  • In this paper, it is analyzed that the financial factors of successful/unsuccessful companies in restructuring among Korean SMEs. For this purpose, the cases of 494 SMEs that had been subjected to workout programs due to financial distress between 2008-2014 were collected from A bank which is a SME financing bank, and had been subjected to logistic regression and t-test. And the sample cases are categorized into two groups, companies subject to external audit and the others, to provide more reliability. The result suggests; First, in all sample cases of SMEs, those are success factors for workout in connection with smaller total assets, lager sales amount, lower ratio of intangible assets, higher ratio of operating profit, lower ratio of short-term debt, higher ratio of long-term debt, and longer corporation history. Secondly, several factors have different influence on companies subject to external audit and the others. Lastly, the success factors for workout in Korean SMEs turned out to be different from those suggested in previous studies that are focused on large company. Some of the financial factors that led financially distressed firm to a successful restructuring showed the same results as large companies, but some of them were not related to them or even had the inverse influence on SMEs. This implies that SMEs have their distinctive success factors.

The theoretical basis was established that the marketing capabilities (product development capability, distribution capability, pricing capability, public relations capability) of exporting SMEs have a positive effect on overseas market performance through online export marketing. In the market, the use of online export marketing by SMEs can provide implications in that it can be an important means for overseas market development and performance. • This study was started to verify the preliminary(Ex-ante) discrimination power of the firm's high-activity using the 'Forward-looking' oriented technology appraisal model used in technology financing. The analytical firms are classified into the industry (manufacturing / non-manufacturing) and the age of company (initial / non-initial). High-activity SMEs are defined as those that achieve at least twice the average asset turnover ratio of the cluster. As a result of the discriminant model by applying C5.0 method, which is one of decision tree models, classification accuracy is more than 99% in all industries and the age of company, and it is confirmed that the discriminant power of the model is stable. As a result, the management expertise, capital involvement and funding capacity items were identified as a critical variable for the high-activity SMEs. In addition, the technology management capability and technology life cycle were also confirmed to be the items to determine high-activity SMEs in the manufacturing industry. Through this, it was possible to confirm some possibility of prior discrimination and policy utilization of high-activity SMEs by using technology appraisal items.

  • SMEs and small enterprises are making various attempts to manage SMEs in terms of equipment, safety and energy management as well as production management. However, SMEs do not have the investment capacity and it is not easy to build a smart factory to improve management and productivity of SMEs. In this paper, we propose a smart factory construction algorithm that partially integrates the factory equipment currently operated by SMEs. The proposed algorithm supports collection, storage, management and processing of product information and release information through IoT device during the whole manufacturing process so that SMEs' smart factory environment can be constructed and operated in stages. In addition, the proposed algorithm is characterized in that central server manages authentication information between devices to automate the linkage between IoT devices regardless of the number of IoT devices. As a result of the performance evaluation, the proposed algorithm obtained 13.7% improvement in the factory process and efficiency before building the Smart Factory environment, and 19.8% improvement in the processing time in the factory. Also, the cost of input of manpower into process process was reduced by 37.1%.
