  • Iron-based superconductors (IBSs) possess nematic phases in which rotational symmetry of the electronic structure is spontaneously broken. This novel phase has attracted much attention as it is believed to be closely linked to the superconductivity. However, observation of the symmetry broken phase by using a macroscopic experimental tool is a hard task because of naturally formed twin domains. Here, we report on a novel detwinning method by using a magnetic field on FeTe single crystal. Detwinning effect was measured by resistivity anisotropy using the Montgomery method. Our results show that FeTe was detwinned at 2T, which is a relatively weak field compared to the previously reported result. Furthermore, detwinning effect is retained even when the field is turned off after field cooling, making it an external stimulation-free detwinning method.

  • Device Description that is described as C-based DDL(Device Description Language) should be provided for the control system to use the progressive function of field device in the distributed control system. DD expresses field device function itself and parameter. DD is used to set a necessary function far a control strategy in the central control system. DD technology which was adopted as international standard IEC 61804-Part 2 is being used in PROFIBUS, Foundation Fieldbus and HART. However, the DD is dependent to the fieldbus and it doesn't have a suitable form in the industrial Ethernet. This paper presents the possibility of a change from EDD(Electronic Device Description) and GSD(General Slave Data) used for integrating field devices to XDD(XML for Device Description) and verifies it's effectiveness. Also, this paper presents research assignment on the XML application in the distributional system from now on by examining the possibility of Ethernet`s development in the industrial area.

  • DLC(Diamond-Like Carbon) films were prepared by Inductively Coupled Plasma(ICP) CVD system. It was confirmed that the field emission characteristics are closely related to the richness of C-H bonding incorporated in the DLC. According to Fowler-Nordheim equation, it is thought that the ability of DLC to emit electron at relatively low voltage is due to the field enhancement caused by the nodules of ${\sim}100nm$ size on the surface of DLC. The electric field to start field emission was about $1.4{\times}10^9V/m$ in case of DLC film deposited at input power of 400W and substrate bias of -100V.

  • In magnetic field analysis of electrical machines, hysteresis phenomena of B-H curves should be taken into account in order to obtain more accurate results. In this paper, the hysteresis modeling using the micromagnetics for the magnetic field analysis is investigated. In the micromagnetics, usually, it takes much CPU times. Therefore, the method for representing hysteresis phenomena by minimum modeling is investigated in order to applying it to the magnetic field analysis. First, the micromagnetics is described. Then, the method of minimum modeling is shown. Finally, the hysteresis curve obtained by the minimum modeling is demonstrated. The effect of parameters of micromagnetics on the shape of hysteresis curve is investigated.

  • It has been proved by the semi-classical gauge invariant formulation (GIF) that the correct interaction operator for coupling the field-free material states with the radiation field must be the position form regardless of the gauge chosen for expressing the electromagnetic potentials, in accordance with the well-established principle of gauge invariance. The semi-classical GIF is now extended to the quantized radiation field interacting with matter by defining the energy operator for the quantized radiation field in the presence of matter. It will be shown in this paper that the use of the energy operator guarantees the position form of the interaction operator even in the Coulomb gauge, contrary to the conventional approach in which the dark material Hamiltonian is used to get the interaction operator of the momentum form. The multipolar Hamiltonian is examined in the context of the quantum mechanical gauge transformation.

  • This paper harnesses a micropolar thermoelastic medium consisting of voids to scrutinize the impacts of a magnetic field on it. To assess the problem, the three-phase-lag model (3PHL) has been employed and the analytical expressions of various variables under consideration have been derived using normal model analysis. The paper presents a graphical illustration of the material's stress, temperature, and dimensionless displacement. It has also been ensured that the predictions associated with results by different theories are not neglected instead; they are used to carry out appropriate comparisons in scenarios where the magnetic field is present as well as absent. The numerical results indicate that the magnetic field and the phase-lag of heat flux play a vital role in determining the distribution of field quantities. Thus, the investigation helped derive various interesting cases.

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been considered as one of the promising candidate for next-generation field emitters because of their unique properties, such as high field enhancement factor, good mechanical strength, and excellent chemical stability. So far, a lot of researchers have been interested in field emission properties of CNT itself. However, it is necessary to study proper field emitter shapes, as well as the fundamental properties of CNTs, to apply CNTs to real devices. For example, specific applications, such as x-ray sources, e-beam sources, and microwave amplifiers, need to get a focused electron beam from the field emitters. If we use planar-typed CNT emitters, it will need several focal lenses to reduce a size of electron beam. On the other hand, the point-typed CNT emitters can be an effective way to get a focused electron beam using a simple technique. Here, we introduce a fabrication of CNT fibers with nanoscale point tips which can be used as a point-typed emitter. The emitter made by the CNT fibers showed very low turn-on electric field, high current density, and large enhancement factor. In addition, it showed stable emission current during long operation period. The high performance of CNT point emitter indicated the potential e-beam source candidate for the applications requiring small electron beam size.

  • Field-associated Terms itself have field Information. So, they determine field of document just like when human being perceives field. In case of Korean, we organized and experimented them by collecting approximately IS,999 document banks that are classified into 180 fields. We obtained high precision of extraction that 88,782 single field-associated terms are contracted into 8,405 ones thus recording compression rate as approximately 9$\%$ and recall as above 0.77 (average 0.85), precision as above 0.90 (average 0.94). By applying established field-associated terms to initial determination for document classification and comparing it with filed determination by human being, we got correct answers above approximately 90$\%$. We can use results of research as fundamental research for initial stage and apply it document retrieval between multilingual environment thus utilizing it as fundamental research for multilingual information retrieval.
