  • This study examined the factors influencing the intention to use smartwatches using the integrated model of technology acceptance model (TAM) and innovation diffusion theory (IDT). An online survey was conducted and the data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that the research model had an acceptable fit, and all paths, except for the one from the perceived ease of use to the intention to use, were supported. Regarding paths from IDT to TAM, it was observed that higher the compatibility, the users perceived greater usefulness. Additionally, both observability and trialability influenced the perceived ease of use. However, perceived ease of use affected the intention only through the mediated effect of perceived usefulness. The implication of the study lies on the major focus on the effects of users' perceptions regarding innovative characteristics of smartwatches on the intention to adopt and attempted to increase the explanatory power of the TAM and IDT by combining both.

  • This study investigated what factors affect consumers' decision making concerning the adoption of smart TVs. For this purpose, the integrated adoption model that consists of six major constructs from the diffusion of innovation theory (DIT), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the model of innovation resistance(MIR) was employed. To collect data, an online survey was used. Data collected were analyzed with the structural equation model (SEM). Findings showed that the innovativeness has a positive influence on the both of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. It was also shown that both of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use affect the intention to use smart TVs in a positive way. The innovation resistance has a negative influence on the intention to use. The mediating role of the innovation resistance was also found. The implications of these results are discussed.

  • This paper presents a new approach to modify the traditional method for sampling inspectionby variables to suit undesired measurement conditions. On the basis of a systematic analysis of the effects of measurement errors on different types of acceptance schemes this paper gives two modified equations for revising the sampling size η and the acceptability constant $textsc{k}$ to form a new acceptance scheme (η'$textsc{k}$) under undesired measurement conditions. It has proved that the new method is suitable to different types of sampling inspection by variables including that for mean value and that for percent defective. The new acceptance scheme based on the proposed technique provides an engineering feasibility to replace the traditional scheme to suit undesired measurement conditions.

  • Wireless communication offers the flexibility to the node movement at the spatial dimension more than the wire communication not only in IP architecture but also in Content-Centric Networking. Although it gives such advantage, the intra-domain movement of a node especially the data source node affects the communication to the access point node which in the end affects the acceptance ratio of the client node that requests the data packets from the data source node. In this paper, we use time-division access method to maintain the acceptance ratio of the client node as the effect of the intra-domain data source node movement in Content-Centric Networking. The simulation result shows that the acceptance ratio of the client node can be maintained using the time-division access method as long as the interval access time is less than the coherence time.

  • This paper wants to suggest some issues on the acceptance of payment order in Electronic Funds Transfer of USA. The result can be summarized as fellows; First, originator's bank accepts a payment order when it executes the order. Secondly, beneficiary's bank accepts a payment order at the earliest of the following times: (1) when the bank pays the beneficiary as stated in Section 4A-405(a) or 4A-405(b), (2) when the bank notifies the beneficiary of receipt of the order or that the account of the beneficiary has been credited with respect to the order unless the notice indicates that the bank is rejecting the order or that funds with respect to the order may not be withdrawn or used until receipt of payment from of the order. (3) when the bank receives payment of the entire amount of the sender's order pursuant to Section 4A-403(a)(1) or 4A-403(a)(2). Lastly, the acceptance of a payment order cannot occur before the order is received by the receiving bank.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate as individuals how and why to accept web storage service. Using the Technology Adoption Model2 (TAM2) as methodological framework, this research tries to experiment an empirical background on the acceptance of behavioral changes of an individual sa to information technological advances. The findings of this study are different from TAM2 in terms of job relevance and output quality. However, according to other elements of TAM2 such as result demonstrability, subjective norm, image, this srudy also confirms positive relationships toward technological acceptance. Especially, subjective norms shows the strongest influential factors when adopting technological changes.

  • This research tested how the perceived risk and the trust affect the usage intention of the cloud computing. To this end, this research setups a research model and tests it with the statistic tools. In order to build the model, TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) and UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) were employed and, the factors such as the perceived risk, the trust and the intention of the cloud computing use were derived. This research finds that the perceived risk does not affect the intention of usage. Also the perceived risk has the negative effect for the trust. Thus this research has the following suggestions.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new equipment acceptance model in the industrial market and test it empirically using a field survey. To define new equipment acceptance factors of employees in the organization, we used the TAM as a useful model to analyze the acceptance process of new equipment. All of the data for the TAM were collected from the employees. Prior research studied the usage of general information technology using a computer and particular software, while we apply the TAM to the new equipment adoption. In this study, both theoretical review and empirical study were conducted and the model was set through the theoretical study which was tested through the empirical analysis. Management support and training/education were shown to have a positive effect on PU and PEOU. Personal innovativeness, management support, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were shown to have a positive effect on behavioral intention.

  • In a few years, a variety of mobile devices are expected to be utilized as a necessity for business as well as personal communications. Thus it is needed to conduct a comprehensive study on the acceptance of mobile devices in the mature market like Korea. This paper develops an extended technology acceptance model by including functional attributes of cellular phone and examines the determinant factors causing accepting cellular phones. Our empirical analysis through the internet survey shows that 1) among the determinant factors, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment or fun, and social pressure have positive direct impacts on the intention of accepting cellular phone, and 2) functional attributes of cellular phone affect the determinant factors differently.
