As more and more companies pursue ISO 9000 certification, one of the most misconceptions about ISO 9000 is that registration is necessary only for business. ISO 9000 is being driven by commercial requirements, not legal fiat. This registration can be used as evidence of compliance to the ISO 9000 to satisfy specific customer requirements. The primary objective of this research is to provide the efficient implementation process of ISO 9000 certification on the basis of total quality management concerning with ISO/CDl 9001:2000, ISO/CDl 9004:2000 and ISO/CD2 9001:2000. Based on the result of first paper in May 1999, this study has been conducted using the data collected from 312 manufacturing companies which registered ISO 9000 certification. This analysis can be applied to Korean small and medium industrial companies in establishing and maintaining the development of qualify systems. The companies should be able to benefit if they make continuous effort to improve the quality activities based on the factors suggested in this paper.

ISO 9000 : 2000은 기존 ISO 9000 품질보증시스템에 측정 및 개선 개념을 접목시켜 품질향상을 도모하는 국제 품질경영시스템 규격이다. 이 규격은 요건을 만족시키는 수동적인 자세에서 탈피하여 경쟁력 강화에 필요한 프로세스 중심의 사고전환을 요구하고 있다. 본 논문은 정보 유통기관에게 ISO 9000:2000을 도입하는 방안을 제시하고 있다. ISO 9000과 TL 9000과의 발전 배경, ISO 9000:2000 버전의 의미, 품질경영시스템의 도입 사례, 그리고 도입 단계 등을 다룬다.

As more and more companies pursue ISO 9000 certification, the adaptation of ISO 9000 has brought about some significant positive effects to domestic quality systems However, somenegative results occurred in domestic industries rushing to fulfill the requirements of these new quality systems. The primary objective of this research is to provide the efficient implemen tation process of ISO 9000 certification on the basis of total quality management concerning with ISO/ DIS 9000:2000, ISO/ DIS 9001:2000, ISO/DIS 9004:2000. this study has been conducted using the data collected from 325 Korean small and medium manufacturing companies which registered ISO 9000 certification in March 2000. The first, the adoption of a quality manage ment system needs to be a strategic decision of the organization. The design period of the adoption of a quality management system is influenced by the size of the organization, the products process, KS certification, the rate of management.

ISO9000 set of standards has been widely applied in Iranian Automotive manufacturing industry. Regarding the effects of TQM and ISO9000 set of standards various studies have been conducted and different quantitative conclusions have been made. Due to lack of quantitative information, in many of the cases, using qualitative information becomes the best option. The qualitative nature of data in such cases, requires qualitative analysis methods that might lead to some challenging computational issues. This paper examines the impact of ISO9000: 2000 certification and its perceived benefits for an automotive manufacturing company. Using an empirical approach, the paper seeks to ascertain if certification has indeed improved the performance of the company. Our null hypothesis rotates around the effect of ISO9000: 2000 on the 4W's of an enterprise. To carry out the research, first we developed a couple of questionnaires including all criteria of ISO9000 and 4W's. Second, the questionnaires were discussed with two researchers knowledgeable in the field, and then submitted to the quality practitioners and executives of Iran Khodro Enterprise-a leading company in Iranian automotive manufacturing industry. Finally the null hypothesis was tested and the technology improvement dimensions were ranked through nonparametric tests. The results illustrated a reasonable cause and effect relationship, suggesting that ISO9000: 2000 has positive effect on the 4W's of company result. In this work we investigate the effect as technology improvement viz., the improvement of techno-ware, human-ware, info-ware, and organ-ware.

The ISO 9000 family of international quality management standards were revised on 15 December 2000. The ISO 9001:2000 standard is used for certification/registration and contractual purposes by organizations seeking recognition of their quality management system(QMS). We summarize key contents changed in ISO 9000:2000 family standards. To comply with ISO 9001:2000, we analyze the current QMS for steel outfit industry, using audit results from ISO 9001:1994 for seven steel outfit firms during last three years. We investigate statistical relationships between ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:1994 requirements from a three dimensional contingency table with audit results. We observe that the importance of requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 sections makes a difference between companies.

Because of preferential treatment in PQ judgement, many construction company got the certification of ISO 9000. But the main objective of them was just certification itself. The ISO 9000 certification which was composed of 20 requirements was a standard just for the manufacturing industry, so it was difficult that it was applied to a business of construction industry. In these reasons, they have revised ISO 9000:l994 which was composed or 20 requirements to ISO 9000:2000 which requests to focus on business process. In this research, we'll develop a System for Project Quality Plan that is related with information of site process in an apartment housing project. This system is intended to increase use of project quality plan in construction sites based on the construction process.

The International Organization for Standardization(ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. Through ISO Technical Committees(TC), various International Standards are being carried out. Each member body interested in a subject for which a TC has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electro-technical Commission(IEC) on all matters of electro-technical standardization. ISO established the ISO 9000 Family standard in 1987, and International Standard ISO 9000-3 was worked by ISO/TC 176, Quality management and quality assurance, Subcommittee 2(SC 2), Quality systems, in accordance with the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 3: 1997 Rules for the structure and drafting of International Standards, Many organizations have applied the ISO 9000-3 for their quality system standard in the software sector. That means that ISO 9000-3: 1991 and ISO 9000-3: 1997 have been used successfully by the software industry as the internationally accepted interpretation of ISO 9001 for the development and maintenance of computer software. Additionally ISO 9000-3: 1997 involved how the software life cycle processes defined in ISO/IEC 12207: 1995, Information Technology - Software Life Cycle Processes related to the requirements of ISO 9001:1994. After having performed full reviews of the WD3, CD1, CD2 and DIS drafts of the future ISO 9001:2000, this document will partly replace the part of ISO 9000-3: 1997 for measurement analysis and improvement of quality management system in computer software industry, as an interpretation for organizations and certification bodies, which will be withdrawn when ISO 9001:1994 is replaced by ISO 9001:2000,.

The organizations registered ISO 9000:1994 have upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 family through transition period by December, 2003. Some features of ISO 9001:2000 family are that it merged three ISO 9000 series, reduced 20 requirements to five major clauses, and focused on Plan-Do-Check-Act improvement cycle. We interviewed quality managers and staffs of 37 companies certified ISO 9001:2000 in Busan and Kyungnam provinces where most machine, metalwork, and manufacturing companies in South Korea are located. Using statistical analysis, we find out which status of firms are related with the requirements of five clauses. We also discover if there is any difference in performing the requirements depending on top managership, reasons for seeking ISO 9001:2000 certification, and ISO 9001:2000 operating period.
