schools and 26.4% in high schools. Among dietitian's practices for sustainability management, the item with the highest self-evaluation was purchase eco-friendly food (3.75). The category with the highest score was procurement (3.52), by waste management (3.48), production (3.39), menu management (3.36), facility and energy management (3.20), personnel management (3.18), and nutrition education (3.04). In the area of menu management, production management, facility and energy management, nutrition education, and personnel management, scores of elementary school working dietitians were the highest, followed by middle school and high school (p<0.001). The most perceived factor for barriers to sustainability management was principal's indifference to sustainability management (4.10 out of 5 points). ietitian's sustainability management practices and barriers showed a negative correlation. Conclusion: It is necessary to dietitians, employees, and principals' awareness about sustainability management in order to perform effective sustainable management school foodservice.
The speed of change on information technology is very fast, so it demands a continuous competency development in IT human resource management. If the competency development for IT personnel can not keep up with the change of Technology, IT personnel cannot accomplish their IT job under new IT environment. For this reason, many companies have tried to manage IT organization separately and IT job system on the technology basis. Although the training of IT is different from that of other field in feature, few studies about IT human resources system have been conduced. Therefore this study focuses on the training system of IT personnel and suggests the framework for institutionalizing the operation policy and the individual process through a case study methodology. This paper chose one company as a case study which implemented the training system of IT personnel recently, and the proposed framework based on the literature review from this study applied to a company. The study shows that IT job system needs to be reasonably established, job descriptions should be appropriate to IT job, and there exist two training paths according to two career path - Specialist and Generalist. For the purpose of high performance in IT division, the training manager should understand IT job system, the people who need training, and keep an eye on the IT trends and new IT skills.

The management system using the current RFID technology has the effects of reducing working hours and improvement in data processing, but it is not proper for human resource allocation since it is dominantly worked for physical resources. In this paper, we analyzed personnel control system using RFID of diverse environment and kinds of design in ship which analyzes presents of a monitoring system for safety operation and increase of efficiency in order to overcome the limitations and problems of current personnel operation management techniques using RFID.
This study was designed firstly to measure the job satisfaction (JS) levels of personnel engaged in contract food-service management company (CFMC), secondly to compare the job satisfaction levels by personal and company-related characteristics, and thirdly to identify the effects of JS facets on overall job satisfaction. Of 1135 respondents, there were 712 employees in the headquarters and 423 in the branch office. From an analysis on job satisfaction, overall job satisfaction level was 3.22 out of a maximum 5 and the co-worker (3.71) facet of JS was the highest job satisfaction followed by supervision (3.32), work itself (3.26), working condition (3.15), promotion (2.95) and payroll (2.74). In comparison of job satisfaction by personal characteristics, the personnel who were male (p < .01), had associate degrees (p < .01) or long-term careers in foodservice field (p < .05), or were regular employees (p < .01) perceived significantly higher than others for overall JS. In comparison of the job satisfaction by company-related characteristics, overall JS was significant by company scale (p < .01) and by work place (p < .05), but it was not significant by operating group. Finally, on the regression analysis for the effects of JS facets on overall JS, adjusted R2 was 0.534 (p < .001) and all six JS facets, especially payroll, had a positive effect on overall JS significantly (p < .001). Considering that the goal of enterprise on profit-making through customer satisfaction (CS) and the role of personnel on CS at moment of thrust (MOT), the findings confirmed the necessity for continuous internal marketing and human relation management focusing on the lower level of JS facets.
