  • Complex-cultural facilities in the contemporary era are significantly influenced by the anti-modernism and space relativism movement of the 20th century. Complex-cultural facilities have the complex-layered space. In many contemporary buildings, this complex-layered space has void center space within it which primarily functions as indoor plaza. This study pays attention to the fact that the design of indoor plaza has developed differently in Europe and the US, which vividly demonstrates spatial relativism in contemporary buildings. With this backdrop, I analyze the architectural and cultural backgrounds of indoor plaza in Europe and the US. In addition, I examine the cultural functions and visual interpretation of indoor plaza in the regions to compare the design features and functionality.

  • The states, inputs, outputs and parameters of a complex-system are all complex values. The introduction of such complex systems makes it more suitable to treat not only the robust control but also the pole assignment in the separate regions. The relation called "equivalence in the discrete sense" is introduced to define a complex-system corresponding to a real-system with real-axis poles as well as complex conjugate poles. The relation between the feedback-control laws of the equivalent systems in the discrete sense are derived so that their closed-loop systems should hold the equivalence in the discrete sense.ete sense.

  • In this study, the characteristic of offensive major odorous compound from the Bon-San industrial complex in Gimhae were determined by analytical methods of Gas Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography and UV/VIS Spectrophotometer. The kind of major odorous compounds examined acetaldehyde, sulfur compounds, ammonia and styrene. The concentration of all odorous compounds at 3 sampling points of industrial complex were lower than those of regulation standard levels of the industrial complex in Korea. The mean concentration of hydrogen sulfide was 0.0235 ppm at sampling point 2, it was higher than other sampling point. Complex odors was lower than regulation standard levels of the industrial complex in Korea.

  • In this study, a diagnostic wind model, CALMET and a micrometeorological numerical model, ENVI-MET were used to analyze the wind field in and out of the site designated for the industrial complex around Buron-myeon, Wonju, Gangwon-do. The results of modeling with CALMET showed that the air flow in industrial complex was little affected by the surrounding terrain. And the result of wind field analysis with ENVI-MET showed there are turbulent air flows such as cavity and wake around structures in the industrial complex, which can cause high-air pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to design the industrial complex considering the wind path according to wind directions.

  • This paper represents the new techniques for optimal sampling plans of reliability applying the mathematical complex number(real and imaginary number) in the complex system of reliability. The research formulation represent a mathematical model Which preserves all essential aspects of the main and auxiliary factors of the research objectives. It is important to formule the problem in good agreement with the objective of the research considering the main and auxilary factors which affect the system performance. This model was repeatedly tested to determine the required statistical chatacteristics which in themselves determine the actual and standard distributions. The evaluation programs and techniques are developed for establishing criteria for sampling plans of reliability effectiveness, and the evaluation of system performance was based on the complex stochastic process(derived by the Runge-Kutta method. by kolmogorv's criterion and the transform of a solution to a Sturon-Liouville equation.) The special structure of this mathematical model is exploited to develop the optimal sampling plans of reliability in the complex system.

  • The removal efficiency of cadmium by chitosan complex isolated from Aspersillus oryzae was investigated through laboratory experiments. The results of the study are as follows. The adsorption kinetics of cadmium was reached the adsorption equilibrium in approximately 20 minutes and the removal efficiency was showed 95.8%. The effect of temperature on cadmium adsorption by chitosan complex shows that as the temperature increased, the amount of cadmium adsorption per unit weight of chitosan complex increased. The correlation between amount of cadmium adsorption per unit weight of chitosan complex and temperature was obtained through the coefficient of determination($R^2$). $R^2$ values was 0.854(p<0.05). A linearized Freundlich equation was used to fit the acquired experimental data. As a result, Freundlich constant, the adsorption intensity(1/n) was 0.550, and the measure of adsorption(k) was 2.181. So, it was concluded that adsorption of cadmium by chitosan complex is effective.

  • In the case that high-rise building is constructed, the surrounding wind velocity increase more than 50~100%. From this cause, many wind environmental problems can be occurred. For example, ordinary wind environmental disaster may be occurred in a region, or walking disturbed. In developed countries including USA, EU, and Japan, many efforts have been made for building wind prevention by grasping previously the effects before building constructed. But, We are bearing risk of wind environmental disaster because we have not enough recognition about building wind, and have not architectural prevention counterplans. This study aims to examine wind environmental characteristics of domestic apartment complex, and effective architectural counterplans. As the basic stage for this, we investigated pre-estimate tools and risk assessment methods of building wind in apartment complex, applied to two apart complex in Cheon-An region by CFD. As the result, serious damages were not presented. But, it is obvious that various architectural counterplans will be presented by this example researches.

  • Sound intensity distributions and energy flow in the near field of dipole source system and flat plate were investigated. First, the effectiveness of complex acoustic intensity was proved by using mathmatical and experimental methods in order to indentify noise sources and transmission paths of dipole field which is effected by the presence of neighbouring coherent sources. Next, analytical complex acoustic intensity method was discussed and the characteristics and energy flow of sound induced from the plate are clarified. The velocity of plate obtained from Finite Element Method was used for calculation of complex acoustic intensity in the near field. Finally experimental complex acoustic intensity method was applied to a passenger car. It can be seen that complex acoustic intensity method using both of active and reactive intensity is vital in devising a strategy for the identification and the reduction of vibration and noise.

  • This study explores the solution of a variety of conditions of the natural dyeing with the Mulberry. To obtain this, the Cu complex compound was added into the extracts. The Mulberry extract was added the Copper acetate to obtain the Black sediment the metal complex compound of anthocyanidin. According to the result of using the complex compound of the solid material, the dyeing properties were excellent. The metal complex compound acted as a mordant, thus it reduced the process of mordanting in the natural dying.

For this purpose, the field study has been conducted to the environment-friendly apartment complex in Korea and Japan. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) The basic concept of planning factors for environment-friendly apartment complex are natural harmony, improvement of residents' health & amenity, energy & resources saving and response to the social change. 2) For Japan, the planning factors and technical elements for the environment-friendly apartment complex were applied in the whole range of apartment complex with various and positive methods. For Korea, on the other hand, application of the planning factors of energy saving, resources saving and minimizing environment pollution was insufficient.
