Photo-assisted wet chemical etching of GaN thin film was studied using KOH based solutions. A $2{\mu}m-2{\mu}m$ titanium line-and-space pattern was used as a etching mask. It is found that the etching characteristics of the GaN thin film is strongly dependent on the pattern direction by unisotropic property of KOH based solution. When the pattern was aligned to the [$11\bar{2}0$] directions, ($10\bar{1}n$)-facet is revealed constructing V-shaped sidewalls.

Many problems in IT outsourcing service industry of Korea are rooted in the idiosyncratic structure of the industry. This structure causes the unique characteristics of service level management, service delivery methodology, and contracts. This study looks into the status of the industry, vendors, and markets of IT outsourcing and proposes some of relevant research topics of each area respectively.

North-South Korean information technology(IT) terminologies are going to be gradually changed differently as the time is flowed. In accordance with the age of advanced information science and technology, the IT terminologies should be mutually identified and confirmed on the basis of ISO2382 Korean standardization being set up for the international IT terminologies made by the scholars both Republic of Korea(ROK) and Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea(DPRK). In the present study, the results of mutual efforts on IT standardization since 1994 has been firstly analyzed systematically for the advanced North-South Korean IT terminology. Secondly, the differences of the IT terminologies used currently in both ROK and DPRK have been also analyzed and classified in the three categories. Thirdly, the current IT terminologies used in both ROK and DPRK have been summarized on the basis of "Encyclopedia of 21 Century Computer Terminology." Fourth, it has been finally set up the construction scheme of conceptual system on compiling operations for the dictionary of North-South Korean IT terminologies.

In this paper, a revitalization plan for IT education was studied. Currently, IT industry is the most important field of the export industry in korea. But IT education in korea has been neglected. To grasp the demand of students and parents for IT education, a survey was conducted. A majority of students and parents agree with opinion that should be strengthened IT education at school. Also, a majority of students and parents agree with a plan to set up special purpose high school for IT education. In this paper, a revitalization plan for IT education is proposed according to result of survey. It is expected to help the breeding gifted young man for IT.

As Korea's global IT sourcing is sluggish and supply of qualified IT personnel does not meet the demand, IT developers currently do not worry about their job security. The sluggish global sourcing is attributed to the lack of system design and analysis skills as well as lack of communication skills of IT personnel. Most of big Korean IT service firms operate in captive market. This is also attributed to the cause of the sluggish global sourcing. Some IT managers, especially in global IT service firms, concerned about the negative long term effect of the sluggish global sourcing on competitiveness and human infra capability of Korea's IT service industry. Managers in IT service firms expect skill requirement changes in the future when global sourcing becomes active. The skills and knowledge that they wish to retain in-house is business knowledge, system analysis and design knowledge, customer relation management skills, project management skills and industry knowledge. The jobs with the above knowledge usually involve customers.

우리나라를 IT 선도국가로 우뚝 세울 '유비쿼터스 IT코리아 포럼(Ubiquitous IT Korea Forum,약칭 u-Korea 포럼)'이 지난달 15일 공식 출범했다. 이날 창립총회에서는 오길록 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)원장이 u-Korea 포럼 초대의장으로 한국네트워크연구조합 최승태 전무가 감사로 각각 선임됐다. 또 실질적인 포럼 운영을 위해 이성국 u-Korea 포럼 준비위원장(ETRI 정보화기술연구소장)과 유한용 삼성종합기술원 전무, 장성환 KT 경영연구소장, 오해석 숭실대학교 교수, 한수용 SK 경영경제연구소 상무 등이 참여하는 운영위원회도 구성 됐다.u-Korea 포럼의 초대 의장으로 선임된 오길록 ETRI 원장을 만나 유비쿼터스 사회의 특징과 이를 위한 각계의 역할에 대해 들어보는 시간을 가졌다.

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze the trade structure and competitiveness of China's information technology (IT) industry in comparison to that of Korea and the United States, particularly in terms of quality. Design/methodology/approach - Indices such as trade specialization index (TSI), Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), and Market Comparative Advantage (MCA) are used. Further, an Intra-industry Trade (IIT) index is used to analyze qualitative changes in horizontal intra-industry trade and intra-industry trade of high- and low-quality goods. Findings - China's IT industry has a comparative competitive advantage over that of Korea and the United States, and mainly exports goods of inferior quality and imports goods of superior quality. Further, China's horizontal intra-industry trade has been decreasing, while its vertical intra-industry trade has been increasing and vertical trade of inferior quality goods outweighs that of superior quality goods. This shows that China is rapidly catching up with Korea and the United States, even though its qualitative competitiveness has not significantly improved. Research limitations/implication - This study has academic and political implications, as it analyzes changes in China's IT trade competitiveness. However, it is somewhat limited as factors determining qualitative aspects has not been considered. Originality/value - Most studies aggregate analyses of export competitiveness using methodologies such as TSI, RCA, and market share. However, the focus of these methods is price competitiveness. Hence, an examination of the objective and qualitative trade competitiveness of China's IT industry is necessary. this study the trade structure and quantitative competitiveness of the industry by analyzing intra-industry trade focusing on the quality of competitiveness. Therefore, the changes in China's IT industry in the USA and Korea and in foreign trade competitiveness and quality competitiveness are clarified. The results show that the academic and policy implications of these changes in the IT industry will be a useful resource. This is the first study in Korea to attempt such an analysis. This paper discussed about business ethics and innovation management performance of IT service firms in Korea. To prove empirically the research hypothesis, the statistical analysis was based on the response from the 92 IT Service firms in Korean. As analysis results, it was found that the business ethics of organizations were the effect factors of the innovation management performance. And the knowledge competency and creativity are confirmed as a mediator between the business ethics and innovation management performance. So this paper suggests that business ethics in organizations are the important factor for enhancement of IT service firm's innovation performance. Specially the mediation effects of knowledge competency and creativity variables were proved empirically for the relation between the business ethics and innovation management performance. So it is desirable that knowledge-based service firms, for example IT service firms, have to strive to upgrade their level of business ethics and to link with their creativity and knowledge competency.

IT has contributed much to Korea's economic growth and has helped the innovation of social paradigm. It helps the improvement of productivity, efficiency, convenience and communication, and also helps the critical changes of life style. IT convergence with other technologies or industries has appeared and it promotes new changes and innovations. It is the convergence of IT advancement and other areas of technology development, and it promotes and creates new industries. In major countries, including Korea, the resources and capabilities has focused selectively into this new industry. In this paper, we try to study IT integration strategy and technology development trends and to evaluate the level of IT integration capabilities in Korea based on experts survey results. In the conclusion, we suggest some Strategic Recommendations for developing and leading the new IT Convergence industries.
